This is by far my favorite place for specialty drinks in Central fl! I absolutely love everything about Calypso, from the sisters who own and run this spot to the drink names and the amazing combination of flavors they create. The flavors are big and bold but well balanced and nuanced. From teas to coffees they have something for everyone. The service is always on point and they are so helpful and friendly. If I'm ever stuck in what to order they have never steered me wrong! Sit for a while or grab and go, but make sure you take a picture at their photo wall. The coffee they use is top tier and they ethically source their beans (which if I remember correctly it's their family's farm as well.) It's the only place we buy our whole beans for home brewing. I'm not a coffee person but Calypso's coffee is so good I happily order it over a tea. If you haven't had the chance to check them out do yourself a favor and go! Unique and colorful coffee shop in Apopka! Puerto Rico owned. In a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. The inside is decorated so fun! Not a ton of available seating but enough! It's a small, cozy coffee bar with a really good vibe, definitely the kind of place you'd want to relax or catch up with a friend. They have a scannable menu, which makes browsing easy, and a nice selection of food and drinks, including some unique specials. I tried the Concha from their Hispanic Heritage menu, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Soft, flavorful, and just the right touch of sweet, highly recommend it if it's still on the menu! Do not let the decor delude you into thinking it's just another coffee place. There is something quite special about this place. They source their beans from their family farm in South America, you can buy them to bring home and have the most beautiful cup of coffee yourself. The staff is lovely and knowledgeable. I have found where I will source my beans whenever I am in town. I had been meaning to stop by and I was greeted by the owners which are nice, friendly, welcoming and happy to make any suggestions. The shop is open with inside seating and the decor is cute. The owners told me that their drinks are inspired by Greek mythology, which makes it interesting. The also bring their coffee from their own family farm! Super cute coffee bar and I love how it is a family business that they soured their own coffee! We got a flight of 4 different coffees which were all so yummy! Loved the Calypso and the creme brûlée! What I will say, the flight was WAY over priced. It was $25 I thought for that price we would get full sized coffees, but we got tiny ones. Probably paid $25 for 2 shots of espresso total so for me personally that was disappointing. Could have paid the same price for 4 full size coffees so I don't know why the price was $25 for the little ones.... Overall I'd come back and try some more coffees. I've been wanting to visit Calypso and finally had the opportunity to today. I had an amazing experience! The shop is so cute and well decorated. The mermaid vibes are amazing. The parking is also great. The staff were very welcoming and helped me navigate the menu. They gave helpful recommendations. I ended up selecting Aphrodite's Love potion, a white mocha latte with rose. It was absolutely delicious. The coffee is the highest quality. The rose was floral, and not too overpowering. The drink was sweet, but not overly sweet. The whip was a nice touch and they put dried rose petals on top. It was absolutely perfect. I'm excited to come back and try more. Calypso is a small locally owned business. They're an amazing choice if you're trying to support the community and avoid corporate coffee. read more

Came in here with my husband to try their famous coffee flight and grab breakfast. Although I love the concept of the coffee flight, the price shocked us. I do understand it is because 4 craft coffees are created for this, but it cost more (double) any beer flight we've ever had. The coffees were all delicious (the Calypso) was my favorite, but they were all SUPER sweet. They all felt like dessert drinks. Just keep that in mind if you are getting a signature drink. I don't like sweet coffees so it felt overbearing after a couple of sips. For the flight and an avocado toast we paid $50 which felt kind of crazy. We wouldn't do that again, it's more of a novelty and I'm typically a simple coffee girly. The service was good (a little slow) and the location was cute. I'm not sure if we'll be back because there are other craft coffee shops that are closer to home that cost less. read more

I lived in Antigua, Guatemala for 3 months so knowing this place has their own family farm in Guate was also pretty special to know. This was my first visit to Calypso and definitely won't be my last! We got to meet the owner who told us about her new business with her sister and how their beans come from their family's farm in Guatemala, and a portion of their proceeds go directly back to Guatemala as well. They have coffees and matcha available, and even a coffee flight which I'll have to try next time. They also have coffee beans available to buy to take home. For food they have a selection of sandwiches and pastries. I ordered toffee nut cappuccino and it was SO good, definitely amazing quality coffee. I also enjoyed my bacon egg and cheese sandwich. We went in the late morning and it wasn't too busy and service was quick and friendly, and parking was easy. Small family owned coffee shop at the end of a local strip center. This place was nice, but I don't rate it at the 5 stars everyone else has. I have been to better. I think my rating is based more on expectation. The coffee is good, but not as unique as I would have expected for a place all but 2 people gave 5 stars. Seating is limited, but probably adequate for the area. They serve a wide variety of coffee drinks and limited food menu. They offer 2 egg sandwiches and 3 others. They also have a variety of baked goods and bottled juices. I had the Cuban sandwich, a latte, and cheese danish. A little disappointed as I expected something more 'gourmet', not the generic commissary style sandwich especially at the $10 price point. Baked goods are the same. Good, but nothing special. I think if you like specialty coffees (syrups, fancy, etc.) this place probably delivers. I saw one of the coffee flight go out. Very interesting and well presented. The folks who ordered it really seemed to enjoy them. Service was good as well. If you are in the area and looking for more than your average Starbucks or gas station brew, stop in and support the family. I recommend it. read more

This place is new to the area so I'll give them a slight break. The place is chaotic, from design to seating arrangements. People standing in the middle of the already small aisles (which I don't believe a wheelchair user would be able to comfortably get through), the menus are scattered throughout the place and near the register some horribly scanned copies are taped down. There's no food menu and the pastry case is on the opposite side of the bar so you don't really have an opportunity to look before ordering. The service was pretty slow considering they weren't very busy - 10 minutes for a Chai. The food was very mid, see below for the hockey puck of a sandwich, the croissant was hard, just go buy yourself a jimmy dean sandwich at this rate. The onion bagel was clearly sitting out a very long time because it was stale. The potential behind this place is definitely there, really cute coffee names and options, which is why I came here to begin with. Hopeful they can make changes as they grow and become better. read more
