Due to an Uber address mix-up, we ended up at this location by mistake. Upon arriving near closing time, we just asked if we could come in for a drink as we believed this was a bar: After being told it was a private event, I calmly tried to explain our Uber mistake. Instead of handling the situation professionally, a female staff member completely lost her temper. She started screaming at us, talked to us terribly, and physically aggressed us and telling us to go away. Given the unprovoked hostility and the way she treated us, I strongly believe her behavior was racially motivated because we are not from America. She tried to physically attack us. Her actions were so completely out of line and unwarranted that even several guests from the private event came over to apologize to us for her deplorable conduct. No one should ever be subjected to discrimination, verbal abuse, or violence over a simple misunderstanding. I highly advise avoiding this place, customer service, safety, and basic respect are completely nonexistent here. To make matters worse, I didn't even say a word to provoke her, she completely misdirected her anger at us just because of other people standing nearby. Being targeted, screamed at, and pushed when you haven't done or said a single thing is completely unhinged. She literally screamed right in our faces: "Hell no! Get the fuck out of here!"

It is actually an old smog shoppe and so if you're having a formal affair (like a formal wedding), this will feel off. The bathrooms especially give this a more casual, chain restaurant feeling. The neighborhood isn't great but if you come for any event, it's very likely there will be valet parking. That is the ONLY way to do it. Absolutely worth looking at if you're doing a work meeting, conference, rehearsal dinner or something where a more relaxed, artsy feel is in order.

From the moment we booked, Joe (the owner) and his entire team were unbelievably accommodating, professional, and easy to work with. Their communication was seamless from start to finish, and they made the entire planning process stress-free. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The indoor-outdoor rooftop layout with bi-fold doors, gorgeous lighting, and incredible views created the perfect atmosphere. We hosted 120 guests, but the space can easily accommodate up to 200 people, making it ideal for Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, milestone birthdays, corporate events, and any private party. One of the biggest advantages of The Palm Sophia is its versatility. We brought in our own vendors, including a kosher caterer, and the staff generously allowed full use of their fully equipped kitchen. They also offer valet parking, onsite security, heaters, and were even willing to tent the outdoor space if the weather turned, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. They have tables, chairs, and staff available to help with setup, which saved us so much time and coordination. Every guest commented on how beautiful and unique the venue was -- almost none of them had been there before, and everyone was blown away. This venue is truly a hidden gem in Culver City. Located off of Jefferson boulevard in Culver City, this place is one of a kind. My first impression was its an art gallery converted to a music venue. While everything else in the area is a beach bar, this is hand down the coolest spot in town. It's often hard to find street parking, so I find it super convenient that they have a valet. The owner Michael is incredibly nice, and from the bouncers to the bartenders I couldn't find a single negative thing to say about their amazing staff. Culver City PD actually runs their security so you feel safe and sound while dancing to top DJs from around the world. I've attended their Rose and Lace parties where they often have aerial acrobatics and beautiful dancers in elaborate costumes. This lace party they actually had the Love Bus with a DJ on top in the back yard. This place never ceases to amaze me.
