The Yelp listing said this place was closed today, but it was open 8-3 and are we glad it was! What a delightful find!! My husband and I both had the dirty chai with almond milk and decaf espresso, and they were delicious. He also had the breakfast pastie, which he loved, and I had one of the delicious cinnamon rolls that was fresh out of the oven and still a little warm. We ate outside at one of the tables and it was just the perfect summer coffee house experience. We will definitely be back!! read more

The shop is very cute, with a peace, love vibe (probably from all of the vw bus merch inside) and the "hippie" paint job on the outside. We were greeted right away and our order was promptly taken. I had the BEST dirty chai latte, while hubby had the mocha coffee and a banana chocolate chip oatmeal muffin. Between the coffee, the vibe, and the view of Lake Superior, I'll be back. read more

Loved this little place! Definitely our favorite coffee shop we stopped at during our UP roadtrip. All of the merch they sold was adorable and I loved all of the illustrations they had on their clothing, stickers, magnets, etc. We ended up getting 2 stickers for $3 each. For coffee we tried the pancake latte (maple syrup and butter) and the stella stellar (chai, cinnamon, espresso and caramel). The pancake latte was yummy but a bit lacking in the maple flavor I was expecting. But the Stella Stellar was to die for and perfect for our fall morning. It was really cool to see the history of the place and to see the VW bus that they used to run the shop out of fully. We stopped out back to see the bus and to say hi to the shop dog Toivo (what a cutie!). Service was quick and kind. Love supporting small local businesses and I hope they see continued success in the years to come! read more

The pasty I had was the breakfast one since they were out of ground beef ones, and it was delicious. It was my first time having a pasty. I also had a smoothie and both pasty and smoothie were a great lunch. I would recommend this place for sure. The store had the charm of a boutique store and the staff was friendly. This place is a godsend!!! Was here in this town at the campground with the Grandkids while exploring the UP this summer (horrible campground) by the way, read my other reviews!!! I would never go there again. But this place is literally almost across the street from it and this place is only one of two highlights of this whole community, The staff was friendly every day and this store and gift shop is quaint, they had lots of different options, and the grand kids seemed to enjoy all the little things and knick knacks and doo dads they had. I enjoyed the different coffees and the fruit drinks they made, Very neat spot. The VW bus was iconic, I had one like this in the 70's and it brought back some memories. My wife definitely got lots of swag from this place. She was rocking a new shirt or sweatshirt I felt every morning we were here. It was a little pricey, I mean you're not Starbucks! But not terribly bad. The homemade snacks were good, I feel like this place could open multiple locations in the area and be very successful, I went to a coffee place in Muncing. And it took them 2 days to realize they actually had decaf. So The Dream Bean Machine for the win! read more

The sweetest little coffee shop in Grand Marais! It was exactly what we were looking for after a chilly hike. The drinks were so delicious and the shop has lots of cute items you wouldn't find elsewhere. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for breakfast the next day to get something quick. This is the absolute cutest little coffee shop I've ever been to. The owner runs it out of a VW van but also has an actual gift shop attached to it! I did not get a coffee since I was about to go on a hike, but everything on the menu looked really good. I would also highly recommend checking out the shop inside, and it's also an online store! The owner also had her dog, Toivo, outside on this sunny day and it is the nicest, sweetest dog ever. Always give bonus points if there's friendly animals around! read more

Simple the best coffee shop ever... not just in the area, but anywhere I've been! The Stella is amazing! Smoothies are awesome! I have not had anything here that hasn't been fantastic! It is my "must do" every time I'm in the UP! The staff are great, the cinnamon rolls and pasties are a wonderful addition, and the atmosphere has that perfect beach vibe. The coffee is reasonably priced given the high quality! Good things are worth paying for and that being said, Dream Bean is well worth it and comparably priced to a Starbucks but with better coffee. The staff are just lovely and there is always something fun to find in the little shop. Even my 9 year old gets excited to go here! read more

Stopped in for some hot beverages this cool fall morning. A couple of people there when I pulled up, all including the two ladies in the bus, were masked up for the ongoing COVID-19 ISSUE... Ended up getting a hot apple cider, a dark chocolate mocha and two cinnamon rolls. Both drinks were very good and they have a large number of beverages to choose from. The cinnamon rolls were very good, but very sweet. Service was very friendly and quick enough, as they had to make the drinks for you. Gives you a little time to browse through the gift shop back end of the bus! Where they also had ginger candy, so I picked up a bag for my wife.
