The ambiance was vibey and loved that I was sitting outside, but still covered from the sun. The waiters were so nice and were able to answer any questions I had. I ordered an iced hazelnut oatmilk latte and a fried chicken benedict and they were delicious! The latte was the perfect drink to wake me up for a busy day ahead! They definitely do eggs benedict different but it was still so tasty. Instead of the usual english muffin, they used an herb rostis, which is a crispy hash brown round. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy. The herb rostis was also crispy and paired well with the creamy poached eggs! I miss this meal so much and dreaming of having this again the next time I go back to Auckland!

I love that they offered both still water or sparkling for the table. I ordered the salmon benedict and it was delicious! Their menu offers gluten free as well as dairy free options. Vegetarian or vegan? They have options for you too. I ordered an Americano and it was full bodied and came in a large mug. I only wish we'd had more time in Auckland so I could come here again.

It's right around the corner from the AUT Tower so convenience-wise, it was A+. The chicken rolls here are seriously good and I really like their baked goods as well! I'm a big fan of their caramel slice and still crave it every now and then. They sell a variety of foods so they cater for whatever you're feeling like. Admittedly, I've never had one of their sandwiches. And that was because I was obsessed with their pies (mince and cheese to be precise). I can assure you you probably won't find one better in the CBD, these babies are usually gone by lunchtime, and knowing your luck it'll be the one you were thinking about all morning! But I'd suggest getting one anyway, that pie pastry they make is amazing. Global Sandwich is the best place to spend that extra change and more.

This place is packed with sandwiches, muffins, salads, fruit, soup and everything my mum would approve of. Well, maybe not so much the chocolate bars. But hard working brains need a boost every now and again right? The best thing is, is that the food's really cheap. I loved their fruit salad containers that are filled with melon, apple, grapes...all the nice fruits. And the soups were perfect on those cold winter days. They also have seating outside which is great if you want to chill in the sunshine and people watch for your lunch break. This shop is always a winner for me and I'm thankful for it's convenience and price all the time.

It doesn;t look like anything special from the outset but boy is it special. The Green Crocodile is basically a sandwich bar, but they also do salads and wraps. Pop in there and the lovely old lady will ask you what you'd like. You pick you bread and then fill the sammy with a mountainload of ingredients. Then you can either get it toasted or leave fresh. Yes, it seems like 'just a sandwich bar' but it;s so much more than that. Ther service is so great, and after one visit you'll be treated like a regular, and the amount you get for what you pay is like something from a bygone era. There are no processed ingredients in site and you can really taste the home made freshness. I think that's why it's so good - every sandwich is like the best ever sandwich you could make at home, but canlt be bothered doing. The place is popular, but if there is a wee queue outside, stick it out, it's worth it.

A cheese toasted sandwich is sometimes all that you need, and these are pretty good: the cheese oozes out, and it's all delivered to you hot and tasty. They don't take eft-pos here, so come with cash, although you won't need much; most sandwiches are less than $5. There's also only two tables, so be prepared to takeaway; you can always sit outside on the recently flashed-up Derby Street.

Flavour makes some awesome pitas…read more Situated on Vulcan Lane, it is a popular place for city goers, university students or people wanting something cheap, fast and tasty. And I can definitely see why. The ordering process is simple and efficient, the staff are friendly, the majority of the pitas are under $10 and the choices are endless. They also have a 'flavour of the day' (regular size for $6), which is fast becoming a popular lunch for me. Their falafel on Wednesdays and roast beef on Fridays are my favourite. But if you are looking for something more exciting, order the Tandoori chicken, and don't forget to add the mango chutney - seriously good! They have little to no seating, so best to take your pita outside - luckily Freyburg Square is just around the corner, so you can enjoy it in the sun!

Oddly through all the name changes it's never strayed away from pitas - it's like they just change the sign on the outside but everything inside stays exactly the same. Anyway, any prior impression of Pita Pit you can basically apply to this place - it's cheap, you can choose what you like, and it's plenty of kai for the coin. Have never had any issue with ingredients, but maybe my expectations were low?! Anyway, good place to come if you can't spare more than say $10 on lunch.
