Four years ago this company was great and we purchased our garage doors from them. We were happy with the service and went back now wanting to upgrade our garage door system to a quieter model. Chris was dismissive, rude, impolite and told my husband he was busy dealing with an employee who just quit. (Wonder why?) I convinced my husband to still give them our business, maybe this was an isolated experience in poor service. I was WRONG. Today, Chris blew my husband off again and could not be bothered to answer his questions or set up a time to do the installation for us. We are in favor of supporting small local business, but shit service is inexcusable. This is a competitive market. We have used All City Garage 4 times over the last 8 years or so and have always had excellent service, today was no exception. They have a great tech. that came out to give the original bid, kept me up-to-date on arrival time, gave quote after measuring on the spot, got on the calendar about a week out, installed in 3 hours (it was a 100 year old garage that wasn't even close to square). Had All City Garage Door install a new garage door and the spring fell off less than 10 days later. Scary!! To their credit, they sent someone out within 1-2 hours to fix the door. However, because of how the spring came off the wall, it caused damage to the new garage door. Instead of promptly calling to schedule time to fix the damage to the door, I get a call from a "rude" person who acts like he's doing me a favor by scheduling time to fix my door. I've had to work with him twice now because he installed the glass garage door on my house and I have twice had to replace the specific glass panels. He is hard to contact, rude, didn't want to drive to my house so after scheduling a time and day to arrive he then texted to say it was too far away and I need to find another company to do the install. But then he refuses to tell me the product information for the glass piece that's needed so I can't even do that. He won't answer my texts or calls. And then I read his responses to the other reviews...guess this isn't new behaviour. If you decide to read this review, I'd really appreciate you please responding to one of my emails and giving me the product info so that I can order it myself and find someone else to install. Just bought a house in Kent. I moved in on Saturday and Sunday the garage door opener died....completely dead....no power. I called All City Garage Door and spoke with Chris. He did some trouble shooting with me over the phone. He suspected the logic board. I priced around for the part and noticed my opener was from 2003. I spoke with people at Lowes and they suggested it might be wiser to replace the whole unit since it was 15 yearsold. I called Chris back and scheduled for a new unit and opted for a quieter belt driven to replace the old chain driven. Bill (the install tech) arrived on time and was very professional. He worked in a timely manner and left his work area spotless. He was friendly and answered all my questions. My garage door is working like a charm! Thanks Chris and Bill. Had my garage door opener stop working suddenly, amazing what a pain it is to have to manually open your garage door. No, I'm not a super sized lazy @$$, just annoyed by having a modern convenience taken away from me. Found All City Door (ACD) online and gave them a call, leaving a message for a return call. This is a place where things can often go wrong (you never get called back) but ACD called back promptly and explained their service and discussed my situation. He didn't make me feel too good about my opener, so was kind of dreading the service call and hearing that I would need to replace the opener. My place is for sale and that would have sucked big time. The tech called me on the day of the appointment (2 days after my initial call) and asked if it would be OK if he came earlier than the scheduled time. How often does that happen (cable company take note!!)? Jim showed up an hour early and went to work. Turns out my problem was something really ridiculous, those eyes on the ground that prevent things from being crushed by the door were obscured and this was making the door not open cause the eye sensed danger (in the form of a plastic bag). Jim did the full check up that they offer, explained what he did and why I had a problem. I always appreciate coherent explanation from a service provider. The door now quietly opens again at the touch of a button and I couldn't be happier. I feel like I actually know a thing or 2 about garage doors, thanks to Jim's through explanation. I called these guys and got a quote today for a cable coming loose on my pulley ( no broken springs nor was the cable broken) ******************************* They quoted me $107. I called this other place out of Issaquah who would nnot give a quote over the phone and said they had to come out. JUST LIKE THE PLACES ON DATELINE THAT TRY TO ROB YOU So ISSAQUAHS CHOICE OVERHEAD GARAGE DOORS comes out , gives me a text book list of all this work that needs to be done in order to fix the cable " hard crash reset" is what they said the service was calld " to be exact" I told him All City quoted $100 and they told me that was not real and once they got here they would jack up the price. They quoted me $350 and said normally I would pay $500-$600 I told my wife something did not seem right with this guy. I guess they reminded me of the DATELINE shows where they try to charge $200 to adjust the sensor and give a one page long list of why the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced etc etc Told them to have a nice day and call All City back. Sure enough they came over, did the work, laughed when I told them about ISSAQUAHS CHOICE OVERHEAD, and fixed my door for $107!!! Unbelievable !! I work my feet off everyday to support my family and them dudes were trying to take as much as they could from me / create a whole bunch of work that was fake... THIS PLACE HAS INTEGRITY ! I don't make a patient request for information to be removed and in turn appreciate the condescending name-calling of "sweetie" and "darling" we JUST CANNOT help you. While terrible experiences are in the exception for this service, my poor experience falls in line with quite a few of the other bad reviews.. So, this little tale is somewhat embarrassing - let's just chalk it up to panic over windstorms and being alone in the dark, shall we? A couple of years back, the Seattle area had a pretty harsh winter, and I was forced to open my garage door manually - the power was out due to a windstorm. I disconnected the electric garage door opener, and wasn't able to get it reconnected. My husband was out of town for a couple of months - his dad was in hospice at the time. I was too embarrassed to ask the neighbors for help, so I was in a bind. The company who'd installed my garage door when my house was built back in 2006 had left a sticker on the inside of the garage door. I called the phone number on that sticker. Three days later, still not having heard back from that company, I happened to drive past All City Door. I called and set up an appointment with them instead. All City provided me with an estimated time of arrival, and to go above and beyond, they called me at work when they were about a half hour out, so that I could drive home to meet them. When the technician got to my house and I explained what I needed, he snapped the hook for the electric opener back into place within seconds. He told me he couldn't charge me for that, but I insisted on paying them something. He went ahead and changed a bulb that was out and did a quick tune-up/check of the equipment and charged me the minimum service fee. I was very happy with their work, my garage door has kept on chugging right along since then. I'm actually really glad the original installation company never called back. read more

We found out about it a month later and they said they would send a check.After 2 weeks and several phone calls and "the check is in the mail"we had our Visa company reverse the charge. If I could give anyone zero stars it would be this company right here. This company is not trust worthy and does not care about customer service. All City Garage Door was contracted through our home insurance to repair our garage motor. When I called in, the mechanic told me they were two weeks out in service but was willing to "squeeze" me in on a Thursday. I also work in the service industry, so I took a half day to wait for the "lead mechanic" to show up. The appointment time came and no one showed up. I called and asked for an ETA because I still needed to go in to work. No one answered, no one called back and then I was accused of lying when I reported that no mechanic had shown up to my house. When I placed my second call to All City Garage Door, the mechanic who answered was abrupt, never looked up any of my information and still claimed that his "lead mechanic" went out to our house and checked out the motor. I thought that was really strange considering that my car was parked in the drive way blocking my garage, also I waiting in my house from 8am to 1pm, for a mechanic to show up, yet no one ever came.... I get it, it is the summer and I bet there are plenty of other jobs this company could work on the make more money than being contracted through our homeowners insurance. However, the reality is that this is still a "job" regardless and the mechanic's should be held accountable when they have not done the job correctly. So if you are looking for shit company who will refuse to service you after you have called to hold them accountable you have found the perfect company. Cheers! UPDATE: Since leaving my review the manager of All City Garage Door Chris has harassed me on multiple occasions because of the feedback I offered. Rather than trying to fix the problem to help his company grow, Chris chose to belittle my character on his personal Facebook account referring to me as a "snot nose child." When I decided to ignore his hateful comments like an adult, Chris then took it upon himself to share the private information on my garage door. The "lead mechanic" did not show up during his scheduled appointment time, which leads me to believe that he helped himself in whenever he became available that day. This does not surprise me, considering that the manager Chris has no concept of communication or customer relations. I'd love to cross check and verify, Chris's supposed discovery but I actually got the door fixed by REAL professionals, who did the job right the first time. The first time I hired All City Door was back when I bought my house in 2005. They came out and fixed my issue within an hour! They placed a sticker on the inside of my door so when I needed a service done 10 years later, I called them again. Looking for a cheap option to fix an old opener, the owner of the company and technician came out to give me two different options - a brand new opener or a refurbished one. They installed the refurbished one for me at the fraction of the price. I made an appointment nevertheless. On the day of the appointment, no one showed up and they did not call to cancel or reschedule. After they were an hour late, I called and left a message to let them know there was a no show. He noticed a broken bracket and replaced without even having a contract. I selected All City Door to install the two door openers, a double and single. His crew came out on time, Rudy and Bill joined him shortly after. They were professional and respectful. The doors were installed within the time Chris stated and they cleaned my floor of my dust and their debris. About 6 years ago we had a spring replaced and a new opener installed by All city. They also reinforced our sagging garage door. We had such a positive experience with them then, that when we had an goofy mishap with our garage and one of our cars, we knew who to call first. I can honestly say this experience exceeded our first with them. They do Honest, good work, and have reasonable prices. When it came time to have them installed, the installer was on time and professional about his installation. Overall experience was great. They were one of three bids I got. They were not the cheapest but explained there products well. I went with the Heritage 3000 and a new Lift Master 8550w opener Bill the installer was great to work with, he made sure that the remotes were programmed correctly as well as our homelink systems in our cars. There was additional equipment needed for these but Bill had it with him and supplied at no cost. I wish I had been more informed on how to connect my phone app with the opener but I did say I would look it up on YouTube. It's not the most clear thing on the instruction manual but YouTube was great. It only took 2 min once I found the right video. I would definitely recommend them to my friends read more

Chris, the owner, installed my 3 garage doors and also my 2 neighbor's doors. Quality products and service. Recently, the torsion springs on my main garage door broke. Chris replaced it and it ran OK but Chris thought it might need some adjustment. He called me a couple days ago on Saturday to see how it was running and I said it was running a bit rough. He came out ON A SATURDAY and looked at it, decided it needed to have some additional new parts and then installed them. Works great now. And while I of course paid for the service call and torsion spring, he paid for all the rest and no labor for the additional parts. You can trust Chris and ACGD to take care of you in the long run ... he has taken care of my doors fast and well and I give him 5 stars. read more

I've been having All City Door work on my garage doors for over "10 Years". If you find a more meticulous company and specifically a person like Cris Alquist, you have landed in Garage Door heaven! And even then it will be a showdown. He has installed many different doors in new construction for me from a 20 foot door in a remodel to a 4 car garage in new construction for a custom home at Washington National Golf Course. He has placed and work on doors at 3 of my Mother's homes as well as 3 of my brother's home and believe it or not, my Sister's home too over the years. All the work that has EVER been done on any of my family's garage doors has been done with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail. Cris seriously has "OCD" when it comes to garage doors! I'm not too shocked at these couple of bad reviews because as a business owner myself, I know that things can happen when you end up with a bad employee or a customer that can never be satisfied, but I know that Cris would never tolerate an employee who would do substandard work and would replace them as soon as it came to light. Nevertheless, By now I know that Cris himself or any of his installers are held to the standard of installing or servicing a garage door similarly to that of your family Dentist installing your veneers when you need them ;) All City Door is really a top notch company and you can take that to the bank. Richard spoke with me about how the sections would need to be replaced and offered to have me just send in pictures of the door and get an estimate that way. I did and had an estimate the same day from Chris. I also called another highly rated Yelp garage door business and that man was awful. Treated me like I was an idiot. As a woman I HATE that. The price at the other place was the same too. Anyway, I chose All City because they treated me with respect and their price was right on. They got the parts ordered and a few weeks later here I sit with a great looking garage door that my HOA can no longer complain about. Found ACD online and called them when my springs broke on my garage. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and answered all my questions (I had a lot!) I was bummed they couldn't come out for two days, but he showed up on time and was very nice. The price quoted was the price I paid. They also "tuned up" my garage door and opener, lubricated the wheels and ball bearings. He even replaced a light that I had out in my opener. You can hardly even hear my garage door opening/closing now! I had no idea how noisy it was before. I'm kind of a tough-to-please sort of girl but I was very happy with their service overall. Started out great - 1st tech to come out was courteous howevever I got a call that he would be late one hour after the appointment time (broken down van). Unfortunately it was found out that my garage door spring needed to be replaced instead of my opener and that a part would most likely need to be ordered. The tech told me I would get a call the next day... waited from Wednesday to Monday before I called them wondering what the deal was, and found out they were ordering the spring - we set up another appointment for the following week for the work to get done. Next week, the second tech who arrived was not familiar with the door spring to be installed, and informed us that he "didn't really work on our type of door and opener" and would have someone else come out finish the job that day. He also told us we couldn't use the door. No one ever showed up, and it took numerous phone calls and emails before I was informed that my door worked fine(?) (despite what the tech told us) and that we now needed a new opener as well. Communication broke down to the point where I was chastised and insulted via email by them, and notified that my bill for the door spring/labor was on its way, and threatened with collections if I didn't pay (also insulting). Poor customer service, insulting and angry emails from them, and a whole lot of stress- I hope they enjoy the money they made from me! Went to a competitor and got the door spring fixed up (sort of) and a new opener for much less than All City quoted me at in the first place. The spring All City Door incorrectly installed was damaged but it is still functional - it's not worth my stress to go back to them for resolution at this point. What a nightmare - you would think that with today's economy they would be more professional. read more

The douche bag I talked to acted as if I was an imbecile because I asked questions and wanted to understand what actually needed to be done.
