So I saw this place just walking by and was really in the mood for some tacos so we came in and sat down and I had a "Painkiller" (that was the name of the drink) and Mahi Tacos. These tacos were phenomenal, the tacos had that fish taste but not in a bad way, it tasted very healthy I love when you can make fish taste really well and this place did it really good. The pain killer drink was very good as well but you can't have too many of these cause it has an added 151 Rum shot in it. We also shared a slice of Key Lime Pie because I have never had it before and it was very delicious. The atmosphere was very chill, you could people watch and the beach was right across the street which was awesome. The service was great everyone was very nice and friendly. I would definitely come back here.
Only a short walk from my hotel, I stopped by the Drunken Taco for dinner. The majority of the seating is on the outside, but there is bar seating. It took a while for a server to come to me, as you seat yourself. Their $9.99 large margarita (I ordered the Blue Wave, but they come in 4 varieties) hit the spot. It didn't seem watered down at all as you sometimes get with larger drinks. The coconut shrimp tacos were fresh, but the sweet chili sauce truly elevated the taco. The rice and beans were a nice side.
Buy one get one happy hour margaritas were great! I expected something overly sweet with no alcohol and my expectations were exceeded. I got cheese nachos with chicken and they were layered with toppings. Very filling and delicious. The womens bathroom wasn't the cleanest. The restaurant is completely open so it was a little warm. Service was good. I say check this place out!
Stopped by here for lunch and it was probably the busiest place on the strip for a couple blocks but not over crowded. While they have weekly specials and happy hour all day, be aware that 2 for 1 items are per person (like you and a friend can't get 2 giant margaritas and just pay for one). Service was attentive when around but also missing some of the time. The food was tasty but the queso on the burrito was pretty salty. Also the burrito was very dense, missing something fresh or with a crunch or something to give it dimension. The loaded taco salad and the fiesta bowl comes in a huge taco shell which is always a plus on my book. The salad was good but very lettuce dense (about 3/4 of the tall shell bowl) and if you ate just from the top down, about halfway through you'd only have lettuce left. The chicken on the salad was quite tasty. Lastly, the view from the sidewalk seating can't be beat on a beautiful So Flo day
Service was good! Matt was our server and he was fun as well as attentive to our needs. We went on a Sunday night. Music was fun! We ordered the Korean bbq tacos. Don't make the mistake we did. We thought it was beef but turned out it is chicken tacos with a Korean bbq sauce. It was good but was disappointed because we didn't read the whole description. Wings were good! Had a crispness to them. They have 2 for 1 margaritas. They are big! Good you can take them to go if you cant finish it. We liked the Hawaiian one! It was a fun find! Bathroom was so messy. Had no toilet paper. Definitely not a kid friendly bathroom. Luckily we didn't have to change our child.
After a nice day on the beach, we ended up eating a light lunch at The Drunken Taco. It's in a prime location on the Fort Lauderdale beach strip, just steps away from the sand and lots of shops. After we stepped into this dive bar, we grabbed a high top table, then ordered a few tacos, empanadas, and drinks. Now here's the long and short of it: Great food? Check! Good music? Check! Amazing Pina Coladas? Double Check!! Perfect for people watching? Check! Friendly service? Check! (Shout-out to Julie) Sticky (aka OLD) tables? You betcha. Less than perfect bathroom? Absolutely lol. Birds leaving the beach and potentially walking by your table? Yup. And yikes. It is what you make it. If you decide to visit, I guarantee you won't be disappointed if 1) Julie is your server and 2) you order the Pina Colada. Winning combo!
Yum yum yum! The Birria tacos with black beans and rice were soooo good! The jalapeño watermelon margarita was tasty too. Clean restaurant, right off the beach. Nice ocean view and ocean breeze. Staff was really nice and helpful too! Highly recommend!
Just arrived at one of my usual tables. Sat for 20 minutes without service. Went to the bar and ordered 3 drinks. Went back to table and was not allowed to sit down and drink. About 20 tables vacant. She said we had to order from her. Hard to swallow for a local. Terrible service and servers. Two female servers would not lit us sit down. We have spent many days here before. Just sad. The people next to us had the same issue and left.
Grateful to be able to grab a late night dinner after a delayed arrival. When we arrived there was no one at the front so we were standing around waiting for help when an employee threw up his hands to say we can seat ourselves. Too funny but a sign saying just that would've been helpful. Anyway we got seated and a very friendly waitress (wish I could remember her name but it was late) greeted us. I ordered the veggie rice bowl and a passion fruit frozen margarita. Absolutely enjoyed both. It was such a beautiful night, after the rain. If you're ever in Fort Lauderdale definitely give this place a try, if you enjoy Mexican food and drinks as much as I do.
My fiance and I were strolling around the shops and happened upon this place! I was in the mood for nachos but ended up getting the Queso which was AMAZINg!!! I had two jalopeno watermelon margarita with a tajin rim which were spicy and delicious! I got shrimp tacos with a tangy sauce while my fiancé got the mani mahi tacos! Everything was delicious! Our server, Maggie was friendly and made great recommendations! He place gives off a divey vibe but don't let that fool you! The food is amazing!!!
Rating this mostly for the atmosphere and the drinks, the Drunken Taco has been a staple on the FT Lauderdale Beach strip for ages! Home of the two for one 32 oz margaritas, go for the $3 floater on top and call it a day. Their food is just so so. Stick to the specials like their chicken tacos. Edible. Service also a bit slow when they're busy especially.
Tacos and drinks were fire. The view was nice and the service was nice as well. On my list when we come back to FL
Stay away. How this place pumps out food is beyond me. The food is so bad and sketchy that it came out less than 5 minutes after ordered... before the drinks came out. The chicken was packaged and microwaved at best. How I know... I used to buy this chicken when I meal prepped. AND, the beans tasted like an ashtray... that's what happens when they sit on the burner for too long and overcook. Low quality for a restaurant, quite unbelievable how this place exists on the strip. I still can't believe how quick the food came out after ordered... I really think the booze is what moves, but stay AWAY from the food!
My sister and I stopped in for lunch. It was a beautiful spot to stop and have a bite to eat and enjoy the view of the ocean. At night this place can get busy and the life of the party but we found it to also be a nice quiet place for lunch. The service was quick and our server was very friendly and helpful. We got the two-for-one margaritas and were able to try a variety of margaritas and honestly I don't think you could go wrong with flavor. If you like a sweeter margarita, I'd recommend one of the frozen options. If you like to taste the alcohol then a classic margarita may be more your style. They have so many delicious lunch options, but my sister and I decided to split the Al Pastor Tacos and the Beef Empanadas, both of which were amazing! I will definitely be back to Drunken Taco! read more
Seating was plentiful on a Friday lunch. Our waitress was efficient and polite. We sat inside by a big ceiling fan. We ordered the beef empanadas which were tasty and shareable. Daughter picked the Birria tacos which she liked, but I found a little greasy. Husband ordered the fish tacos which he thought were average. I like that you can add an additional taco for $3.49 to the two taco plates. The rice and black beans was a large portion that comes with the tacos and was delicious. For the amount of food you receive for the price, I call it a win for the family on a vacation budget! read more
Im surprised to see the low reviews. I'm giving the place five stars . It's got a diva bar feel but it's on the beach and the views are amazing! You get the best deals on the strip!!!! Buy one get one free margaritas. And service was great too! read more

Just in town after a cruise and happened upon the Drunken Taco. Friendly, casual patio/streetside dining with a nice ocean view. Service was great, beer was cold, shrimp was delicious! Shared some guacamole that was also delicious! read more

Zero stars! I completely wasted my money here. I had to throw the tacos away after just one bite, they were that bad. The steak tacos looked exactly like the photo above, and despite that, I still gave them a try. Big mistake. My boyfriend and I were taco spot hopping, and this was our second stop. We were excited to try something new, but The Drunken Taco totally missed the mark. The flavor was off, the texture was weird, and we left super disappointed. read more

Giant margaritas were delicious. Service was good, our server Tashi was awesome and able to answer all of our questions and was so accommodating with our drink orders. The menu only has a few margarita options but they can make pretty much any margarita you want, I had watermelon jalapeño marg, so good. Although my friend ordered a Paloma and got a margarita with grapefruit juice, so would not recommend. Mahi fish tacos were great, an entire filet on one taco. Extensive tequila selection as well. Would come back and try the taco salad I hear is good. read more
I'm sorry but it was obvious the waiter didn't want to be there. He had the most nonchalant and dry personality I've ever seen from a waiter. The food here was horrible!!!!! It came out 2 minutes after ordering it. Everything was ice cold and nasty!!!! I'm being generous with the 2 stars and it's only because the drinks were decent. This place will never see me again. Empanadas: cold and watery 2/10 Shrimp tacos: COLD COLD YUCK 0/10 Burger and chips: 2/10 BOGO margaritas: 7/10 Rice and beans: 5/10 There's parking behind this restaurant and there's indoor and outdoor seating. read more

We stopped in here after being on the beach for awhile and wanting to grab a bite to eat. They have a nice patio with fans to cool you down. They have a 2 for 1 margarita special or you can upgrade your margarita to a double if you just want one. Hubby got one and upgraded it to a double. He said it was good but not impressive. He ordered queso and chips as well. It looked beautiful. It tasted like velveeta rotel dip..... Biggest draw to me is you have to pay for water bottles. $3. I get they are right by the beach and don't want people bumming waters... but for paying customers water should be free, and probably tap. Only bottled water is offered here. As an avid water drinker, this sucked. read more

OK, OK, we've all seen a dodgy restroom or two in our time...so don't let that stop you from visiting The Drunken Taco. I'm a glass half full kind of girl so let's just say if I was stuck in a cubicle with my horse, we could still get out under the door! We dropped in on Thursday for a quick beer and $4.95 street corn which incidentally was incredible!!! We ended up staying ALL day drinking Pina Coladas and eating corn chips! With a very relaxed Tiki bar vibe with a view to die for and Jamaican music that just makes you want to eat and drink forever, we easily met some like minded new friends and laughed for hours! The best part though, was our fabulous server: the lovely Tashi from Nepal. Our glasses were never empty, our table was immediately cleared & tidied (over and over), and she was absolutely lovely...a refreshing change from the "attitude" of most staff in Miami & Brickell. We finished off our epic "pseudo Caribbean" day at TDT with another serving of the infamous street corn! We can't wait to come back. Thanks again Tashi! read more
Can't go wrong with the fish tacos (MaHi was an up charge). Don't expect authentic Mexican food- it is very commercialized. But you're right on Ft. Lauderdale blvd with the beach just a few feet away. Their frozen margaritas were delicious (about $22) each and they have Happy Hour All Day. read more

Great food, Mango smoothie, vibes, and service - thank you Maddie! Tables were a little sticky. read more
This is an over priced (even for the area) excuse for a tourist trap...at best. Where to start...dirty, that's a good place to start. The tables where sticky, messy and generally looked dated...from around the late 70's. The whole area smelled of dirty bar towels and soured liquor, which is truly unexpected from an open air restaurant on the beach. Next...the margaritas were horrible. To the point of almost being undrinkable. We ordered two flavors, both of which tasted nothing like the names would have you assume. One tasted of cheap (or fresh, but beyond its date) sweet and sour mixed with the floral scent of off the shelf turpentine. The other had less of the mix, more of the turpentine! The yucca sticks are ok, but just ok. I can get a whole bag of them at any local markets freezer section for $3.99. The "dipping sauce" was over bearing and crude, over powering the sticks completely even with a small amount. The Korean Tacos, well, they were edible. The tortillas were standard, food supplier tortillas. The chicken was no different than the "grilled chicken fajita" meat from the center isle at Walmart. It has NO place in a restaurant, none. No flavor, dry and spongy (how can something be both dry and spongy, scientist have yet to explain that!)...not a good base for any dish. The accoutrements were decent and fresh, how ever, not what I'd typically expect on a Korean taco...many of which I have had. The sauce was store bought, but not awful. Our server did his best and he did (kinda) warn us, so we should have said no thank you and walked away! He did a great job and tried to make it a pleasant visit, he is the reason there wasn't a 1 attached to this reviews. Great view, good service...that's where the compliments end! This is one of the few establishments we will not probably return to. For a $100 tab we received a saddening, disgusting, fresh from the freeze truck excuse for a meal...even without the stomach sour drink "special", we paid too much. (We visited around 11pm, no crowd, on Saturday the 27th of November) read more

We worded a steak burrito and the there was barely any steak and all rice. There server never came back to se show the burrito was. The ambiance was beautiful but the way they handled our issue was up to par. They offered to ad sore steak but not fix the actual dish. They acted lien it was our fault that it's been eaten a while when the server didn't come to help in a while. read more

Where is the best place to park near there?
There is some street parking and garage parking available.
Has anyone tried to contact this restaurant in the past week? I have been trying to call for a week and can't get anyone on the phone as well as their voicemail has a different number on it. I wish I could show up there but I live in a diff state.
This place is the worst when it comes to service. We sat down and witnessed 6 other tables get approached and served before anyone even acknowledged our existence. Then when the waiter did come over to us, no apology, no "thank you for your…
