Such a cool place! I was running out of my organic/vegan soap bar, so I decided to venture down to Ward Center since I always like trying different brands. This place has a HUGE selection of natural made soap bars. The woman at the shop was very helpful and pointed out the chart that showed which ones were best for sensitive skin, acne-prone, aromatheraphy, essential oils and more that I can't remember! The coolest part is that you can see them make the soap bars right there in the store. Next to it is a huge shelf where the soaps are drying out/hardening. She told me is takes like 27 days or something for the bar to be completely ready. Talk about home-made! I bought the honey-almond oatmeal bar. I got the large bar and was around $6. So far the bar makes my skin feel healthy and not dry. There's definitely a difference you can feel when you switch from the big name industry soaps to small business vegan soap bars. Places like this make me never want to go back to the detergent bars I used to use. The cool thing about the oatmeal bar is that is works like an exfoliator, since there are oatmeal pieces in it that peek through the surface when you slather it on. I also just got their chapstick. It goes on smooth and it actually makes your lips stay moisterized for a long period. I'm not too crazy about the scents though----a little too citrusy for me. I wish they would make a coconut, Pikake or hibiscus. They also have candles and lotions there too. I believe you can order their products on their website and they'll ship to you.

    Great smells!

Like, the size of my pink nail. And the smallest acrylic stand. They didn't know the price, so the manager came over to look it up and even said out loud that the lowest price for acrylic stands was $1.25. So they charged me...$2.50. Yeah. That alone made up my mimd about never going back there again. Tourist trap, hoping to lure the ignorant and making them pay the Hawaii tax for sub-par gemstones.

Whether it's to enjoy the sunrise/sunset, calming ocean waves sounds, or a hike at any of our beautiful trails we are so blessed to basically have it all year round. Through crafting I've always been involved with crystals and power stone, even with travels in Japan it's huge there. Each stone does have it's representation individually or together here you can certainly find it in many shapes, sizes and ways to display them it's just your inspiration to create. I didn't have the most pleasant experience at the Kailua location but this one here newly opened in October was just a delight as there were many available staff at your convenience if you had any questions though they have many information for each crystals of it's information and prices are clearly noted. On this visit I just browsed to see what they have and they do have a wonderful variety considering the small size of their shop which is located on the street level steps away from the Center Stage in Ala Moana Center. Nothing really stood out for me until I noticed at the Rose Quartz section which is always a popular choice with my friends but it was a massage rod which I though would be great since I do work with my hands as not only it's beautiful cooling as well...after I took the pic I noticed the background lol! omg!! Well it is Rose Quartz the representation of love and emotional healing. Love seeing something different in this mall filled with food courts Kailua Crystals shines bright offering calming vibe in this stressed filled earth. Thank you!

I have been disappointed lately as the customer service has been lacking! I happened to be at Ala Moana and was pleasantly surprised that the wonderful manager, Kelsey, who used to manage SoHA Keiki at the Kahala Mall location is at Ala Moana! She is so nice, friendly and personable! She is very helpful and knowledgeable! It's nice to see that the Ala Moana store has Keiki merchandise too: Hawaiian books, puzzles, beach towels and apparel! Also, I saw letters of the alphabet with cute Hawaiian items to personalize a picture frame! I love anything that can be personalized! Koolau Farmers is a locally owned/operated nursery and garden supply business that are home…read moregardening experts. It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!
