Then the food arrived & was scrumptious from the first bite to saving room for dessert by getting to go boxes for the other 1/2 of our meals!! I had the French Dip which was yummy steak bites & a good au jus. My hubby said his Toasted BLT one of the BEST he's ever eaten....and it's his favorite, so he's had a LOT of them!! His coffee was good & hot and went perfectly with his Cherry Rhubarb Pie with ice cream! I got the Chocolate Pecan Pie & it was Very Good too!! This is a hidden gem in this small ranching town (pop 300) outside Cody, WY. We were headed home to Colorado from Yellowstone and decided to stop and eat lunch at whatever food and lodging off ramp that came up..voila! Meeteetse, Wy. We ordered 2 French dips and the cheesesteak sandwich...we knew we had stumbled on something wonderful when the waitress asked us, "how would you like your meat cooked?" What?! A French tip without shaved, pre roasted meat?!! The cheesesteak wasn't strips of London broil? Nope all the sandwiches were made with fresh, not frozen flat iron steaks. Cooked exactly as you order it... which is imipramine to me as I like my meat seared lightly. The chef/owner came out to make sure mine was acceptable considering the rules regarding rare orders... it was perfect. The family moved to meeteetse five years ago to be closer to their mother/mother-in-law and the wide open spaces..they saw the bar and its potential. The rest is history. My wife and I stopped here on our way back to Casper from Cody. My fishing guide recommended as the best food around and should not be missed. We were not disappointed. The Elkhorn cheese steak had chunks of delicious and tender steak along with peppers , onions and cheese. My wife's burger was done perfectly medium without her having to ask and it was the first time in years that she finished her meal. Like all the reviews say, definitely the place to stop whether you are just traveling through or your destination is Meeteetse. I ordered the wild burger (60% bison and 40% elk) medium rare and a side of onion rings, it came out medium, so it was a little dryer than I would have hoped and the side of onion rings was a pretty small portion, 2 or 3 more would have made a huge difference. (those two things are the reason why I dropped it a star) Besides that, the meat was a very high quality and tasted fresh. My father ordered the Elkhorn cheesesteak, medium rare, and man was that thing delicious! Amazing taste, very flavorful and hands down the best cheesesteak, him or myself have ever had. This place is a locals spot, but the staff makes you feel right at home, service was good, place was clean and had a cool vibe going with it. Overall, this place is a must stop. Decided to stop for dinner on our way home to Cody. We were a bit reluctant at first because of previous reviews that mentioned smoking. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We entered a single large room - the front half is the bar (no one under 21) and back half is restaurant. There is no partition, just a sign overhead. There was no smoking in either area. The whole place was very clean (including restrooms). The food was better than expected and was served in very generous portions. The flat iron steak sandwich was really tasty, moist and seasoned just right. No sauces or condiments needed. They have a small kids menu too. We would definitely stop again on our way through town. read more

A hidden gem! I go through Meeteetse WY a few times a year and usually don't stop to eat until I get to Cody where I am usually disappointed. This time we stopped here and I was expecting ok food and ridiculous prices I got the BLT (to be safe) and my wife ordered the Shrimp Tacos, to which I said "are you sure about that" thinking there's no way they are any good. When the food arrived we took one look and said "where are we", large portions, great presentation, and delicious, even the side salad was fresh and delicious. We are already looking forward to our trip back home in a few weeks when we will definitely be stopping here again. Might I add the service was fantastic. read more

What a great place in a cute little town of Meteese. I didn't expect much from bar food but everything we had was fantastic and the service was great too. We tried their Rueben egg rolls because they sounded interesting and they didn't dissapont. We also split French dip sandwich and it was right to the point. Ordered a side order of onion rings for $6. When order came only 3 regular sized onion rings. When asked the server if that was correct the answer was yes ony 3 onion rings per side order. When clarified and asked if the price was really $2 per onion ring & only 3 onion rings in a side order of onion rings the answer was yes! And the server was irritated at the question. $13.95 for a normal sized reuben sandwich served with french fries and smallest order of french fries (maybe 10 fries) with a sandwich. Soda was flat without enough syrup. So for a Reuben sandwich, side order of onion rings, one beer and one soda that bill was $26.00!!! This is highway robbery. read more

I'd give this place a 5 star except they allow smoking in the bar, which is not seperated from the dining area. The best cheeseburger I had in Wyoming. The inside is decor of dead animals dressed up with funny items and boots and cowboy hats hanging from the whole ceiling. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go-to dinner spot. Our son ordered mini-corndogs because he's nine and ... thats what they order. He loved them and even asked if he could order more. I was going to order him more but noticed that the waitress had asked him if he wanted a few more corndogs - he of course said yes. Within minutes she returned with more mini-corndogs! For that alone, I would return! I tried the elkhorn cheesesteak (medium rare) because its not something that I can order in South Florida and I was amazed how wonderful it was. I frequently order Philly Cheesesteak when I am in a meat mood but this was like nothing I have ever had before. We visited this place two more times before leaving town. I ordered their Wild Burger, (ONLY because they were out of steak lol) and that was amazing as well. If you happen to be in town, you will not be disappointed by stopping here. read more

We stopped here on a Friday evening after visiting the town of Kerwin. The service was terrible and we were all but ignored. The locals received fast and friendly service, while we waited forever to order and forever and a day to be served. Our beers arrived shortly before our food, which took an hour for a burger. Good regular old food. My husband had the flat iron steak and he said it one of the best steaks he's had in a while. Again nothing fancy, but a good hometown meal. I had the ultimate ham and cheese sandwich. It was huge with a thick slice of ham, 4 cheese slices, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on homemade bread. Rachel and Magnum run a great bar and grill! We came in and had a burger and a ruben and they were both stellar! The only thing we would have changed is the fella who waited on us, (James or John?) Was pretty lack luster and while the service was good, we felt like he didn't want us there. However, The establishment so CLEAN! Even the bathrooms were spotless and well stocked. (especially compared to the cafe across the way, which we also ate at, and wrote a review) Rachel, one of the owners was so accommodating and knowledgeable, and her husband, Magnum is not only one heck of a cook, but he also brought our food to us and checked to make sure we were doing alright throughout the meal! They serve the best food in Meeteetse, hands down. We will be returning to this quaint little bar and grill next year! read more
