Only one staff lady reached out to see if i needed help on the first floor, no one else looked at me when i was checking things out upstairs but that's alright, i don't mind since i could cruise the floor in peace. The setups are nice and organized. The store felt really clean. The demo setups had some stylings that I could see in my own home. Given some of the prices of the dining room tables I would have to really be in love with the setup. They do have custom ordering upstairs where they have designers who can help you choose materials and styles. All in all didn't have a purchase today but i liked the store itself.

Peter was really challenged to come up with a plan to decorate my living room all the while my kitchen was being stored in my living room. This week was the big reveal. The living room is gorgeous! Its better than I imagined. Also, Peter was so patient and understanding while our home project took longer than we hoped. He stored our furniture for us until we were ready. The best part is that Peter worked with our price range and he never pressured me to buy something. He wants to make sure his customers are happy. But in the last couple years, everything's gone downhill. The furniture isn't just "gently used" anymore - it's flat-out DIRTY! I could even deal with that if they'd lower prices, but the staff's attitude is the real problem. Service quality varies between stores, but Hanover (my old favorite) has gotten terrible. I do NOT recommend shopping here. I'll sum it up by saying some of the staff are a little too outspoken and mean-spirited in front of customers. The last time, ever, I shopped at FCG was very uncomfortable. This store's management needs to remember that customers have ears.

One represents the year of the rabbit & the other, represents the year of the horse. At check out, both ended up being marked down even more than I expected ($17 instead of $25), though for some reason, one of them ended up costing more than the other? Both tags showed they were valued at the same prices, including the sale sticker price after 30%... but the additional discount was not the same for both strangely. Oh well. They also have licensed sports gear, Nike, adidas, underarmour etc. Kohls here has a huge Sephora in-store location as well which i didn't expect as the other one i go to does not have a huge one like this. What a fantastic new place for this antiques and interior design store that was formerly housed in…read morea tiny space in a random part of Hingham, and is now in a huge light-filled space in the pleasantly busy Hingham Shipyard shopping area. In addition to interesting items from the 19th century there is a vast array of mid-century modern furniture and accessories. You don't have to have a house or office entirely devoted to Mad Men sensibilities to appreciate this modernist aesthetic. The space is such that things have enough room to be clearly seen and admired. This is not like some antique stores which can be dark, and overly filled with items placed too closely together to get a proper perspective. The furniture, lamps, glassware, dishes, and art work are all spread out in a double-wide space with plenty of room and high ceilings making it easy to walk around and admire everything while imagining this or that in your own home. Peter, the owner, and his adorable assistant, the perky dachsund, make browsing a pleasure. Questions are cheerfully answered and conversation about art, decor and furniture flows. Right now I have my eye on a beautiful drafting table that can change positions allowing it be used as a desk. I just fell in love with it this weekend and will have to go back tomorrow for another look. Some of the prices are more on the high side than I think they need to be but I get the sense that the owner is ready to do business with the serious shopper. This store is lovely, the owner charming and many of the pieces are fabulous. I'm glad this place has been able to expand while still remaining conveniently in my neck of the woods. Dory brand, they had a pretty good selection. Hadn't tried Greek olive oil yet so we'll give that a go. Checkout was easy, spent some time testing out the furniture too haha.
