I don't how how it is in their Lake Elsinore location but the in the Moreno Valley locale they are notorious for CANCELLATIONS. I have given this establishment too many chances with my business. I have only been a regular customer with a particular barber there for a few months & the number of times this barber cancelled my appointment at the last minute is astounding for a business that is supposed to be predicated on professionalism. In one particular instance my appointment was cancelled less than hour in advance prior to the scheduled time & the barber's reasoning was because he had to catch a Dodger game. In addition on another occasion I had driven 35-40 minutes from home & waited in front of the shop for quite some time thinking the barber was running late only to finally receive a text telling me he had to cancel. Even when I finally was fed up with this Barber's unprofessionalism & lack of commitment I still decided to give this Barbershop a chance because of how conveniently close it is from my job. I decided to try a different Barber from The Fade Cave & on my very first appointment sure enough...Cancelled! He asked me if I could reschedule for the next day so I did and to no surprise...CANCELLED YET AGAIN! The excuse was that he woke up feeling sick. When you hire teenagers who are not quite mature & responsible enough to be a part of a business that wants to thrive this is what you will encounter. I don't see this business lasting if they don't address this problem. Kids partying too hard the night before & not being able to balance the workload the next day. I'll take my business elsewhere. I hope the " manager" actually takes the time to read these reviews & makes an effort to address these issues to his employees as well as the Barbers he decides to hire. I was looking for a new Barber. I called at 1:30 asked if they would take walk-ins . He said no, appointments only. Then said if I wanted to come at 3:30. He would put me down for the appointment. Only to show up and then told to come back 35 to 45 minutes later. Because by this point I had already driven and committed to this place . I chose to wait. 45 minutes later I walk in thinking I'm next only to be told again there was still another person in front me. I waisted a whole afternoon. No haircut. I will NOT be going back . With a personal apology I find it necessary to up my review. I hope that the barbers keep doing good work as all of them are talented to be doing so. Jesse gives good but sometimes inconsistent cuts. The quality really just depends on who knows what but in general, not bad. I had other barbers cut my hair and he was the one I was most comfortable with so I tried making appointments with him directly. The thing with appointments though...is that if someone's paying more for them the barber should be on time. After all, he's the one that agrees on the set time. Three times I made appointments with him: 1st time i came in and asked for him and the other barbers said he didn't come in because he was sick 2nd time he was cutting someone else's hair and made me wait 30 min. 3rd time he went to get food and made me wait 20 min until I decided to go with someone else. After coming back, he asked me if i was his appointment and gave what felt like a half assed apology. Just don't get why you would agree with a set time just to be 30 min late. I wouldn't have minded the later time if they told me in advance. Seems like I'm a slow learner. Only reason for the additional star is for the other African American barber (sorry didn't get his name) that took me on. He was very apologetic (wasn't even his fault) and quick on his cut. ****UPDATE***** Decided to give this spot another chance after Elizabeth and I communicated via facebook, she works and cuts hair there. We are extremely happy with his new haircut it was perfect better then any cut he's ever gotten anywhere. So I needed a cut in an emergency and I saw this place advertised on Yelp. I called beforehand and asked if they have room for walk ins and they said to stop by so I did. When I went to the shop it's pretty clean and they welcomed me in to the shop and had someone available to cut me right away. So I'm not hating on the cut I got because the girl there did pretty well, but I would say it's not as professional as other places have left it for me. Overall though that barber was nice and she did a decent job. My gripe with this place is how they run the business. If you are looking for what a standard barbershop is currently you aren't gonna get it here. Some of the issues with this place are: -They have an extremely loud speaker that's blasting music. You literally cannot speak to your barber or anyone there for that matter because the music is ridiculously loud and it's in the center of the shop. -Everyone working looked between the age of 19-22 if anything and the guy that had greeted me spent more time talking and on his phone then taking care of the cut but it didn't seem to bother the guy because the clients all seemed to be friends. The guy in front even looked like he took a hit of wax on his friends pen while he was cutting him and they were talking about prices of it smh. I've never been to a shop where they allow smoking or taking hits or vaping inside so I was disappointed. -They do not accept card here which I was surprised I mean I've never been to a shop that doesn't have a card machine. They have an ATM in the shop but be warned they charge $3.50 for withdrawing money and that's not including the fee your bank will charge you after. - I didn't receive any form of gel or pomade in my hair after but honestly it's a low budget shop that I don't think they even have any so I didn't bother asking for some and paid and left. The girl that cut me hair told me they've been open for 2 weeks and it shows. I don't know who the owner of the shop is but they definitely require some major adjustments from this place because comparing this shop to other shops out there this one won't last long. They need to have a more professional approach instead of barbers coming in wearing a wrinkled in n out shirt half asleep attending people who are paying money for a cut. Just a fair warning for those looking for a barber that my experience was definitely different compared to what I'm used to and this experience will definitely have me never coming back here again. They don't value their walk in customers, they don't greet you, and their customer service is so bad, that you'll probably get better service at the DMV. Sometimes inconsistent cuts. I've gotten my haircut from 4 different people and they obviously all cute different but some cuts were lacking detail (sides not even, line up not even). That could have been my fault for not saying something at the time but if I'm paying 20+ dollars I'm hoping the barber could taper correctly or even line it up straight. After a while I decided to make appointments but even that was a disappointment. If you're telling me you'll be able to take me at 12pm but then tell me 10 minutes prior that you're grabbing lunch and you'll be a couple minutes late defeats the purpose of making an appointment and paying more for it. This is a multi talented barber shop that is very capable of providing high quality modern haircuts for all hair types. The look and feel of the shop is top notch with plenty of hanging televisions, plenty chairs, mirrors, and good urban music. The real jewel is the extremely talented and newest barber/stylist Miss Liz!! Hands down no one has ever cut my hair as well as she has. I've received so many compliments after she worked her magic. She most definitely get 5 stars all by herself and the real reason I gave the shop 4 stars. The only thing the shop needs is some customer service training. Greet your customers when they walk in and have them sign in so customers don't fight over who is next.
