You definitely get a lot and it's a bit cheaper than some other places around the boardwalk. Our group had some water ice (which they source from Philadelphia water ice factory. It's so good, banana split was pretty intense, the right flavor and not too sweet and the famous Dugout ice cream, which is mint chocolate chips with whipped cream The portions are enormous! Anywhere that has classic, current and 2008 World Series Champions Phillies pictures will forever have my heart. Oh, and they sell ice cream too. I had more fun looking at all of the pictures. The lines can definitely get a little long, especially if people are ordering made-to-order sundaes. The small cup of ice cream has 3 scoops and is about $3 or $4. Win win. Let me start by saying that I really want to like this place. However, I've come a couple of nights and they've been short staffed. The waits can be long and the way they handle crowds are arbitrary. For example, sometimes they may have two people help one group, and other times they might all of a sudden switch to split servers up between groups. If you're stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time you're going to wait a very long time. So the ice cream? Solid. Not great, solid. Chocolate peanut butter is loaded with peanut butter. Mint chocolate chip is a bit weak. Hot fudge percentage is a bit light. However the ice cream is very reasonably priced. Extra star for the baseball theme. read more

Got there right after open on a Monday night so there was no line or anyone else. Felt bad because there was 1 girl working the counter trying to figure out what my indecisive kids wanted. This place was recommended by Yelp and Trip Advisor as a staple to Wildwood tourists, so we figured we would try it. I ordered pick up the first time and unfortunately there were no spoons or napkins in the bag which kind of sucked, but luckily our hotel was right around the corner so we just walked back for utensils. The second time we ordered from Uber Eats and utensils and napkins were provided which was nice. I think my order was a little off the first time, I ordered java chip and toasted coconut (first photo) and my son got a mix of flavors (strawberry, vanilla and chocolate) and the second time we ordered (of course he got the same thing) and I just went with the toasted coconut. The toasted coconut is absolutely amazing and I would *highly* recommend it. I took some photos of the inside (seating was not available due to COVID) but I was happy to see they still had the decorations up which made the "Dugout" ice cream parlor a pretty cool and memorable spot. After a boardwalk visit with the kids, they begged for some ice cream and The Dugout did not disappoint. The staff (all working teens) were courteous and helpful. My kids (and wife) all got exactly what they wanted with a large selection of options to choose from. Always wanted to try this place but never stopped. Finally went tonight. Perfect spot, quiet area off the boardwalk so parking is easier. We had 4 items, with extra toppings and a sundae it came out to $19. That's pretty great to me! The flavors were good. We had vanilla, butter pecan, sherbert and chocolate. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. They opened at 7 and I got there a little early so I waited until a few minutes after 7. I walked in and half of the lights were off and the employee was on the phone. He looked at us like we weren't supposed to be there and like he was annoyed by our presence. He asked us if we could come back in 15 minutes even though they are supposed to open at 7. We did not go back, we went to another place instead (wild scoops, it was great!). Came in with 4 adults and 5 kids. Young girls inside were very nice and helpful. Sat outside and made sure the kids cleaned up after themselves. After my boys threw out their trash inside (didn't see any garbage cans outside), one took off down the street. As I raced to get him, I noticed a cup of water and a napkin still on the table but my sons safety was more important. About 4 blocks into our walk home a young boy on a bike stops us and tells us that we were disrespectful and rude for not cleaning up. Informed us that people that work there now need to clean up "our mess". Apologized for leaving the cup of water and napkin but he continued to berate us on what a mess we made. I've been to this place several times in the past and never had a problem. I took my mother, sister and her four children here for soft serve ice cream on July 7th. The young teenager who served us told us that they did not have any chocolate soft serve ice cream so we ordered vanilla. As we started eating the ice cream we all noticed that something didn't seem right. The ice cream had something in it. It was a tannish color and had the consistency of sand or saw dust.
