I MUCH prefer honesty like that to salons who cram you in and leave you waiting with false hopes of getting work done. The salon is bright and clean, and as soon as I sat down the manicurist got right to work (sorry, now I'm not remembering her name! ‍). She even gave me tips on a color I was considering - and she was right! It's now been over 2 weeks and they're obviously grown out and needing another touch-up, but they still look great!

The back tanning bed that is supposed to be highest level, isn't even enjoyable because it's so hot in there (they have an air conditioner that doesn't work back there). Also, sometimes the owner brings their dog and just lets their dog jump all over everyone (awkward). The reason anyone must go here is because it's the only tanning place locally in canonsburg. It's worth taking the trip to artisun in Washington which is 20$ a month unlimited.

This is my first time getting level 1 beds, usually I tan in 15 min beds. No fancy misting or better built in cooling, etc. but they weren't bad at all. They have box fans at the top end of the bed to help keep you cool, I went to put my hands above my head and like kangaroo punched the fan, knocking it over, had to get out and fix it, tragic. I was able to get a good tan in about 10 visits

I still lay in the sun, but tanning beds are really no longer for me. However, I just had to lay on a base tan quick before leaving for St. Maarten last year. Because the islands are so close to the equator, the sun is intense and I was told with my fair skin it would be wise to expose myself to some UV rays before departing. It is still the same great place that I used to go to in high school; only thing that's different is they no longer offer massages... it's just "Southside Tan." The staff is very friendly and the location is perfect. You can almost always find a spot on the street (park at Giant Eagle down the block if none are available). The place is two floors and all of the beds are in good condition and kept up to par, unlike East Coast Tanning on Carson (are they even still in business?!). The rooms are spacious too so you don't feel cramped. Each is equipped with a fan and places to put your things. It's nice, quiet and reasonably priced. If I ever am going to head back to the islands, I'll prepare myself here! In case you were wondering, I still burnt like no other... That island sun is no joke, people!

So I've been tanning at the sun club for several years and recently it was bought by your company…read more I chose to stay to support the new business owner and try it out, and I half to say I'm considering leaving now, it's just not the same, the beds are not as clean, they still offer 50 percent of lotions as of now but they raised the original prices so your still paying a lot for the lotion, ps, I used to be a district manager for a tanning company and I know what they are actually paying for lotions.. much much less, Debbie was fair and considerate of her clientele. Lastly the upgrade price change, which is doubled the rate as before. As a business owner myself it's not smart to make dramatic changes off the bat when clientele is already questioning weather to stay or not. You half to slowly ease those things. And lastly the clients here are used to a bubbly atmosphere, now we are greeted with people in their cellphones texting and talking, I just don't know. Miss you Debbie!!! I went to East Coast Tanning because I live a block away. Next time I want to get a little color I…read morewill commute. Tanning salons are not generally meccas of class, but East Coast is grungy, plain and simple. Typically salons require new customers to fill out registration and health forms, but the man behind the counter simply took my money and directed me to a tanning bed. The beds at East Coast have 20 minute time limits, but since I hadn't tanned in almost a year I asked the attendant to set the timer for 10 minutes. The surface of the bed was greasy, as if it hadn't been wiped down since its last use. A bottle of disinfectant and paper towels were stationed next to the bed so I was able to clean it myself, but I still felt squirmy about the situation. Additionally, the door of the tanning room had no lock on it and I was constantly terrified that someone would burst in. I laid in the bed for what seemed to me too long, definitely longer than 10 minutes, before finally hopping out and manually shutting off the machine. As it turned out the salon attendant had not set the timer for 10 minutes as asked, but left it running for the full 20. I had been in the bed for 17 minutes. When I walked out to leave, no-one was behind the counter for me to tell about the mistake, although it manifested itself on my body later in the day. I ended up with burns on my chest and bizarre red and white stripes running up my legs and back. Although my session only cost $6, I will not be returning to East Coast Tanning.
