I've never quite experienced anything quite like the destruction that happened to my building. They were hired to give the walls one more coat of paint, as there was already one coat on the walls. They were also to prime and paint and caulk all of the trim. After the two people took over three days to hardly paint 1000 ft.², Jay, the owner, was trying to hurry along his painters as he had taken on another job, as many contractors do. And instead of finishing the job to any kind of standard , he brought his two 14 year-old boys who have never touched a paintbrush in their life to paint. between Jay, his two 14-year-old boys, the two original painters and another employee that he had brought over they managed to slop paint all over the hardwood floors. The amount of chaos and lack of leadership was truly astounding. At one point, I caught Jay the owner using a can of spray paint primer inside the house at which point it got all over the Hardwood Floors and the exposed brick wall. This guy has no idea what he is doing at all! I ended up finishing the job myself, redoing a ton of what had been "done" and had to learn a new skill in stripping and refinishing hardwood floors at an additional cost. He had the audacity to tell me that this was all somehow my fault. But really there is simply a lack of competence and accountability. I have never experienced something quite like this in my life. It was truly, a simple paint job. I would never hire these people, especially Jay, if my life depended on it. Edit: Jay will say that I needed to prep - but there was zero ask of draping floors. If they ever needed something to be done, we always did. Like when they showed up without their tools to do the job - we went and purchased rollers, brushes, etc out of our pocket to get them started (should have been my first red flag). They also left those out uncleaned and with a quart of paint in the tray so they also ruined our tools. The job never changed. Not ever. It only changed when he couldn't finish a simple job and he had to move onto another job.

At the end of June I received a quote from and agreed for Brotherz Kustom Koncept to replace the…read moresiding and build a small patio on the back of my house. The quote was $900. We agreed that I would purchase the material and the owner, Keith Mattingly, offered to pick up the material in his truck and store it until we started the project. I purchased $412 worth of material on 6/25 and paid him a $200 deposit via CashApp on 6/26. I was going out of town shortly after this happened and we scheduled for him to start on the project on 6/29. He never showed up. I reached out and when we spoke on the phone he apologized and said he could start the following day. I left town that Tuesday, but told him he could go ahead and get started on the project because my neighbor would be home and I trust her, and my brother would be by while I was away as well. He chose to wait and scheduled for 7/4. I told him he didn't have to work on the holiday because he said he normally takes that time off, but he insisted and I was available, so we scheduled for 7/4. When he didn't show again, he said he wasn't finished with another project and had to push mine until the following Monday, at which time I'd be out of town again. When I turned on Wednesday 7/8, I still hadn't heard from him. He text after my calls and finally said he'd call me after his "class". He never did. I reached out again on 7/10 and told him I felt he was ignoring me and that he could just refund my money. After that he responded with some nonsense and scheduled for Sunday 7/19 at 8:30am. By 9:45am on 7/19, he still hadn't shown up. I called him and he said they'd be there around 12:30pm after church and lunchtime. At 3:14pm, I sent a CashApp request for $612 (my deposit and cost of material) and text him asking for my refund and telling him he shouldn't have agreed to complete the project if he wasn't willing or able to do it. He finally text me back, denied the request, and was belligerent. He said he was going to return my material for a refund, but he is obviously not a man of his word and that never happened. I filed a dispute with CashApp, but they will not refund my money. Keith has now blocked me on CashApp so I cannot request the funds, his phone goes directly to voicemail, and he is not responding to text. All that to say I would NOT recommend BROTHERZ KUSTOM KONCEPT AND KEITH MATTINGLY FOR ANYTHING! He's unprofessional, he lies, and he stole money and material from me! IF he responds to this review, he will not take accountability for any of his actions and will probably try to make it my fault instead of his own. (I called and left him a voicemail and sent a text that I'd be posting a review of my experience). Save yourself the trouble and money, and find yourself someone you can trust. **Notice his response: more lies! I never paid with a check. I sent money via CashApp! And in a private message he threatened to have his lawyers contact me for harassment! I've never been a liar and never expected anything for free. Stop it!**

Before the work was started, they said if it wasn't fixed they'd come back out. After getting paid, they said their work was not guaranteed. They compared themselves to doctors who get paid regardless of wether or not they solve the issue. They said they would come back and look but never showed. Later, I diagnosed the problem myself and had a contractor come out and repair the issue. While it is true they charge similar to doctor's rates, the similarities end there. Understand that if you hire Mr Handyman, you are hiring unskilled labor to work by the hour. If you know exactly what needs to be done and you need someone to shovel a ditch for me instance, they would probably do ok but expect to pay a lot for a ditch digger. #mrhandyman is not so handy.

Which was NOT an issue. What IS an issue to me was I was then met with the comment we don't wear ponytails or have chains on our pockets so we stay pretty busy they are clean shaven. I was confused with the comment so I asked him if my request give him the impression that was what I was looking for, but also why would a ponytail and a pocket chain make a person less professional? Call another company. This one couldn't have been less professional if he tried.
