Multiple membership options, including $40 for a day pass. I especially like that the day pass works from midnight to midnight. Frequently, day passes are only available at other places starting at 8:30am or 9am, and I needed to start around 7:30am. They use a lockbox system that worked great for me. There is no attendant on duty to answer questions or do stuff, though it seems like there's a phone number to text or call if there's any issues. The interior and ergonomic design is thoughtful and cute. The've done a good job with the space they've had to work with. It's not a large space, and I can tell they worked hard to make it work. 3 phone booths and 2 reasonably large conference rooms that can also serve as phone booths when not reserved. There's a print/scan station. The kitchen is small, but there are free snacks, coffee, and tea, and I like the curation. One issue is that there's no kitchen sink, and washing my cup involved using the bathroom sink per the instructions in the kitchen. That said, it wasn't that bad. Wifi was reliable; never had any drops or hangs, including using video calls. Tables are adjustable sit/stand tables, and most chairs are rotating, wheeled office chairs with adjustable height. I like that the chairs are professional grade, that is, they go down pretty low, which is great for petite people who don't want their feet dangling off the ground. Bathrooms were spacious, clean, and well-decorated. Overall, it was a lovely place to plant myself for a few hours and get work done!

They also stock the kitchen with snacks, cereal, etc. daily -- a definite perk. Great, great location -- right near the 4, 5 and the 2, which were my main lines. It would definitely be illegal if this were residential rent, but because it's commercial, I'm not sure.

I have multiple clients in and out of my studio on a daily basis and the first thing that every new customer says is "this building is amazing!" While there are more affordable studio buildings in Brooklyn, Java Studios has a more professional feel and heat/AC, electricity and WiFi are all included in the price. So don't be fooled when looking at the price of other spaces as I have found that the price listed is not including any amenities and often ends up being several hundred more in addition to the listed price. Considering the level of attention and care that the management are able to offer, plus no hassle/no drama when ever I need anything from them and the fact that all amenities are included, not to mention 3 blocks from the G Train- the cost of renting a studio here is more than reasonable. I see that Java Studios has some negative reviews but as we all know, one or two people's opinion can sometimes say more about them than it does about the business... I treat people with understanding and respect and I have received nothing but understanding and respect back from everyone here at Java Studios. I carry myself and deal with people in a professional manner and I only work with other people who are able to function at a high level of professionalism such as the people who run Java Studios. I would recommend Java studios to anyone who is a serious artist/ entrepreneur and is looking for a no muss no fuss, beautiful, reasonably priced studio in a great location.

Surprise, surprise, come the coronavirus pandemic it turns out they are doing something similar on mass scales, keeping everyone's security deposits to pay for extra months after cancellations. Obviously its an unusual time, but its keeping in line with their existing policies. They steal whatever they think they can get. If you are considering renting office pace in the future when they reopen, remember how they treated people during an emergency, many of whom are out of work and now unreasonably forced to forego security deposits and charged for months after their cancellations. This is not a business that deserves to survive. UPDATE: Just over a year after I stopped doing business with them, I received a random email thanking me for "my payment" and saw a corresponding $700 charge on my credit card. I called them up and apparently they have some sort of error where their system has suddenly charged all their former members and (the person that I spoke to claimed) also making extra charges to current members. Before I left I had made a point of removing my credit card from their system, and the man I just spoke to on the phone said I do not have a payment method on file, but maybe there is an "archived" payment method. Well, there must be something since the charge showed up in my credit card account. So not only does this company make random charges, but they do not remove your payment methods when you ask them to. I had to cancel the card to avoid this happening again, but this place has just become the most scammy business I've ever encountered. If this error were the only time, it could be a genuine mistake, but as this is now the *third* time they've tried to scam money from me it's an obvious pattern. Like I said, they try to find any way to steal your money they can. You'll notice the only positive reviews for this company are from long ago and generally about the building itself (which is the only reason it doesn't get 0 stars, the company itself is as bad as a company can be), I think the company must have been going downhill since even before the pandemic and since then they just gave up any pretense of being a legitimate business. Avoid this company at all costs. You will regret doing business with them.

This makes the very small offices bearable because you can escape to the more shared spaces. - The front desk is staffed during business hours and the staff is very friendly. The accept packages and deliver to your office. - The staff and owners are very responsive - The community - people are very friendly and helpful to each other. - Great conference room spaces and practically unlimited use of printer - THE LOCATION! The Cons - The private offices are very small, especially relative to the price. In a private office, a person gets space for their desk and themselves, but not much beyond that. - The noise level is high because the walls are thin and there's lots of old building clanking noises.
