Too-small nail tip placed on my left middle finger
    Brianna M.

After reading all the overwhelmingly positive reviews of this place, I was super excited to give them a try. Now, less than a month later, I'm somewhat regretting this decision. Getting an appointment was easy. I called and they were immediately able to accommodate me at my requested time. When I arrived a few minutes prior to my appointment and walked in, I was greeted and seated quickly. The salon is large and has a large selection of different types of polishes, which is wonderful even though I always bring my own polish to nail appointments to ensure that I'm happy with the color I'm getting. One of the owners, Quinn, was my nail technician. She was extremely friendly and immediately began to work on my nails while starting up a conversation. I prefer to have full sets of nails put on every month and a half or so, getting the most wear out of them as possible rather than getting fills. When I told her this, she suggested that I have my acrylics done with the pink powder, as it supposedly lifts less, so I agreed to have that done instead. When applying and shaping my nails, Quinn was fairly distracted. She answered the phone several times, which was completely understandable, as well as when she greeted everyone that arrived to the salon. However, when one of the regulars arrived and was seated next to me, I do feel that she was more focused on talking to her than she was on my nails. I didn't feel neglected per say, but I definitely did not feel like I had her full attention and that I wouldn't have had her full attention unless I were a regular. While I agree that it is important to establish a rapport with your clients and acknowledge your regulars, when it comes at the expense of a new client and makes them feel like you're not paying as much attention as you should be doing, you might want to dial it back a bit. When it came time to apply my polish, I came prepared with an Essie color as well as a sparkle shade for an accent nail. Quinn tried convincing me to have gel done instead because she "had the same color in gel," but I'm the type who gets bored with my nails after a week and ends up redoing them myself since I own a UV lamp and gel colors. Plus I just didn't want to spend extra on gel when I was just going to inevitably remove the color myself later on. When it came time to pay, my bill came out to $40 plus a tip, which honestly shocked me. That's what I pay at the salon I normally go to for acrylics and GEL polish. A question answered on here stated that a full set of nails was $28, which is what I based my calculations on. Obviously that answer could have been incorrect and the price could have changed, but if that was what the price was, that means I paid $12 for "special" pink acrylic powder rather than the regular...which really brings me to why I'm writing this review. Whenever I get my nails done at the salon I normally go to, I never have a problem keeping them on for almost two months. They don't lift up or break or anything...they just grow out, and I'm able to hide this by repainting them with gel polish because it's thick enough to cover the line between my real nail and the acrylic. Two weeks after I got my nails done here, my right index finger lifted up at the bottom almost halfway up. Luckily I had nail glue nearby and was able to fix it myself, but gee, didn't I pay extra for pink powder that minimizes lifting? Now here we are, a week short of the month mark. My right pinkie acrylic popped the whole way off three days ago from absolutely nothing; today, I lightly tapped my left pinkie off of my desk when moving something and it cracked right in half, tearing my actual nail underneath. On top of this, I realized that the wrong size nail tip was placed on my left middle finger, leaving a fair amount of my actual nail out on the right side of it. Given the condition of my nails now less than a full month after having them done and based upon my experience at other nail salons with pricing and work, I honestly cannot say I will be making another appointment here. I do feel like I wasted my money and that I overpaid for mediocre acrylics. **Side note on the photos: this is not the original color I had done at the salon. I had painted these myself a few days ago.**

This place is great. Their prices are perfectly reasonable for nails and tanning. I tried explaining why I didn't like fake nails because of how big en bulky they look on me. Doesn't feel natural at all. So they suggested some "Dip" form and I actually love it!!! The entire time I was there regulars kept walking it and chatting up a storm with everyone including me when it was only my first time there! Places like this make you feel warm and welcome so I defiantly plan on making this my spot during my monthly stays. Just wish their was a place to go to like this in mean grumpy old fl

Amazing massage to go along with the pedicure!

Great salon, they take the time to give a great massage too, even with the basic pedicure option. If you check in on the Yelp app, they also give you $5 off. I would definitely recommend!

Exceptionally clean and up to date.

I decided to check out the Solarium Nail Bar following a recommendation from a coworker. I cannot say it enough...if you want a professional, clean, friendly salon this is the place for you! And did I mention they serve wine?!? Yes. Wine. The owner is friendly and truly wants to know each client who walks through the door. The polish options are on trend and the newest options from both OPI and Essie. My pedicure was dreamy...I chose the Healthy Feet option for $32 and from the exfoliating scrubs to the massage to the precise polish it was a truly enjoyable experience. They also have a few small Hello Kitty chairs for younger clients, truly catering to the idea of a fun "girls day out" This will be my go-to nail salon and I hope you check it out too!

A friend and I decided we wanted to have a girls day and get our nails done. She made an appointment a few days before and got us in with no problem! I came across this place on yelp and I have to admit I had no idea it was in the plaza next to North Allegheny High School. The parking is a little tricky, but there is additional parking behind the building which is a good thing to note. The facility is very clean and modern. The owners are very friendly and they actually liked having conversations with my friend and I. Some nail salons just want to do your nails in silence and get you out the door. The nail polish selection is amazing! They have so many different colors and I love that. There is nothing more frustrating than walking into a nail salon and seeing 50 shades of red. I'm a lover of red don't get me wrong, but people like variety! Another thing I would like to note is they absolutely deliver on what you want your nails to look like. I showed him a picture and I got exactly what I wanted. I wanted a glitter ombré look and he used a pale pink gel polish as the base ($35). He also did a great job of cleaning around my cuticles. I've been to other salons in the area that did what they wanted and didn't take what I wanted into consideration. Also, I've left other salons with my cuticles looking horrible. They use a keratin glove treatment to soak your cuticles before they clean them up. This was new to me and it definitely felt luxurious. Once we were all done with our manicures we decided we wanted to get a pedicure and they fit us right in for an hour later which wasn't bad at all since it was such short notice. We went and ran a few errands and came back. They have different pedicure packages, but we went with the $32 one that includes a sugar mango scrub, cooling gel, callus remover, and hot towels. We never once had to wait or felt rushed! This is my new go to nail spot in Wexford and I will be telling plenty of people about it. Also, when you check in on yelp you get $5 off your service of $30 or more!

When I went to check out the team member took quite some time trying to figure out how to actually check me out. I paid for the service and left. About 10 minutes after I left I received a call from the front desk, and without an apology told me that I was under charged and needed to come back to finish paying my bill or pay it over the phone. I asked her if I could call back once I was done driving and would pay then. She hesitated and said ok. A few hours later I called to pay the bill and the girl on the phone said that they were closed and since they had my card on file they just went ahead and charged me the additional $40. Without even a courtesy call to tell me what the additional fee was or to confirm if that was the card I wanted to use for the charge. Again, no apology, no hint of remorse, nothing. I asked them to mail me my receipt. Additionally, the young man who massaged me for the fee of $140.00 + a $20.00 tip, didn't touch my hands or feet, didn't have the bed heated, the hot towels grew cold extremely fast and I spent the 90 minutes feeling cold, and not at all relaxed because his massage game was poor. I won't be returning here.
