I think this is going to be one of my favorite spots from now on. I was a little afraid because other reviews about the product's info in Korean but the girls that work at the store are very helpful and all the displays have English info on the shelves, I had a great experience on my first visit very friendly, the store is small but very organize, clean and well lit, just remember that they do run out of some favorites but if you leave your information they will let you know when it arrives, the prices are afforables many of the mask sre $2 but some can cost a little more but still affordable. I like it and I will be visiting very soon again. Ps: Parking can be a hassle sometimes but I was lucky to find a spot in front of the store. read more

Apperently the second dude to review this place but gentlemen, skin care no matter how feminine it may sound is pretty important and should be part of our hygiene. Situation: The girlfriend and I decided to stay in town for dinner and wait for traffic to die down. Walked around ward and noticed a bright store. Disregard the name of the store I was interested and I guess I'm attracted to bright things. We went into the store and checked out all the different types of skin care products. I have no idea how to use and which skin care product to combine but my girlfriend and the staff were really helpful in determining my facial deficiencies and recommended products. We didn't leave that day with anything but plan to go another day to purchase the items we were looking at. Let's just say that I left learning that its OK for guys to take care of our faces. Pros: Bright and inviting. There is a tester for every item from cleaning to lotions, its like they want us to try the entre store. I don't know what the items are worth but they all have a fit and finish of something that should be priced the way they are. Cons: Everything is in a different language, I think its Korean or Japanese. Products offer a brief description of everything but they are vague saying like "uses marine energy to energize the face". Firstly, Mccully shopping center has terrible parking. If possible you should try come earlier in the day or you'll end up driving in circles trying to find parking. The stalls are terribly small and it gets frustrating. So now for the review. I've been here many times usually just to pick up the charcoal nose strip that they sell. They are amazing and way better than the drugstore nose strips. This past Thursday I went into the store in a rush. I tend to get hormonal break outs at least once a month. On a whim I quickly asked the girl what she would recommend to treat them. I wish I caught her name so I could thank her. She recommended the clean face clear away spot. I can't even explain how amazing this product is. If you have oily skin or just prone to breaking out and want them gone ASAP give this product a go. It works wonders. read more

Hello New Face Shop in a somewhat easier parking location! I came here on the 2nd day of their grand opening, let me tell tell you, this place was like sardines!! Holy moly, it was hard to get the stuff you wanted because they were sold out and since they were having some event and you get 20% OFF your purchase! hell yee! sucked for me I literally came here broke and could only afford the bebe lip mask for $2 and the other facial masks. Sad life. However, payday is around the corner so of course I will be back! This shop seems much smaller than the first location but seems like they have same amount of products? not sure. I loved how the manager was in front of the store greeting every woman customer left and right! and wth, women were bringing in their baby strollers up in here!! oh no honey why would you do this?! lol, as if the store was compact enough! This is my favorite Face Shop location. Less hassle, and easy access than the McCully Shopping Center, unless you're going to grub at the Curry House. I've been using FS products consistently for the last few years. I stock up on my staples when I'm in town, and try new stuff into my regimen. It's like any thing you put on your skin, sometimes it's super duper, others are like meh.. For the most part, everything is really affordable (unless you're dipping into the mature 'ajumma' skin line). I bought the Men's BB cream for the bff, and he raaves about it (he has some trouble skin issues). Apparently the men's BB cream is formulated differently for higher oil/sebum content, and has a more matte finish with SPF! This isn't your mom's foundation, think SPF moisturizer with smidge of tint and lots of smart science. Dudes, climb on board, it's not just for gay guys. I have combination skin, and the Rice Water Brightening line is amazing. I love the eye/lip make up remover. It's super gentle, works well in removing waterproof make up swiftly and leaves my skin soft without being greasy. The scent is really mild and pleasant. I also use the foaming cleanser. It works SO well. I tried the Mango Seed face lotion at the store, and bought it to try later. Smash cut to now, and it's kicked my Bare Essentials moisturizer to the back shelf. This stuff is good! Controls my oily t-zone, but it's really hydrating too, AND smells good not over powering. The face lotion doesn't have SPF btw. Night time, I've been diligently using the Chia Seed Moisture Holding cream and it is ooh-laa-laavly! It's more of a gel-cream, and has 100% Chia seed extract, paraben free, and my skin loves it. I'm pretty sure if it could, it would be doing the booty clap. Yo, I'd like to give a shout out to Chia Seed, word! I also use Chia Seed Watery Eye Essence, and it feels perrdy good on my under eye circles. Oh before I forget, their silicone padded eye lash curler (gold plated) works surprisingly well. It stinks like cheap metal, but it's kicking more ass than my Shu Uemura, so you know, damn, that's pretty impressive right? And just to clarify, I don't work for The Face Shop, but I am a proud product whore, and if it's good, I'm buying it, so make nice with your skin. read more

A friend and I were waiting to eat at Hot Pot Heaven next door and decided to mosey in here to see what it was all about. I have heard people rave about the face shop because of their cheap prices and SAMPLES! So, when I walked in, i was greeted by a face on a poster that I thought was a strange looking woman with short hair. My friend, who is half Korean, squeals, "OMG! Kim blah di blah blah." I once again assume this is a woman and ask who she is. She stares at me and informs me that this meticulously groomed woman in the picture with rosy red lips is indeed a male, and a popular male in Korea at that. Okay, then. I was definitely the only slice of white bread in the store, but I am totally used to that by now. I was immediately drawn to the entire wall of facials!! They are all only $2 apiece and each have different qualities for different types of skin. I stocked up. :) And then...OMG $2 nail polish?! Yes...it exists..and in the prettiest colors! I bought a baby blue with silver sparkles to layer on top. My biggest complaint is that the lotions, while packaged in the cutest little things like kitties and apples, smelled weird, and the face creams and acne care all had fragrance in them. WTF...you don't put fragrance in acne products!! The girls working were all very helpful and nice and were knowledgeable about their products. read more

The Face Shop is where it is at ! I heard of this store and passed by it many times but I never thought to go in until my bf's cousin told us about all the stuff she buys from in here. I loooovveee this store Me and my bf went kinda crazy in here. We bought a total of 4 masks, nose strips and a package deal they had for this month. And our total was $50 something for everything and it wasn't bad at all. We tried out the charcoal nose strip, my bf liked it you could see everything that came off. But because my skin is really sensitive, my skin kinda ripped off. They also have this lotion that removes all your dead skin. OMGAWWDDD I never realized how much dead skin I had until we tried it, it's a miracle worker and it leaves your skin feeling dry soft and clean. But we cannot forget their masks, it's like $2 a mask and they have mask for almost everything. We bought the Mung bean mask for oily skin. read more

I wandered in here after my visit at Waxing Co. and thought that I would find a store filled with products that I couldn't afford and was shocked to find products that were reasonably priced. I have products that I use on a regular basis and am happy with but I was looking for a little extra something for blackheads and the staff was super helpful in steering me in the right direction AND pointed me towards a lower priced product because she stated that it worked better. The sales associate are very knowledgeable and attempt to understand you skin tone or you interest in various product, however I could feel the pressure coming from sales associates to tell me about various products and essentially upsell. It seemed that some of the product I was initially interested about a total of 4 (a toner($28.50), mist ($12.00), cleansing water ($12.00) and lipstick ($19.00) color) was all out of stock. It's so nice having somewhere to go to buy Korean cosmetics rather than ordering online. Since their opening I have absolutely loved The Face Shop! Almost all of my friends have a membership card to this place. The staff is really friendly, nice, and knowledgeable. They're always there to help you choose something, or explain the benefits of a certain product. They were able to help recommend eyeliner for my mom when she started specifying what she wanted. The prices are pretty reasonable, and it's understandable that it would be higher than in Korea because of shipping. Love how they give free samples! Sometimes they explain what samples you're getting which is super helpful. BUYER BEWARE . . . ESPECIALLY IF PURCHASING A GIFT!!!! I received the YEHWADAM HWANSAENGGO Ultimate Youth Cream set ($99) as a birthday gift from my son. I tried the samples that he received and it made me break out the first time. I gave it a few days & tried the samples again, and once again I broke out. My son was not given a gift receipt, so I was unaware that there is a 2 week return policy. I didn't open the actual set yet, but I'm unable to exchange it for something else, so I'm stuck with $99 worth of product that will go unused. The store manager or supervisor on duty was unable or would now allow an exchange. VERY disappointed with the customer service and that the manager was not able to do something to accommodate the needs of their customer. With the number of store out there to choose from, the one thing that can make a store stand out from the rest is the customer service. This review is based on the scratch sale they just had. Talk about 101 rules. They had so many rules for this promotion it took the fun and excitement out of my experience. Here's some of the ridiculous rules.. They don't give you scratch card till you check out, you're not allowed to put anything back once you bring it to counter, you cannot ring up items separately, you can't add anything last minute....i didn't know you can force someone to buy something if they've suddenly changed their mind about a product.. On top of these ridiculous rules the workers were picking and choosing who they wanted to enforce them on. I went there a total of 4 times throughout the sale and each time i saw and heard them bend the rules when they felt like it. They let someone grab more items after they revealed scratch card, they let someone ring up items separately and pick a new scratch card for each item. They let people change their minds about items after they the junk scratch card. This experience makes me not want to go there for awhile. read more

almost 7 years ago i shopped here every time i went to korea to visit Joaquin. They were located on pretty much in every few blocks (like starbucks!) and had been the only place I felt comfortable shopping. The layout of the one in McCully shopping center is clean and inviting like the ones in Korea. I did notice that after my purchase there was tiny print of many more locations now. When I got to the store I was greeted by the workers and who I think looks and acts like the owner. I'm more convinced since he knew a ton about the products and the employees went to him with questions they weren't sure about. I initially went in to replace the old foundation i bought previously in Korea and left with foundation, nail polish, a multi-tude of face masques (for slumber parties), nail polish, and free goodies! If that's not a good sale, I dont know what is. Btw, I was able to try a lot of the stuff on with their testers and since buying them I've used one of the masques and tried the polish. They're just as good in quality as many of the well trusted stuff. read more

This place is like a Korean Mini Sephora, so much skin care products to choose from. The prices are pretty cheap here too !! Most of the products that I've purchased I have been happy with such as the Escargot Cream, Face It Extreme Eyeliner, Pearl Collagen Mask Powder, and so much more. I try to avoid some of the moisturizers though because they tend to make me oily. The good thing about this place is they give you little samples to try. I LOVE this store for their facial products. I am definitely a fan of their facial masks and black head removers. A tip from one of my friends- you can put the mask in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before applying it on to your face. It feels really good. They also have make up products, but I am not too crazy about them. I tried their CC cream- I think it only matches really light, fair skinned people. Hopefully, they will come up with more CC cream shades. Lastly, the staff are very friendly & helpful!!! The Face Shop is always so convenient to go to when you're out having a meal with some friends and you just need a quick shopping spree - you can't help it with the prices they offer! I come here often to buy nail polishes because the prices do not exceed $7 (for special colors/glitters). I'm used to paying for expensive OPI and other brands so the cheap prices and above average quality quickly pulled me in. The staff here are always so friendly and suggest to me various products to use for different types of skin for cleansers, very helpful! The only negative about this location is the horrible parking! The parking situation is a lot more manageable at the Ward Warehouse location. I will definitely be back at the store though! read more

After receiving the popular BB cream from my Aunt, I'm a fan of this famous foundation and decided to check out this store for myself. I was in awe of all the products there and almost felt overwhelmed. I had asked an associate for assistance, however they weren't that helpful. They just explained slightly more than what was stated on the box of a lotion/cream. Plus, they were difficult to understand with their Korean accents. I picked up a few of their $2 masks and so far they're OK, but not enough to purchase them again. I do love their nail polish, though. I read through the reviews of everyone raving on how they give so much samples upon making a purchase, but maybe you have to ask? or spend a certain amount? Today was the first time I set foot in The Face Shop. My-oh-my it was like I had a personal shopper as one of the sales gals explained products to me whenever I took a step. Every one there was quite friendly and helpful with suggestions for my skin type. I specifically stopped by to look for an eye make up remover since I have not had much luck with the ones I tried thus far. I normally use Clinique but it did not take off my Benefit mascara well. Since the prices were very welcoming, I ended up grabbing some facial masks (honey, cucumber, rice and green tea). I love love love that the products have natural plant, fruit, veggie ingredients. Loved the facial scrub, but I haven't tried the foot patch as yet. When I finally tried to use the body scrub, the pump didn't work. Called the store and received the most efficient customer service ever! With a curbside exchange @ Ala Moana and a generous bag of sample treats, I was on my way. To those who are looking for a gentle, effective scrub, the set of three is a great value: facial scrub - seriously gentle, yet with the smoothest results ever, + body scrub - feel it to believe it, + the foot patch = all included in the set. Korean products are the universal solution of all forms of basic skin issues (dry skin, oily, acne etc.) all products are very affordable for their great quality and the staff are always very helpful. (The only unfortunate thing about the face shop is that they do not make foundation or cc cream for dark or complexions this also applies to Nature Republic or any other Korean Beirut store on island.). of course that's no reason to take down the start because it's not their fault. All of the products are very gentle and the fragrances are never too strong also the make up is easy on the skin and subtle. Highly recommend! read more

I do not like the model for the Face Shop for two reasons: 1) He's prettier than me. 2) I envy his flawless complexion! Waaaah. I am a fan of The Face Shop because they provide my favorite face cleanser called Bubble Bubble. It is a foam cleanser packaged in a sea green container which costs around $13. Compared to the products sold at Sephora, it is hell of a deal. Not only are the prices cheaper, but the quality is even better. When I first tried Bubble Bubble, I noticed a tremendous difference in my skin. First of all, this soap does a fine job in removing makeup. Before Bubble Bubble, it was a common appearance to look like a raccoon or a druggie after rinsing my face due to my smudged eyeliner. It was a relief to finally look in the mirror and see a pale naked face. Secondly, this cleanser is very gentle and as a result, my skin feels smoother and softer. I could not stop stroking my face. Soft soft soft, like a blankie... but not fuzzy feeling! I also like The Face Shop's moisturizers. I use a pomegranate and collagen night cream for day and night and now my skin is constantly hydrated. I rate The Face Shop four stars, however, because although I enjoy many of its products, I have also experienced not so pleasant ones. For instance, one of the nail polishes could never dry!! It was ridiculous. Waving my hand as if it was burning, fanning my fingers , running around the house like an airplane just wouldn't do the job. Never will I buy it again I tell you. I was kidding about running like an airplane by the way. Need to set the record straight before you judge me. Also one of the face masks gave me a pimple!! A huge red shiny mountain on my forehead that screamed "LOOK AT ME!!" However, I will not bash the face masks because I actually enjoy experimenting with them. I have a feeling that one day I will find that one mask that envelops the perfect ingredients for my skin type. Bottom line: Koreans have nice skin for a reason, their face products are fantastic! The Face Shop provides a diverse range of products, so it is fun to explore and discover the numerous remedies and/or preventive care for your skin, or products that will help achieve your desired look. I love Face Shop! I was so excited when I heard they were opening a Face Shop in Hawaii! Face Shop is like an ABC store in Korea. They are everywhere and the prices are very reasonable! I got a face mask for $2 a pack, 2 round sponges for $2, mini scissors for $3 and face blotter sheets for $5 (100 sheets)! I just used the face mask the other night and my skin feels softer! I also tried the nose white/black head strip! It works well! The staff is very, very friendly and helpful! You can ask them about any of their products, their opinions and they know the answers because they also use the products. You know the products are good if the staff is also using them. The customer service here is great. The girls who work here greet you, are attentive, always ask if you need help, but never hovering over you while you browse. They also know their products. If you tell them what kind of skin you have, what problems you want to soothe or get rid of, they can point you to what types of cleanser, moisturizers, toners, etc that would or should work for your skin. I used to break out really badly due to stress, and eating oily foods. I've been using their products or a few months now, and my skin has really cleared up! I rarely break out. Of course I changed my lifestyle a bit to help. My skin type is a little sensitive to combination. I use the Chia Seed moisturizer ($24) daily. It doesn't dry out my skin or make it oily. The cleansers, I have tried the Olive, Charcoal, and Green Tea. My favorite is the Charcoal and the Olive. For $10 each, it's a little pricey, but it works so good, and it lasts awhile. Look out for their specials, they had the buy 2 get one free for the cleansers, it was a great deal! Hopefully they'll have it again soon before I run out! Their return policy is really good, and they are nice and discreet about it. I bought a face cream for my friend to try, but she didn't like it, so I returned it for her to get store credit. (Return must be within 14 days of purchase with receipt for store credit.) It was so easy, I let them know why I was returning, and they just whipped up a gift card with the price of the face cream. I ended up using it and bought some make up to try. I bought their gel pencil eye liner. It glides on smoothly, but make sure you let it dry for a few seconds otherwise it will smear. It stayed on almost all day and no smudging! YES another Korean Makeup shop! I am in love been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks, I am hooked. They have great customer service and the products are very reasonably priced. You must check this place out. The store seems to illuminate the feeling of fresh and clean, When you first step in you are promptly greeted and then you are overwhelmed and don't know where to start. Since I have been wearing Korean makeup products for years I was going there looking for certain things but ended up walking out with more products to try. I really like the face masks. They have many different ones but I am excited to try all of them. Well I bought almost one of each...oh gosh! Ok I never had a hand moisturizing glove thing. Ok that was cool. It really works too my hands felt real soft and I need to go back and buy some more. We need to have a YELP get together here. After curing our fix for Coffee or Tea? My best friend and I decided to check this place out after seeing their ads recently on the local Korean channel. Anyhow, like everyone else mentioned The Face Shop is basically a Korean Sephora. They carry things for your face, hair, nails, perfume and even a mens section. What I like about The Face Shop is that none of the workers are pushy. We walked in an was happily greeted by one on of the workers and if we needed any help finding anything to feel free and ask them. I was surprised at the selection of different products they carried, although I was surprised that they didn't carry the more known Korean brands such Etude House, SK-II etc. I was actually hoping they had my SU:m 37 skin care line that way I wouldn't have to spend time ordering it online. But from the looks of the variety of brands they carry, I might just switch to a new brand. I love, Love, LOVE how they have testers for their products because I always have wanted to try BB cream but never wanted the hassle of ordering samples online and paying for shipping. Everything is kept clean and not messy or dirty like how Sephoras testers would be. Though I didn't buy anything, my dear friend of mind did. Along with ringing my friend up, the cashier that rung her up also threw in a few samples for not only my friend, but also for me which was really kind of her since I didn't buy anything. Stumbled upon The Face Shop while having lunch at the shopping center. Walked in to see their products and noticed that they also carried a mens line. I was curious to see what actual products they carried. The associates were very knowledgeable and offered great customer service. The prices were also reasonable. I ended up purchasing a toner + lotion moisturizer for my face. I've been using it for almost a month, and I like how it leaves my face feeling clean, refreshed, and smooth. I really can't go in here anymore. If I do, I'm going to go broke. I've only been here once and I spent $130 my first time. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING. The girls were all super helpful. Like really helpful. And nice. And pretty. Rarely does the combination ever happen. I'm really grateful that they spent so much time helping me pick out everything I want. They were very patient and very thorough. I have dry skin and they help picked me out what they thought to be best moisterizer. They didn't even do that sleezy thing some retail stores do and pick out the most expensive one. Then, I needed BB cream and since I know nothing about it, I asked them for advice and they found one that matched my skin tone exactly. It was everything I wanted. All the products work really well, and they are super affordable. Some items are mediocre compared to their price (lip gloss, eye liner), some match it (moisterizer), and others are well above it (BB Cream, moisterizer-different kind then the one mention earlier). Yay, me! My second review on a non-food place! Visited here a week and a half ago, been waiting till I've actually used most of the products that I purchased to see "results" and write a decent review of it. So here goes! Right upon entering the store, we were greeted by very friendly employees who were so pretty! Oh gosh, they should have just told me what they use and I would have been sold. Anyways, my mom and I took our time browsing around the shop. For beauty products (especially from Asia--Korea to be exact), you expect the prices to be pretty off-putting. However, the prices here were definitely affordable and comparable to Sephora (yes, I shop at Sephora pretty often to know this and my wallet hates me for it). The face washes were around 8-10 dollars, not your CVS run of the mill stuff, and it SMELLS SO GOOD! I love waking up and smelling this on my face. It makes waking up in the morning a little more enjoyable. I got the acerola (fancy name for a specific type of cherry), and lemon one... So refreshing! Being a bit somewhat newbie at this face thing (not really novice) I just needed a type of refresher course in the daily face rituals that I would be engaged in for the following weeks to come (and until I run out of the stuff!) One of the workers were able to help me with this. She explained everything thoroughly, and showed us exactly what to do. Wash face (any type of wash will do), then toner (I got the "Clean Face Mild Toner" to help me since I break out every now and then), and finally the "Collagen" lotion that seals in everything (yep, gotta take preventative measures for wrinkles!) One thing that was learned, you can mix and match! Don't feel obligated to buy the entire line; you can mix around various products to something that suits you the best. Just like the face wash, this stuff is smells so nice! So glad my nose happens to be on my face where I apply this stuff. Ha! Besides just the fragrance of it, this stuff has actually helped my face become softer. Also, I noticed I have less acne than before (but this could be that I have less stress at the moment). I also ended up buying a nail polish with black and white confetti. It is SO cute. It goes perfect on solid colors if you want to spice up your nails. And it was pretty cheap too (I may be converting, sorry OPI!) I have used it, and though it was a challenge since some of the confetti sticks out; just a word of advice, be sure to manage it before the nail polish dries! I also bought my mom some products, too, so my grand total came out to about $150 (I am such a nice daughter, hehe). We ended up getting 6 free items (face masks, a variety of em) so it made me feel not as bad about dropping that kind of money on what I thought would have been a 10 minute "browse". My first thought was that this place is really expensive. I didn't even want to walk in, but I did cause my cousin wanted to go see what's in here. On the right side of the store, they have $2 nail polish. Seriously, two dollars. As in VERY CHEAP. They have these gorgeous pastel colors I've been looking for, for forever. I got the pastel purple, pastel pink, and pastel teal. Despite their cheap prices, the quality of these nail polishes are great! I've tried them on already. They don't chip easily, but you do need 2 coats. Fine by me. I'm just glad I didn't pay $7 a bottle for them! read more

This place is awesome..affordable..cute and everything smells so nice. I was a big fan of the Cucumber Melon foaming facial cleanser..but whenever I go there it seems to always be out..too many of us like it! I also like the Peach and Green tea facial cleansers..me and my sisters have sensitive skin..and my sisters skins are also oily so the all type facial cleansers work for all of us amazingly! I really like the nailpolish here as well..and lotions..i use the hand and cuticle duo lotion..i love it..got to try the make up here some time.. read more

I was excited about hearing that Honolulu has it's own Face Shop. i learned about this shop through reading about Kim Hyun Joong's TFS Asia fanmeetings, and wonder what all the hype for their products were all about. When I discovered that Honolulu is going to have it's own The Face Shop, i check it out. I love that it is in town, easily accessible from anywhere. The products are not strong for my very sensitive skin. I was weary about too much chemicals like the cosmetic skin care lines one finds in the department store, but The Face Shop has won me over with their products that have a natural scent, does it's purpose, and gentle for my skin. I recommend the BB cream. It's not overly dry or overly wet consistency, like other ones I tried on in department stores. It's amazing how The Face Shop thought of putting a tinted moisturizer and sunscreen and whitening in one tube. I use it everyday, saving me a lot of time and money. I usually find imported products can cost more and the quality is okay. However, the Face Shop proved my theory was wrong. The prices are just a little over than a similar product you find in a drugstore. The staff are approachable with questions I have. The packaging comes with Korean instructions, no problems when they have staff explaining the product to me. They greet me upon entering, which i was surprised since it is a small store. The salespeople are not pushy, another plus in my books. Upon hearing about their loyalty/reward program, there was not anything could top that. Great marketing. After hearing great things about Asian beauty products, I decided to try some. The Face Shop had great reviews and I really wanted to try some sheet masks. I have visited the store twice and on both occasions, I brought along my husband. We were greeted very warmly both times. The people that work there are very professional and extremely knowledgable when answering any questions and in offering suggestions. We walked away with a few sheet masks and tried them that night. We were amazed by the results and went back a few days later to buy more. I know we will be frequenting this shop often.
