They broke my watch. Digital watch. It just needed a battery. It was working when I gave it to them. but the light wasn't working. They made me wait more than half an hour and then they gave it back to me, broken. He said he tried to insert a new battery and it didn't work. He had no explanation. The representative said they would see what they could do and call me. The representative was so kind when she called, and said that their jeweler would replace the crystal for free as a courtesy. It can be hard to find this level of integrity and customer service that was demonstrated to me. I highly recommend this business for repairs, buying beautiful jewelry, and for picking up their unique one-of-a kind gifts for the person who may have everything. If I could I would give this place a million stars , no lie! This may seem strange but I go here for all of my watch needs! I've brought my mother's Fossil watch to get the battery replaced and they did it within 15 minutes and the price is very reasonable! I have a Fitbit blaze and have bought various watchbands from amazon in different colors like silver, rose gold, gold, and black in here to get the watchbands adjusted. They took care of it in about 15 minutes and again charged a reasonable price. The people that work here are super nice and always remember me when I come in which is awesome! I needed a watch battery replaced, and stopped in a couple jewelry stores in Lakeside. Both said they would have to send my watch out, and it would cost at least $70! One of the employees at Lee Michael's suggested I go to The Engraving Company and they could replace it. I really need to thank her for that tip, since they replaced it that day, a busy day for them, but they had it ready in 45 minutes, for $18. I went back the next week with another watch that would stop periodically, and told them I didn't know if it was a battery dying, or the watch needing repair. They told me they would take a look, to come back in 15 minutes. When I did, they had "demagnetized" it and said that would probably take care of the problem. NO CHARGE! As a tournament fishing capt i travel a lot, and i dropped off a dive watch for repair prior to leaving for CABO. I was unable to get back for it for a few months. When i got back for it today, the entire staff happily helped search the inventory for it (i didn't have my claim ticket) and once found, the owner was so concerned about the freshness of the battery since it sat for so long, he eagerly put in a fresh battery for me without me even asking! The entire engraving co staff is awesome and i would give them 100 stars instead of 5 if i could! I was in need of adjusting two watches. Since I frequent Lakeside Mall I was directed to this location by several watch sale-persons. My instructions were: "add two links to both watches". The sales person recommended I try them on to confirm and also agreed this was best. After 30mins I return, the silver watch fit perfectly, the gold still too tight. I informed the sales lady who passed on to the watch-repairer "you didn't add a link" to the gold one. There's two links in the bag(she gave me for my leftover links). I leave and return and my frigging watch is even *TIGHTER*. I displayed my failed attempts to secure my watch to the sale-person who again instructed "Add a link, not take one away, he can't even get it on!". So while waiting for this extra attempt, I see a nice Movado in the display case. I have never seen this model before so naturally I ask for help, "What is the model for this Movado?". Sales-person had no idea so she shouts to the back, WHATS THE MODEL FOR THE MOVADO IN THE DISPLAY CASE??". The Watch-Repairer shouts back, "I DONT KNOW, TELL'em TO SEARCH IT ON HIS COMPUTER!!". I wish I had read the negative reviews of others before I went here! This store damaged the watch movement and lied about it when they were asked to change the battery. They then said I needed an entirely new movement and wanted to charge over $125 to fix what they had done. I went to two other watch companies who showed me the scratch to the coil, which was not there when I brought the watch in to simply get a battery replaced. I don't usually write reviews but think it is important for others to know that this is very shady and certainly not good customer service. BEWARE if you decide to use them for battery replacement. Any ethical place would apologize and fix the damage they had done. I had to take the watch elsewhere and pay for The Engraving Company's mistake. DO NOT USE THEM for battery replacement. read more

Extremely satisfied with my final result. We had a tumbler engraved and told them what we wanted. They write it down and showed us the slip; asking for signature on that's what we wanted. Turns out something was spelled wrong but couldn't read the cursive. Discovered this upon arrival to pick-up... Even though we had "signed off on it"; both the salesperson and I couldn't believe Heroes was spelled wrong (heros). Therefore, they gave me a whole new tumbler with the proper engraving. NOW THAT IS SERVICE! Will certainly return for future business... read more

Go anywhere else!! Horrible (nonexistent) service and poor workmanship. I took my watch in to be repaired- and the gentleman who was helping me was very new and didn't fill out the ticket properly, requiring multiple back and forth a just to take the watch in. They wouldn't give me a price (or even a rough estimate) to fix a simple rivet but said it should be done in one week. He told me I'd get a call the next day to get the price estimate and then after I confirmed they'd begin work. I wait 2 days and no call- so I call them. After a back and forth (at first he still wouldn't give me a price) he gave me a price I approved. When I came one week later, it took him 10 minutes to FIND the watch, (which had me more than worried since it is a $10k watch). When he found it, NOTHING had been done to it. No piece had been ordered, nothing. When I asked about why nothing had been done he became defensive and disrespectful, in no way apologetic or admitting to the poor service. This repair was supposed to use Breitling parts (so that it was back to original condition). Since they did nothing in the week I was there he quickly (in 10 minutes or less) repaired it with parts he had, so now the rivet sticks out and looks horrible, catching on my sleeves and is clearly a poor repair job. They still charged me full price for this bad work! So now I have to take it to a different jeweler to have it repaired or send it back to the manufacturer. The work is beyond poor. Do not do business here. They have no follow through, customer service or clear system for their work/repairs. I'm fortunate my watch was only poorly worked on/neglected and not lost completely. I brought a necklace for a simple repair. Instead, the pendant was severely damaged because of some serious misjudgments. Mistakes happen, but what bothered me was how things were handled in the aftermath. I was not consulted about the repair and no one was in contact with me during the process (as promised). I had to call a number of times to check what was going on. The employees promised me that they would find a solution that was agreeable to me and that their manager would follow up. That has yet to happen. The only reason I am rating them two stars instead of one is because the employees are nice people. But the company did not handle things professionally. read more

My 16 yr old has seizure disorders. Epileptic and PNES as well as other diagnoses and mood disorders. Since his diagnosis of Epileptic seizures last year we have been searching in stores and online for an alert bracelet that he was content with wearing daily. Just by chance we rolled into the Engraving Co. My first question,while trying not to be distracted by all of the "beautiful merchandise I wanted", was if they had alert bracelets. To make the story short my son finally found the one and the next day he is wearing his new alert bracelet. Thanks to the Engraving Co. The staff was so friendly even though my 3 yr old was causing a scene. The price of the bracelet and the engraving was so reasonable considering the ones we found online thru different companies started around 40 just for the bracelet that would last my son a long time. Very nice store, they have all kinds of things. Went in just to kill time, ended up finding a cake cutting set for my upcoming wedding. Bought the set, added on $15 for the engraving. The next day at pickup time, our name was spelled wrong. No big deal, it happens. They tell us to come back tomorrow. We do & they told me they don't have it bc someone didn't pickup their packages? Wasn't really clear. They apologized, told us they would call when it arrived. 2 weeks later...still no call! So I went in there and asked for a partial refund, they STILL DIDNT HAVE IT READY. Idk what the mix up was but it was very frustrating bc it wasn't a cheap purchase. The manager (I think he may have been the owner) apologized again, told me to come back in 30 mins for a brand new set. They called me & told me it was ready. I go back & asked about that partial refund - just the engraving fee bc that's what seemed to be an issue - they only refunded me $10 but hey a win is a win. read more

This place was amazing! I went in on Thursday looking for a special present for my niece but not quite sure what I was looking for. After deciding on a necklace that was very reasonably priced, I was unsure what I wanted it engraved with. The salesman was extremely helpful with walking me through to a final decision. Even asked how old my niece was so that he could give me the best length chain. It is not often that you have such a wonderful experience with people in customer service and seeing as the present was a gift for my niece on her first birthday without her daddy I could not have appreciated it more. To top it off the necklace was ready in less than an hour. Will definitely be returning! read more

This store was recommended by my jeweler to replace my watch battery, which they did at a reasonable price. The staff seemed friendly, so I returned a few times. I had a scratched crystal on a watch face, which was replaced and my husband has a collection of watches that needed minor repairs, so I returned a few more times. They forgot to replace the battery on a watch, but I was charged. I didn't notice until I got home that the battery didn't work (links and pins were also repaired and I looked mainly at those repairs, but I should have checked). When I returned with receipt and watch, they questioned me and didn't want to admit they forgot to change the battery. I had to convince the 3 employees/owners that I wasn't scamming them out of $12. (After spending $50+ on the other repairs). I eventually got the battery replacement I paid for originally, but won't be returning to be embarrassed like that again. (They did repair a broken link on a delicate necklace for free at same time, but I would have gladly paid for work they did, without the argument over the battery charge.) read more

I've only had a handful of things repaired by them, but each time I was satisfied. I mainly go to his store for their gifty items. I like staying away from registries and this place has wonderful gifts for wedding showers! Even baby showers!! The little baby jewelry is to die for and the jewelry boxes...perfect gift! I had the opportunity to be in this place for some batteries replacement. They did the job. I went home and realized that one of the watches was not working. I came back with my receipt (proof of just one day before) and the manager (I heard his name is Mike) was inquiring about my watch and the battery. I explained him about the incident and he became very rude and disrespectful. He started ignoring me and became upset. I just left the store with a paid battery that wasn't working and a very bad impression of a rude man who believes pride and bad attitude is gonna take him far. Good luck to the engraving company and his manager. What a way to do business! $12-$15 is not worth his attitude toward the clients. Definitely, I won't be back to this store! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! May mother and I experienced the worst service and customer service that I have ever witnessed or received in my life. We brought a watch to this place because they said that they repaired watch glasses. When we placed the watch in their care to be repaired, they labeled it as "imitation"--unbeknownst to my mother at the time-- and kept the watch for two weeks under the pretense of ordering a new watch glass. When we inquired about the process of the work, they informed us that the glass that was ordered did not fit the watch because the watch was in fact NOT an imitation, to which we replied, "why would you assume the watch was an imitation." Perhaps something in our appearance engendered the assumption that a watch of this kind must have been an imitation. Moving on, they kept the the watch for another week or so, assuring us that the new glass would be ordered and the service would be complete before Christmas. After this week, my mother went into the store to inquire about the watch after we hadn't received an update as promised. When the store manager overheard my mother explaining the situation to an employee, he excused said employee in order to personally "handle" the manner. He began by raising his voice to my mother, saying that: the work isn't done, full stop, and it isn't going to be done soon; so you have two options lady, take the watch or leave it. I am so appalled at how this manager spoke to my mother, a customer, in front of a store full of patrons. He berated my mother when it was their mistake that created this whole situation. My mother told the manager that she no longer wanted to do business with this store, retrieved the watch, and brought it over to Lee Micheals where the work was completed in 4 days, in time for Christmas day. After some inquiry, my mother was informed that this engraving store in fact does not know how to do this kind of work and instead of being honest with customers, they take your property and piddle around with it while trying to find someone to outsource it to and then double charge you a premium for someone else's labor and their middle-man fee. Please be aware of the scams stores like this run on honest people. Go to a reputable store. read more

Was not happy with this place at all. At first the staff appeared professional and helpful. I went to have a man's wedding ring engraved for my upcoming wedding and gave them the information. The lady asked if I wanted the date inscribed. I told her, "I don't think it will fit but if it does then yes". She told me it would be ready in 2 hours. I paid my $60 and showed back up at the appointed time. The ring was a disaster. The script was so small I couldn't read it because they decided to put the date beneath the text. They claimed the entire thing would not fit yet over 50% of clear space was left on the ring. The designer stamp inside the ring was bigger than this inscription. To make matters worse, the staff tried to blame me staying I accepted the way it was written and signed the receipt. Well it NEVER stated they were going to do one line on top of another. They said it was clear to them so they didn't understand how I could think otherwise. They then offered to "fix" it by grinding out the screw up and redoing it. Well any fool knows that means thinning out the metal and creating a weak spot. And they had already screwed up once, so why give them a second chance?? Not to mention they wanted to keep the ring for 4 days. So, I told them NO and accepted the screw up. The ONLY thing they did right was refund the money but I think that was because there were other customers in the store because at first they were all "Well I don't know what to tell you. You signed off on it". Completely nice at first but totally rude when I told them they made a mistake. They made all kinds of excuses as to why it was not their fault and how it was MY fault. I am in tears at how they RUINED my future husband's wedding band and all they said was "it's just a piece of metal. It can be ground out and redone all day long". Well it may be a piece of metal to them but it was much more to me. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE EVER!!!! read more
