The Farm is our go-to for plants, bushes, shrubs, etc. on the Cape. The prices are reasonable and the selection is pretty good. It's not particularly easy to find tucked down a dirt driveway in Rock Harbor. But once you make it down the driveway it's a pretty good sized place. What Happened? The Farm, with its huge selection of healthy and interesting plant varieties, was always our first choice for the garden. However, the place seemed to lose its luster after the COVID pandemic. On one visit, I had a run-in with an officious staff member who may just have been having a bad day. This year, it we could not find what we wanted, and much of the annual stock was looking stressed. Tried again two weeks later and bought nothing. In the end, we found what we wanted at Friend's Marketplace, Agway and Bayberry Gardens. The latter is in Truro, has interesting plant varieties and a terrific staff. Hoping The Farm returns to its former glory next year. read more

I've visited about 7 nurseries on cape, and the Farm is awesome. Tucked a bit away on a dirt road and opens up to the property. If you're looking for 'rarer' varieties of petunias - check this place out. Also a wonderful variety of hydrangeas that are luckily kept in the shade!! Some places just seem to let them roast. I could tell a lot of hard work goes into this place. Definitely suggest taking a look! read more

I have been going to the Farm for many years and have watched it grow and evolve. It is a truly wonderful family owned and run enterprise that is a marvel considering they created it out of virtually nothing. Terrific selection of perennials and annuals at very fair prices. The layout is beautiful and worth a visit just to walk around and see the variety of plants and flowers. I have gotten excellent gardening advice from the family members over the years. I don't understand the few negative reviews unless the new customers did not appreciate what the Farm is and what it means to the family that created it. read more

Unhelpful staff. I returned to purchase a gift for my Mom for Mother's Day. The week prior they told me it was $125. Today, the item did not have a sticker on it, the staff disappeared to get me a price (never returned). Another employee took one look at the item and made up the price of $200. I can't believe this has a one star review. firstly, the men here are hunks... hunks. they are also extremely helpful.. giving you EXTENSIVE advice on what to do, fit of your space, and help you really break down what you want. I love the advice they give. I go in confused all the time with the MASSIVE space and the MASSIVE selection... oh boy is this anxiety provoking, but they are so calm and they actually get in your head and say "i know exactly what you need and want"..... isnt that cool? So what do they have.... soil soil soil. AN AMAZING amount of shrubs. an even more expensive selection of all sorts of trees; note i still want my mom to get the fig tree and she still refuses... lame. the flowers. have you ever seen so many flowers, most locally grown, all locally raised in about six green houses. They even have a huge open space, and im not good with distance but let me tell you the open space of flowers, ranging from big to small, to rare to common is hugeness bigger than i have ever scene. third photo will give you SOME IDEA. It is NOT indicative of the company.... ignore the silly review that has NOTHING to do with the plants they sell, but her own inability to raise plants. they wont appreciate someone killing the rest of their plants. descriptive words and expressive language would have worked. everyone who is a local goes here. I cant escape without ringing up a large bill and then going home and saying "where do i put all these amazing plans"... also... the studs.. dont forget the studs. read more

Have just discovered The Farm this year, very recently purchasing several shrubs, plants, and also referring friends who have made purchases. Went into the checkout area today to ask for a diagnosis of a small specimen from a diseased hemlock that my husband had put loose in the car. Instead of handing me a sack to wrap it in and just giving me a diagnosis, I received a tongue lashing from not one,but two different staff members for bringing in a diseased specimen.While I applaud their concern with the health of their inventory, their style of communication was tactless, embarrassing, and rude, especially since I'm a recent customer . I felt like Typhoid Mary crashing the Cotillion. In the future I will return to Agway in Orleans. read more

While the setting is inviting and promising, the reality is a miserable shopping experience and inferior product. Adding insult to injury, the staff - especially the cashier - has rotten attitudes. We found them unwilling to deliver to Provincetown (we're talking 6' trees), and inclined to squabble about prices while hostility engaging patrons at checkout. Sadly, their inventory was clearly "picked over" by early June, and they expressed no willingness to order product they were lacking. This shopping experience was a huge waste of time and energy. Our advice: skip The Farm and shop elsewhere, hopefully someplace that appreciates the business. read more

Prices are fair. Service is exceptional. The Farm also will special-order, and Shawn gives realistic advice so you don't attempt roses in a spot meant for sedum. Wonderful nursery, that keeps getting better every year! I've found the people who've helped me at The Farm to be passionate about trees and very knowledgeable about the species they are selling. "The Farm" does grow anything that I could see. Their prices are high, and the owners/attendants are flaky. I got the run around for a confirmed special order for several months, with "quality control" issues as an excuse for never delivering, even for the next season! The Farm may be a last resort for uncommon plants, but that's about the only reason to go there. You'll do better at Agway, or any of the other nurseries I have patronized on the Cape, in terms of customer care and price. read more
