My brother and his wife got married here! As a wedding photographer myself, my photo + officiant team was able to capture this wedding--and the officiant made everyone cry in a good way ;). My husband and I recently got married here and it was absolutely the best venue! We were so so so happy with our decision. It was definitely less expensive in comparison to some of the other venues in the area. Brittney was amazing to work with! She was so responsive and friendly! When she was out, Christy was there to help us out who was also amazing! Seriously the best team! The view is breathtaking both inside and outside. Our guests were all in shock and still talk about it months later! While the grass area seems small, we were able to comfortably fit over 100 guests. Don't underestimate it! Also I'm still obsessed with the interior!!!! It's so worth checking out at the very least! The food was amazingggg!!! Our guests also can't stop talking about this! They've all said this was the best wedding food they've ever had. I have celiacs and they were very accommodating. They also have a bunch of vegetarian options. You get to try a lot of options at the food tasting which was very helpful! I promise you that you won't go wrong with the broccoli!!! Everyone went wild about it! There's not a single person who hasn't talked about it, even the people who aren't big veggie people were obsessed! Also the chicken was phenomenal! It's not far from downtown Reno. We stayed at the GSR and rented charter busses for all of our guests and it worked out perfect! It's not a super windy road, but definitely half way up the mountain. I could not have asked for a better winter wedding venue! This space has is all. The musician had a space on the deck overlooking the crowd. The backyard has plenty of space for pictures and for the ceremony. The Mountain View behind our arch was stunning, even on an overcast day. The indoor space is beautiful, with the entire back wall of windows and the gorgeous fireplace. Our wedding was small with less than 40 people but they still made it feel like we filled the venue! I also loved that a lot of things you could "do yourself" - other venues required an LLC for EVERYTHING but we did so much ourselves which really helped on cost. The food was also INCREDIBLE and you get to join a free tasting with friends with was not only helpful but super fun! Christy was super friendly and helpful, able to answer every question we emailed to her over the year and met with us twice in the planning process. They even let us come and decorate the day before the wedding which was a HUGE stress reliever to not have too much to put out the day of - the only negative we had was that on the day of when the groom, florist and bridesmaids needed to coordinate with Brittney at the venue she was giving a tour at the venue and unavailable to help which was a little strange since they definitely knew the florist was coming the day of at 1pm. Finding a venue that was the perfect blend of modern yet rustic, while also being small enough to not feel tiny with only 40 guests was a bit of a challenge - but Tannenbaum turned out to be the perfect place. The food from RoundAbout catering was FANTASTIC, the venue staff (shoutout to Christy and Brittany) were amazing and the day was absolutely perfect! We had our ceremony outside and the reception inside. Planning from out of state with Christy required lots of back and forth with questions, as we didn't do an initial walkthrough in person - but she was quick to get back to us on anything that we asked. Recently visited the Tannenbaum for a wedding. It was a beautiful venue! The views are absolutely gorgeous. The inside is very spacious, plenty of room for all your needs. The girls working the bartending were incredibly nice. they were in a great mood all night. When I asked if it was possible to leave my car overnight, they were really supportive and sweet about it. The only downside is the drive. It is pretty far with windy roads. It does make for a beautiful scene but it's a little hard to fully enjoy the party. Overall, super beautiful! read more

I have never reserve this site personally for an event yet. But I have attended three events here in the last year. A Yelp ISC, a Reno Bites Week dinner event and an open house. The venue is a beautiful lodge nestled in the pine trees part way up Mt Rose. It has full windows on the backside looking out over tree covered mountain and the Washoe Valley below. Today I really received a nice tour and learned more about what the Tannenbaum has to offer. I was surprised at how many it could seat inside for a formal dinner- over 200. And the level yard outback is the perfect location for a romantic wedding venue, seating another 200. If you are planning a wedding there, it is well equipped. Downstairs there is a bride's room with full bath, mini kitchen and mirrors to get ready for the big event. And the groom's room? It's a man cave. The groom and the guys have plenty of space to get dressed in, enjoy a cocktail from the mini bar and even play some last minute foosball. I will be singing the Tannenbaum praises for the rest of my life, it was the best wedding decision I made (besides marrying my husband). The whole crew is nothing short of incredible to work with- the food? amazing. The views? amazing. They're responsive, and take care of EVERYTHING for the wedding. I do mean everything- tablecloths, beautiful set ups, forks, napkins, waitstaff, bartenders, alcohol, food. Literally all you have to do is write a check, let Christy (a wedding superstar with the best attitude ever) know how you want your day to go and show up to the wedding. The rest Tannenbaum takes care of. We had to change our ceremony venue last minute- and I do mean last minute, as in 24 hours before. We called Christy and within AN HOUR- literally ONE HOUR she had everything replanned. And it was wonderful. I could enjoy my wedding day. No one had to set up anything, no one had to clean anything, all everyone had to do was show up, enjoy the day, and leave. What more could you ask for? And our pictures were incredible- everyone got seconds, thirds and fourths of the food. I can't say enough how incredibly wonderful this venue is- every step of the way. I'm very sad to write this review but my husband and I were due to get married at Tannenbaum in June 2020. I am not somebody to write negative reviews unless I absolutely have to but I think that this is worth reading from a bride's standpoint. The Tannenbaum staff was awesome from the time that we booked up until a few months before we had to reschedule/cancel our wedding. Due to COVID-19, we had to think about rescheduling our event because we had invited over 120 guests. First, they did not want us to postpone but they kept it in our hands. It wasn't until I had several of my vendors contact me about the fact that we were the largest wedding to still happen in June at the time. When we consulted with the venue manager, she informed us that Tannenbaum would have to charge us the 2021 prices if we chose to postpone our wedding until 2021. Now, they did offer us to be able to reschedule for another 2020 date. However, we were coming from Sacramento and we had family traveling all over California, not to mention that I am a teacher so getting married in the middle of the school year just isn't realistic. While I appreciated them offering 2020 dates, I let the venue manager know that it would not work out for us to get married on any of the available dates for 2020 not to mention the snow season (realistically we knew that with Covid going on it was unlikely that we would be able to host that many people in 2020). When I found out that they would have to charge us 2021 prices to postpone our wedding, I was pretty upset because obviously with Covid going on there's a lot out of our hands so I was hoping that the venue would accommodate us the following year. I was able to talk to the owner of Tannenbaum and unfortunately, she was unable to secure our price per person, our deposit for next year, and our site fee for the next year. This meant that we would have to pay the difference in all of those price points that we we secured in 2020. We completely understand that she has a business to attend to and she needs to keep the doors open, however, it was super upsetting to my husband and I that she seemed very non-empathetic to our situation and could not work with us to keep our site fee the same as 2020, the deposit the same, or the price per person. We loved Tannenbaum because of how beautiful it was and it was super affordable for where it is located, but because of how they acted during a worldwide pandemic to their clients, we decided to cancel. Even when we emailed in order to receive our deposit back, they were very cold with their response and did not offer us good luck or that they were sorry that it did not work out, they simply asked for a mailing address and that was it. My reasoning for posting this review is to let other brides know how they treated us just two months before our wedding. I truly Believe that it speaks volumes about a business to see how they treat their clients during a time where little is in our control. read more

My wife and I got married here in September and it was great. Julie and co were responsive, helpful, pleasant and generally on top of things in the months leading up to the wedding and on the day itself. The venue is up Mt Rose Highway, so a bit of a drive from downtown Reno, but it has this great view looking out over the forest and onto south Reno and we had our ceremony in the back yard where it was all on display. The interior looks great as well, very woodsy and with this big stone fireplace. Bridal suite and groom's room are both nice, out of the way and stocked with good stuff. There are three things about the venue that limit options, and none of them were a problem for us at all. One was that you can't hire your own caterer -- at least when we were planning our wedding, you had to use Blend Catering. To be clear, Blend was fantastic, delicious and a decent price. The second thing is that we couldn't stock our own bar, we had to go through the venue, which did add some cost for alcohol. Not a super large amount, but more than if we could have bought in bulk. Their selections were good and nobody complained. Plus one guest was able to bring a bottle of scotch for a corkage fee. Third thing is simply that the location of the venue can present some transportation challenges. We ended up arranging our own shuttle, which worked out, but the distance to hotels just means people will have to drive. If there were ever any concerns or problems, the venue helped tremendously and helped facilitate a great wedding for us. I definitely recommend. read more

We hosted our daughter's wedding 2 weeks ago at Tannenbaum and friends and family are still talking about the wedding! Many said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The ceremony was outdoors and the reception was held indoors. Many commented that the view was just spectacular and the food was absolutely delicious. We had visited 3 other venues but knew right away that Tannenbaum would be the one. Christy, the venue manager was a delight to work with, very professional and very friendly. The venue was not only beautiful but very well maintained. Everything, including the restrooms and the bridal and groom room was very clean. The staff were also wonderful for the whole evening, very polite and attentive. In fact there was a waitress who made sure I tried every appetizer that we had ordered! Such attention to detail! When we started our search for a wedding venue, we were not expecting to fall in love with Tannenbaum - but were so happy we chose to have our wedding reception there! Our guests were blown away by the stunning view, and the lawn, deck, and interior gave us plenty of space to build a memorable experience for our guests. Christy was fantastic to work with, excitedly joining in with our planner to brainstorm ideas and offered up a surprising amount of furniture and accessories all included. She was open for anything, even running with our plan to build out a retro arcade room inside as an after dinner surprise for our guests! Beyond the great venue, we loved working with Tannenbaum's food vendor, Roundabout Catering, for our food selection. Our guests raved about the food being some of the best they've had at a wedding. We highly recommend the sushi, tandoori, and s'mores food stations; our guests loved them! We also adored the bartender that Christy lined up for us. He blew our guests away with his skill and attention to detail, preparing custom craft cocktails to fit their personal tastes which was perfect for our prohibition era theme for the first half of our reception. I've been here several times for weddings and special events. The views of the valley were quite nice, especially at sunset. The venue itself is fine with a great location half-way up Mt. Rose (convenient for both Reno and Tahoe residents), bathrooms were well-maintained, the interior roomy for an intimate wedding. I would suspect more than 200 guests would be difficult and crowded. Hard to rate anything else without taking other factors into consideration, such as outside vendors who provided the food, decoration, etc. read more

If you're looking for mountain rustic that's not too far from Reno, this is your place. We instantly fell in love with the views, being nestled in the pine trees with a view of Washoe Valley, and knew this was the place for us. We wanted to do an outdoor ceremony with indoor reception and this location catered to that perfectly. A huge plus was allowing our dogs to be a part of the ceremony. The staff was exceptional. On the day of, they ensured the wedding party was catered to and had everything we needed. Christy and Brittney, the main points of contact, were extremely communicative and kept us up to date on time frames throughout the whole planning process. My wedding was at the Tannenbaum. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. During the planning process, the staff was more than helpful on provide answers to my questions. They were helping in making recommendations on who to hire around town for DJ, flowers, etc. One the wedding day, the staff set up everything for me. I dropped of all my decor on the rehearsal and on the day of everything was in place. When the cake and cupcakes arrived, the staff set this up as well. Was a guest at a wedding held here and thought the place was absolutely stunning. A bit of a drive from Reno but its beautiful and totally worth it. Large dining area and ceremony held on yard behind building. Views of Reno while we played corn hole in the back. Got a chance to take a peak at their bride and groom suites and well they nailed the grooms suite on the head with a pool table and lounge area for while they wait for the ladies to get ready. While the Tannenbaum is a beautiful venue for a wedding, I"m not impressed with their business practices. I booked a wedding for December and put a $1500 deposit down. The wedding was cancelled less than a week later. I spoke with Julie at The Tannenbaum and she assured me I would get my entire $1500 back. A month later and still nothing. None of my phone calls were returned. I finally called my credit card company and they returned my deposit. The next day I did receive a check for $1000, not the $1500 I was promised. Such a beautiful venue run by the worse owners/management. Julie is the owner of this establishment and tries to portray herself as just an employee. We booked New Year's Eve 2015 here, and unfortunately had to cancel. We put a $1000 deposit down in JANUARY and contacted her in April to cancel. She didn't respond to the first message. I again wrote her 4 days later to cancel. Then she said she'd send us a check of our refund. 11 days later she says she hasn't even mailed it yet! Still waiting on a refund... Will we ever get it? Or do we need to get a lawyer involved? I can't believe the unprofessional environment she is running! Is this a business or a scam?!? We are canceling our venue because she wanted us to pay $35/person for the open bar. Which was great except I'm not paying that for kids who aren't drinking. She treated us like a couple of dumb young kids that didn't know what they were talking about! I'm not down for being scammed! Especially when it comes to my wedding! This place is a joke! Unless you're ready to be screwed to the max on your wedding day do not book here! The only reason they got one star from me is because I had to leave a star!!!! We attended our nephews wedding here this weekend. The venue was lovely, we had appetizers and drinks on the lawn outside with beautiful views. The reception was held inside, very welcoming atmosphere. The food was served family style. We received a bowl of salad to share for 6people, which amounted to one ting full of salad. We were by passed for rolls and requested them 2times before finally receiving some after out entree was served. The next to arrive was asparagus and potatoes, followed by tender trip tip, about 10 min after receiving the vegetable dish. The tri tip which equal led about 3 slices per person was accompanied with a horse-radish mixture that was quite good along with roasted red peppers slices. There was not enough horse radish to go around so we requested more. We were told they had run out. We realized that we did not have salt or pepper shakers at the table. We requested both and were provided with "bulk" salt and pepper in plastic cups to be served using our fingers. While the ambiance was very nice, this venue could be a little more generous with their "family" style service, more attention to service by the staff, and a larger dance floor for guests to recall enjoy this event center. read more

We had a November wedding reception at the Tannenbaum and everything about it was perfect! Julie Nobis made sure every detail was taken care of and it was such a pleasure to work with her. The room was absolutely stunning when we walked in and our guests have not stopped raving about how beautiful and wonderful everything turned out. The room was filled with candlelight and flowers and the seating arrangement was perfect for our 100 guests. The food was delicious as were the cupcakes.
