I have driven by the Elm Estate and was enamored by the venue right away driving to my car shop. Luckily there was a Summer event that took place pre Pandemic. For this event- The Art of Fashion, it was an ongoing Thursday event for the month of Artown. I loved the variety of drinks being offered and there was happy hour until 5:00 p.m. The one I ordered was like an adult Capri sun. They had one food truck on-site which hopefully for future events there will be more offerings. But the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. Now I know why there are many weddings that take place here- it's something out of a fairytale. There is variety from the indoors to walking outside and being surrounded by nature. I'm happy that it looks like they will continue to hold more upcoming events throughout the Summer! read more

This venue deserves more than 5 stars! If you're getting married and looking for a venue- this place is it! You needn't look further. This was the second place we checked out and I immediately fell in love with this place. We had two other places we were going to tour but ended up cancelling because we just knew the Elm Estate was where we wanted to celebrate our special day! Why? Many reasons but for one - this place has it all! Not to mention the property is just absolutely beautiful! Ceremony, reception, and even lodging onsite- which not only made it convenient but unique too. Secondly what really stood out was - you truly feel the Elm Estate is invested in making your day one to remember! When you book with them, you have 3 detailing meetings, including an opportunity called "mixology" to sit with the bartender and customize your cocktails. We mostly worked with Emma and Shannon and they were very responsive and accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process! Bridget was our day of onsite coordinator and she too absolutely made our day flow smoothly and beautifully. They add so many special little touches that make your experience feel VIP! If there was one downfall -I would say it was not being able to access the bridal suite (which by the way is stunning and everyone girl's dream aesthetics) until 2pm and having to do makeup and hair offsite instead- it made the logistics a bit challenging, but I guess that's what booking the cottages was for. It also always means a lot to me- when the owner of a business, personally comes and introduces themselves and checks in with you to make sure everything is good! All our guests loved the venue and we know we picked the best one! Elm estate and the staff truly exceeded expectations and helped make our wedding day a perfect one!! read more

The Elm Estate played host to Jessica C's wedding - one that was elegant, sophisticated, and gorgeous. There were a lot of wonderful touches that stood out against other wedding venues I've frequented. Everything inside the couple's suites were meticulously crafted to feel like you were the richest person alive, the outside ceremony area was beautiful, and the dining area was well lit during the day and wide-open in the evening. They even provided heat lamps in the evening and during cocktail hour when it got a bit breezy. From what I could see, the staff members here were great at ensuring our couple of the night and their guests were taken care of. Getting a glimpse behind the scene, my friends seemed they were well taken care of by the Elm Estate as they were preparing and rehearsing. During the party, bartenders were a blast and there always seemed to be someone higher-up watching over to make sure things were okay. Wait staff was on it and we never felt like we were waiting too long for food or to have our plates cleared. If I could mention one thing is that the entire estate felt very much catered to straight couples tying the know. However, there's nothing preventing queer couples from using any and all the amenities offered - I bet you'd just need to speak with the owners and negotiate what parts of the estate you'd be utilizing during your big day. 10+ stars The Elm Estate is easily the best wedding venue Reno has to offer! You get what you pay for and while it's one of the most expensive they make sure every detail goes exactly as planned. Every staff member down to the janitorial staff is extremely friendly and seemed genuinely excited that we were getting married. Emma was a rockstar and made sure to communicate with us frequently on what to expect and reviewed every detail to make sure we were on the same page. Staying at the tiny homes makes the experience even better as it allows the bridal party to come together and alleviate the stress of wedding day transportation. The biggest complaint I've heard is that the bride doesn't have access to the main house until early afternoon; however, we paid a little extra to get access in the morning which was definitely worth it! We loved this venue for the EDAWN event last month. They arranged catering with a delicious paella chef and amazing cocktail menu. We loved the outside grounds, we wanted to spend the whole day there. We are definitely considering this venue for future corporate retreats. read more

If I were single and wedding venues were women, I'd marry this one. Really, I would. Let me tell you why. Vesta and I had done a few weddings there, when it was the Chism House, and we liked shooting there back then a lot. Plus, the large open tent they used for receptions made for plenty of light, so we didn't have to use a flash during the reception till it got dark. So, I'll admit I might have had a bit of a chip on my shoulder when we got here last weekend to photograph Carlee and Charlie's wedding, but the three people, Casey, Heather and Amanda, who were on site to make sure everything went smoothly, wiped away all of my misgivings. Right off the bat Heather told Charlie and his crew that she had beer in the pool room, which was where the groom and his men were going to get ready. And, she added, that if there was any particular beer or spirit they'd prefer, SHE GET IT for them. That's like rock star treatment. Now for the venue itself. The old Chism house was pretty neat, but the Elm Estate people turned it into something spectacular. Just look at my photos and you'll see I'm telling you true. And where the tent was is now a large building, so okay, we gotta use a flash in there, so it's a good thing we know how to do that. The new building comes with a fully stocked bar and two of the best bartenders we've ever come across at a wedding venue. Actually, they're right up there with the best we've ever encountered in a bar anywhere and Vesta and I are bar people. The main house, which you can rent for the night if you're getting married there, is a dream house. I can't imagine a better place to spend your wedding night. Okay, Versailles maybe, but that's a long way a way. Buckingham Palace too would be good. That's a bit closer than Versailles, but still it's far away. The venue is wonderful and it's right up there at the top as far as wedding venues go, but what puts it over the top is the care and consideration Casey, Heather and Amanda give not only to the Bride and Groom and their crew, but to us too and to all the guests. If you're getting married anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, from Wyoming to California and on up into Canada, you should check out the Elm Estate. Heck, if you're in Paris and can't get Versailles for your wedding, you can come to Reno and get the Elm Estate. Really you could and you'll be glad you made the flight. I went to an event at The Elm Estates in February. It was amazing! I was greeted at the door and they offered to take my jacket and hang it up. We were then offered to either sit, go to the bar or just walk around. The place and decor was beautiful! So classy and elegant! The food and wine choices were superb! Who ever chooses the vendors does an amazing job! I would absolutely recommend this venue for any event coming up! We enjoyed our overnight stay in the Elm Estate Cottages. The cottages are elegant, comfortable and extremely clean. Wonderful touches to make you feel welcome. We were able to order craft cocktails that were prepared in advance and in our refrigerator waiting for us! We sat outside at the fire pit enjoying the beautiful grounds. I got a chance to visit the Elm Estate while attending a recent awards dinner. Though I didn't tour the entire facility, what I did see was impressive. Beautiful landscaping, and very modern amenities that compliment rather than completely replace the heritage architecture. Management and staff were on the ball with excellent service. The Elm Estate was recommended to me by a friend as a potential wedding venue. It was the first on our list to visit and once we saw it, we were set, and had to look no further! Arriving at the Elm Estate alone made me think 'wow!', then touring it and being treated like royalty throughout the entire wedding planning process really made this a magical place for a magical time! Casey has always been so warm and welcoming, as well as extremely professional, she truly made us feel like family. She and her phenomenal team made this wedding planning process a fun experience and it seemed like stepping into a fairy tale bubble! Everything was perfect down to the last detail. They work with several vendors in the area on a regular basis which makes finding a suitable one easier, they take care of the catering no matter how lofty the couple's wishes are, came up with a signature drink just for our wedding, and fed and 'watered' us throughout the morning of the wedding while we were all getting ready at the Elm Estate. The bridal suite even had a breakfast buffet with champagne and fancy Rose! My husband and I had the opportunity to visit The Elm Estate for a wine and food pairing at a special event called "Love Bites". The evening started with unique hors d'oeuvres that were wonderful along with music from a very talented Flamingo guitarist who doubled as the DJ throughout the event. The wine and food pairings were perfect together and the entire staff made us feel like we were their special guests making it a fun and memorable evening. We were interested in the Elm Estate for a wedding venue. The grounds and event spaces are nicely remodeled - beautiful house to get ready or stay after the wedding. Not a great area of Reno but seems to be improving. I am leaving two stars due to the lack of responsiveness from the event team and zero transparency into their pricing. You are given a contract with the venue fee and are required to sign and leave a deposit before any food and beverage pricing is provided. This works for unlimited budgets however is a non starter if you're trying to manage a budget. I have also not been able to receive a response to questions asked and therefore we are happy to move on and look at other venues. read more

We got married at the Elm Estate this Summer and it was such an odd and terrible experience. The property is beautiful and the Owners were nice to talk to the day of the wedding but unfortunately leading up to the wedding there was a lack of communication and I always had to call them to get information. There was one point where my Husband and I thought we were going to have to take legal matters because we had paid our deposit and then heard nothing but silence for 10 weeks after trying to reach them 6 different times. We finally had to show up unannounced and our questions were answered. On the day of the wedding I felt that we were being chased around by Casey Hall and not allowed to actually enjoy our wedding. She was not helpful to my mother in law and family members and made it difficult for our wedding videographer's and photographer to do their work. The photographer and videographer's approached me many times throughout the day to let me know. We spent our reception trying to navigate around the Elm Estate staff who gave us many expectations and rules that I felt kept us from our guests. The staff had made promises to help and make sure everything was taken care of with our family and ourselves, but in the end just didn't pull through and was rude to my mother in law and aunt as they were helping us load our vehicles after the night was through. The Elm Estate is a beautiful Venue that unfortunately has very terrible management and does not have a consistent staff. Every part of our planning was dictated by someone who was just learning their job, and the next time I would try to contact the person they were no longer with the venue. If I were to plan my wedding again I would go through a different venue. The stress of planning a wedding is enough without having to deal with a businesses own short comings and mismanagement. read more

I never once stressed that we missed any details or that our special day would not go as planned, and I was not let down. Our beautiful ceremony and reception went off without any hiccups and we could not have been happier with the results. The venue is a lovely set up for a wedding site. Our issue revolved around lack of communication. It didn't matter whether you called, e-mailed or texted, the response time was either extremely long or no response was received. We hope that since more staff have been added that going forward this issue will be resolved. A few friends had a great idea to get a table for a wine tasting event that happened to fall on a snowy evening. It was the perfect place to be cozy and enjoy a night of dancing and dinner with friends. The food was catered by Roundabout Grill and was completely different from their normal restaurant menu, which we enjoyed. A small California winery supplied the wine tasting.
