My family comes here year after year to enjoy delicious ice cream and tradition. The menu never changes, and there is no need for it to. They are well known for their ice cream, waffles and ice cream, as well as sundaes. The portions are extremely big. Now coming as an adult, I still order off the kids menu, due to the large portion size. The kids menu is for one to two adults to split. The adult menu is more for two to three people to split. Same for the waffles. A half of waffle is for one to three people. The full waffle is best for two to four people. This also makes it a family friendly restaurant because not everyone needs their own ice cream to fill that sweet tooth craving. The lines can be very long, but the workers move as fast as they can to get everyone served as quickly as possible. There are tables outside and inside to eat with groups. Did you know that this amazing ice cream place also rents bikes? We decided to rent bikes for the week since the shared ride scene is not really happening at the shore, and we had such a great time. The rate was reasonable and the bikes were awesome! They had three gears, a basket, and tires that can't go flat! It also came with a lock. They also had dollar lights in the front and back. They were in great shape. But more important than the prices and the product, was the customer service! The people here were beyond friendly and so accommodating. Just all around nice people. These types of businesses deserve good customers during this pandemic! We come down once a year and a weekly bike rental from Hassles will be our new yearly ritual! read more

Ordered the the small Death by Chocolate Sundae with Oreos, whipped cream and a cherry. It was only $5.50 for actually a pretty large portion which was great as well as the staff was very kind being family owned and run. Bike Rental prices were good too being cheaper than most places, would definitely rent next year on my trip next summer! What stood out the most was the miniature gold course that was unlike any other with a classic set up that mirrored most vintage courses. It was only $7.00 per person to golf. The second best ice cream I've ever had! (The best is Iceberg in Lavalette, NJ- go immediately if you haven't been). Ahem. Back to Hassles. The first night my friend and I went it was super crowded, but I was helped almost immediately because I knew what I want (they let me cut in front of all those ice cream-indecisive people!). I first tried 2 samples, Peanut Butter Pie and the Mint Chocolate Chip. The sample sizes are ON POINT! A full, regular-sized spoonful of deliciousness. The mint was tasty, but I'm a fiend for PB, so that always wins out... The kiddie size is the "smallest" - and by small, I mean 2 heaping, large scoops. The best part (aside from the taste) is the price. $2.90!!! Kohr's charged me $5.75 for a small, tasteless PB soft serve (avoid Kohr's at all costs!!). The Peanut Butter Pie is great!! Lots of PB flavor, large Reece's Pieces cup bites, and some sort of pie crust pieces(??).. It was delish and a kiddie cup was more than enough. On our last night in Wildwood, I tried the S'mores and Pistachio. Both were sooo good. S'notes especially had just the right mix of chocolate and marshmallow yumminess! I asked for a regular size cup (3ish scoops) and they accommodated my request for 2 separate cups (1 with PB pie and S'mores, the second with just Pistachio).. some flavors just can NOT co-mingle, you know?! Service is super friendly and quick (and again, the sample sizes are a decent amount). Can't wait to come back to Wildwood for the beach.. and ice cream!! There are a ton of ice cream places on the island, but this one really stands out. The reason it stands out...the WAFFLES!!! You can smell the waffles cooking from outside. The sudaes are delicous and have names like the Brown Derby and the Dune Buggy, but the waffle sandwiches are sublime. Truth be told they don't make their own ice cream like some of the other places boust about, but being homemade doesn't really seem to add anything and Hassles isn't as touristy.
