Superb evening at this sleek and modern lounge and restaurant in the lobby area of The Embers Hotel. We weren't expecting such a high level experience when we first booked a stay at this newly finished hotel. Classy cocktails, beers, plenty of wine variety, you name it. Went with the Old Smokey as a starter. An old fashioned kicked up a notch. The house smoked maple syrup and charred orange peal knocked his cocktail out of the park. I could smell that smoky flavor from the other end of the bar as it was being made. Bartender was super friendly and had some great mixology skills. We opted for apps all evening, but can't wait to come back and try some more of the menu. The homemade bread is a must. These puppies come out hot and steaming, with this amazing bacon butter to lather them in...outstanding! Our server also recommended the mushroom pate. Mushroom pate you say?! Yes, yes I do. One of the best pate's we've had in a long time. Super flavorful, creamy and smooth. And the homemade chips sticking out of it were the bomb! Then the goat cheese fritters...I had to battle my wife for these flavor bombs. This place is outstanding and not many people know about it...yet. Great Idea, great location, awesome ambiance. Terrible execution. Started dinner with our waitress telling us they were out of 2 of their 4 entrees, they were out of 2 beer choices and 1 wine choice, and also out of a shareable. All on a Saturday night. The waitress told us they were out of all the items because it was recently valentines....? A week prior. Quality of food when it came out was subpar. Prime rib was very fatty and steak was somewhat hotel banquet quality. Definitely the quality of the food didn't represent the prices. I felt like we overpaid for items I didn't even really want to order because they were out of most choices. The waitress took also about 20 min per ask- drinks, ordering etc. read more

My wife and I went here for dinner last Thursday night. Had a cocktail at the bar which was excellent. Moved to our table, my wife ordered the Orecchiette with Chicken added, which was plentiful and tasty. I ordered cider braised pork shoulder, and was expecting a couple of slices of meat. What I got was a bowl of broth with some shredded pork, and some rice. Definitely less than I expected. I should have sent it back and ordered something else, but I did not. read more

We were seated by the hostess right away. It was not that crowded yet and she asked us what table we wanted. She was very considerate. There was a real fire lite in the fireplace. The atmosphere was very nice. Our waitress, Angela was one of the best we have ever had. She payed attention to every detail. We loved our meal. It was delicious. We even got to meet the Chef, Sean. Lovely restaurant with fantastic service. Now known as the Embers Restaurant and Bar. The menu is somewhat limited for breakfast and the bananas foster pancakes images on Yelp are from the previous restaurant. They do have a fantastic peaches and cream Belgian waffle. We had multiple meals here when we stayed over. Christmas. Service was always super friendly and attentive. Food was amazing each time!

We decided to try the Embers since the next door restaurant wasn't seating walkings anymore and we are glad we did. We order a trout dip which I've never had one before but it was really good. We also ordered the pork tenderloin and the roasted chicken and they both were delicious and cooked perfectly, lastly we tried the s'mores pudding and we love s'mores so we definitely enjoyed it, the service has great from the hostess to our server Isabella that was nice and attentive. We will definitely recommend this place and maybe next time we'll stay at the hotel. read more

The Embers has a lot going for it, but the dinner food and the wine pricing are not among them. Location: Killer in all respects!! Patio: Absolutely wonderful, complete with a well-located, wood-burning fireplace Bar: Terrific atmosphere with a great list of snazzy drinks. Food and Wine: Now the drama begins (see attached photos) ... On a Wednesday evening I ordered the beef fillet and a glass of the Paso Robles Austin cab, and my wife ordered the trout. Both entrees came out looking strong, but my "medium-rare" beef came out cooked "well", and my wife's trout was thin and small-portioned. I have never sent a steak back -- ever -- but I had to this time: it was not edible without even a hint of pink. The kitchen promptly brought me out a properly cooked steak, but they also bought me back my original veggies. Hmmmm ... hot steak and cold veggies?!?! Couldn't they have zapped the veggies a bit? Wine: The cab was excellent! So good that I took a photo of the label so I could purchase some, which I was able to do. The problem is that a full bottle cost only $17, but each glass with my meal cost $14. To me, that markup is a bit heavy. Sorry to say, but better options exist in Blowing Rock for food. However ... a fancy cocktail or two on the patio is probably worth doing. read more

We've really enjoyed the new Embers it has a lovely bar area & table seating in side + a few tables on the outside patio where there is a lovely wood burning fireplace. We've had an excellent breakfast there as well as lunch and several dinners. Inventive food options & attentive service. It's a welcome addition to Town. read more

Just not good from food to service. Tried for breakfast, and dinner , also lunch when they used to serve lunch.. Same very poorly prepared food The bar was ok, but they have huge staff issues, so we don't go there either. Drinks are strong, but the food was bland. Three of us had the highly recommended pork chop. Apparently, they ran out of seasoning. The brussel sprouts were dry and flavorless. The ambiance is casual, low-light and cozy but the dining area is rather small and open so it can get pretty noisy. We ordered the Ricotta & Mushrooms for an appetizer and it was divine, wonderfully rich and savory. We also shared the Marinated Beet Salad and I couldn't get enough of it! The fresh Chèvre with the pickled beets was pure heaven. For dinner we ordered the Pan Seared Trout and the Turkey Meatloaf - ok, now both of these dishes sound kind of basic but trust me, there was nothing basic about these! The trout was perfectly cooked and spectacularly balanced, the flavors were incredible and I even saved some of the Mushrooms and Ricotta to smear on the fish, party in my mouth! The Turkey Meatloaf I was blown away by because it was so unexpectedly delicious! This is not your mama's meatloaf y'all! The food here was exceptional. I had the Turkey Meatloaf and the Pappardelle with Short Rib. Both were great. The pasta was cooked just right and they definitely didn't skimp on the meat. The meatloaf was full of flavor and the mashed potatoes were silky. The service was amazing and our waitress, Kim, was very sweet and kind. She knew the menu very well and was great at making suggestions. The food came out quickly, but nothing felt rushed. To start, the dining room was very spacious and nicely designed. Even with it being a multi use space for a hotel you can tell it was very well thought out. Kim was quick and attentive, at the same time she made great recommendations and I ended up going with the Braised Short rib.
