I've been to this bar a few times and the service is always phenomenal! Anna the Bartender always makes me really creative cocktails and has definitely expanded my horizons. I was amazed at her attentiveness and knowledge on different spirits! I also especially like the back patio area which has redwood trees growing through it. read more

Great bar. Was recommended by a co worker of mine. Did not disappoint. Yelp has the opening time wrong (it's 5pm, not noon). Nevertheless, I met someone there at 430 and the owner was super accommodating even though they weren't open. Pros: the owner/bartender is super cool. He remodeled the place himself. For those that care, the finish on the bar is really good. And the back patio is really nice. It would be a great place to hang out on a warm afternoon. Prices are also good and drinks are great. Because I got there early, he let me have some input into that evening drink menu. Cons: they open at 5 (on weekends I wish they'd be open earlier for afternoon beers of their patio). Also, I wish they had a kitchen. But they let you bring in food and there are no shortage of options on the block. Verdict: def worth going. read more

The space is clean and big, and as noted in other reviews there's a nice, big outdoor patio beneath towering redwood trees and strings of lights that come on after dark. This bar is pretty cool. I came in this past Saturday after dinner up the street with a friend and it was the perfect place for our night cap. A friendly dude greeted us at the door and checked our Ids (I love when door guys are friendly, lot of them are assholes) We went straight to the bar and the bartender very quickly aknowledged us and got us set with our order. I wasnt thrilled with the cocktail menu, think it could use some improvements. From what I saw there was maybe 8-9 drinks and they were all pretty standard; a mule, a tequila citrus drink, a whiskey cocktail, a margarita etc nothing really seemed special so I began to look at the beer list. My friend is cocktail bougie like me and she actually decided on beer as well. The beer list was better off, they had a good choice a little bit of everything-even a 8.9% sour beer. Its like it was put there just for me :) my friend ordered a grapefruit shandy type of beer so it was cool even though they had no cocktails we liked they did have beer to meet our needs. The bar is a nice mix of popping and low key. Hip hop plays loud enough that I imagine a dance party could get going on the right night, but low enough that you can sit and have a conversation with your party. Speaking of that I noticed a very diverse group of people inside; old/young, black/white/green. Definetly a little bit of everything which I always appreciate. They have an outside area in the back of the place with trees and tables, it was freezing so I only gazed longingly from inside but I know its something that will be perfect for a hot summer night. Love the prices . Never go on a first Friday or any Friday for that matter! The bartenders are nice at best when not busy but don't expect eye contact Fri -Sun! There's a guy not sure if he works there or if he's apart of the ownership but (he's about 5'6 brunette and wears glasses) and a complete dick!!! He always been not on the friendly side and but when it's the least bit busy he defiantly doesn't wear stress well. Snarls at people to move , doesn't say thank you , excuse me. So happy when I go there and don't see him! Will continue to there MON-Thurs tho. Only bring new people the on off days, wish the picnic tables were stable and that there were just more of them! Nice ambiance; cool space. Unfortunately, service was pretty amateurish -very slow and inefficient bartending, despite not being busy. Paid with a card and only provided with merchant copy to sign, not a customer copy. It was relatively early in the evening, so hopefully later shifts are more capable. For the price point and nice look to this place, I expected a higher caliber of service. That said, the space was cool and the back patio is nice. I will give this place another chance and hope this was an isolated incident. read more

Here now, in case anyone was wondering the happy hour discount is -2$ from tap cocktails and 1$ off beer and wine. And this outdoor section is no joke -- this is maybe my favorite aesthetic for any bar in Oakland, which isn't saying much (I don't go to that many bars), but there is no corner of this bar that isn't classy and beautiful, and the outdoors is gorgeous and beautifully plant designed. Went to the double standard last night, Saturday night. It was pretty packed and very loud but that didn't bother me. After a drink my friend and I stepped outside to call another friend and either the owner or bar manager... Someone .. Walked up to the doorman and told him not to let me back in. I was truly confused because I wasn't drunk and didn't do anything to be kicked out. Me and my friend approached the man at the door and he let me know I couldn't come back in, I was having a good time so of course my friend and I got frustrated and asked what was going on, before the doorman could answer the manager owner, whoever came out looked at me and said "don't let that bitch back in" ...if you don't want me in your stupid bar, fine! But don't stoop so low as to call a woman, who didn't do anything wrong a bitch. I honestly think they had me mistaken with someone else because me and my friend couldn't figure out what I did, and all the idiot man Arab man could say bitch this bitch that. Very unprofessional. I'll probably never go to this disrespectful place of business EVER AGAIN. read more

Outrageous. Bar tender was incredibly rude. Purposefully poured drink under the bar to hide the fact that he added no alcohol to it. That is technically theft. This guy stole from a customer. Go if you like this terrible service. read more
