I would give this place zero stars if I could. My husband and I played this course today, and…read moresaying we had the worst experience would be a grand understatement. After finishing a full 18 holes, we were approached by an older man who worked there and were bluntly told, 'Don't ever come back here again.' My husband and I were completely caught off guard--we hadn't done anything wrong. We were then told we played 'too slow.' For context, I'm a beginner-ish golfer (I've been consistently playing well over a year), and my husband is far more advanced. It was a rainy Monday with barely anyone else on the course. I told the man I was a beginner, and he snapped back, 'Go play somewhere else, this course isn't for beginners.' He kept insisting we started at 1:30 PM, which was a lie--we didn't even arrive until 2:30 PM. We were shocked by his rudeness and honestly I felt a strong racial undertone (my husband and I are not white). My husband calmly said, 'That's fine, we won't come back,' thinking it would end the conversation. We began loading our truck, trying to leave as quickly as possible. But the hostility continued. The man pointed out our vehicle had American plates (my husband is from Washington State, and I'm Canadian), then randomly brought up politics--asking how we felt about Trump. It was extremely bizarre and uncomfortable. My husband replied that we had no opinion, trying to avoid further confrontation. The fact that this man brought up Donald Trump out of nowhere was just plain weird. My husband politely apologized again and said we wouldn't be returning, and we left as fast as we could. Let me be clear: this isn't the first course I've played. I'm not completely new to golf--I know the rules and proper etiquette, I'm not playing at the speed of a turtle. This was actually our second time playing at this exact course, and we never had an issue with other staff members. Today was a quiet, rainy day. Whenever other players were behind us, we politely let them tee off first and told them I was a beginner. We let them finish their hole before continuing. All the other golfers were friendly, even complimenting my game and gave me encouraging words. One even shocked I said I'm a beginner because he felt I was playing better than him. Back to the rude (possibly racist) man--he said that members of the country club don't prefer beginner golfers. Funny, because we chatted with a friendly older gentleman who was a member, and we let him play through. He was nothing but kind. If this course only wants white golfers, then they should just put up a sign. We were not rude, obnoxious, or holding anyone up. To be treated this way and told never to come back is absolutely mind-blowing. The course itself is a mom-and-pop level operation--it's not some high-end PGA course. It's average at best. I've played on nicer courses with far better staff. As someone who's on a golf journey, this experience was incredibly discouraging. I will be sharing this as a public service announcement on all my socials to ensure no one--especially non-white players--has to endure this. It was one of the most baffling, bizarre, and uncomfortable experiences we've ever had. It's ironic that their website says, 'We invite everyone for a challenging round at Meadowlands.' What a joke. Please take that line down, because clearly, not everyone is welcome. To the older man who ruined our day: don't worry. We won't ever step foot on your course again, and I'll make sure everyone I know--Canadian and American alike--avoids this place. If you're thinking about trying it out, do yourself a favor: stay away and find a better course.

Car was down for a week and 1st round of golf back at Meadowlands golf course the manager went home at 400P.M. and locked up pro shop and front gate so i could not get car off golf course. Manager refused to refund what was left of my yearly golf pass after grounds crew turned on underground greenside sprinklers soaking me and my golf clubs even though the greenskeeper said he was sorry. After complaining to the B.B.B. the manager refunded most of the percentage of my yearly pass. Won't ever be coming back!!

Another minute passes and the other guy looks at me and says "yes?" As if I'm interrupting his TV time. I ask if I can walk on and play 18 holes and he walks behind the counter and says "no tee times available, sorry". I then asked why there is full availability online for the next half hour and he says "those tee times aren't for you". I looked at the other guy who is still chatting on his cell phone, not even paying attention, so I decided to leave. I was speechless. I sat in the almost-empty parking lot for 20 minutes to see who these tee times were reserved for, and sure enough, nobody showed up. They clearly didn't want me on the course. I was going to book a tee time online and see if I still got rejected, but I figured my money is better spent elsewhere. I won't be returning. This isn't the 60s. Black people play golf too.

The staff are very kind and courteous and I'm sure if the customer service wasn't top tier that the management would take the feedback seriously. It's a beautiful place for a corporate event or personal one like a birthday, reunion or wedding! I believe they even have a helicopter area as well (don't take my word for it) but that would be a lovely entrance for a newly wed couple. The fire pits add a nice touch especially if it's chilly out. I didn't take a picture of the buffet style food that we had catered but it was all very delicious and left guests pleased. The parking lot is large and always fits our tour bus of guests. There are so many beautiful tall trees which help for some shade (phew)! Some years we've gone, the mosquitos have been aggressive so make sure you pack bug spray or sunscreen accordingly (as they don't sell this at the retail store!). They also have a resort but I haven't been there before so this review won't include that part of the establishment. The washrooms in the main portion of the golf course are a bit outdated in my opinion but they serve the purpose - 2 stalls and locker area.

We had purchased passes at the golf show and were told it included carts, buddy in the pro- shop however went on a 5 minute rant that carts were not included. He eventually slammed the key on the counter and told us GO!! As we left my wife commented to me that she clearly asked about carts when we purchased the passes, dude comes running out from behind the counter yelling that he was giving us a refund because we called him an ass!! He didn't hear what we said when we were talking to ourselves. Bad, bad customer service. We played in just over 2 hours as nobody was on the course. I guess he just had to yell at someone today.
