Everyone is busy right now helping homeowners repair damages caused by Ida but I took a chance and called "The Fenceman" to see if he could take care of getting my moms fence gate back up. Jimmy was working not far away on another project but made the time to come out and see what needed to be done. I needed an estimate to get concrete work done. Checked out Yelp reviews and decided to call him. I called three companies for estimates; the Fenceman was the the only one worth a damn. He was good to his word that he'd spin by my place the next day. I gave him my email address - and he emailed me a detailed estimate the following day. I had to chase down the other companies over and over. Anyway, I told the Fenceman I would give him 50 or $100 for the estimate, knowing he may never get any work out of it. He said don't worry about it - maybe you'll use me in the future when the job comes around... With the way he did business so far, I'd be much more inclined to go with him... In a follow up to a fence build 1 year ago, I emailed Jimmy with some minor problems. He responded quickly and just came out to do the split boards (2) that had popped out due to the heat and some weird graining they originally had. I had been looking for a company to do my driveway for a long time. Jimmie was very responsive. I sent him my plans by email so he came to check out the job prepared. Where other contractors made suggestions that did not make much sense in my situation, Jimmie immediately got what I was trying to so (not drain my water to the street but deal with it on my own property). He was also the only one who did some digging around to better assess what he had to demo. We decided to split up the job and he gave me a very fair estimate for a Hollywood driveway and a shed foundation. Though they were very busy, he came by to plan the work 2 days after signing the contract. At the spot it was decided to start right away. The subcontractor (Raymond) was great. He worked quickly and very neat. While working they made some helpful suggestions and modifications and the final job looks great and was done in just 4 days! Jimmy recently completed the replacement of two gates at my home. I recently contacted him concerning the overall look of one gate, since the tube frame did not look wide enough. The gate operated correctly, however it looked like the extra width was not planned for. When I discussed this matter with Jimmy, he immediately became confrontational about the matter, thinking I was questioning his craftsmanship. He went on to state that the gate would have been too heavy if the tubes were as wide as the gate, since he as unable to get enough concrete around the support pipe. None of these decisions were discussed with me, and I was home during the installation time of the support pipe. I was directed to look at the photos of his work on his website, but currently there are no photos available online. Jimmy stated that he accepted no blame for this issue, and that any rework would need to be paid for by me. It seems odd that he accepts no blame for decisions that were made by him. read more

Professional. Jimmie Sanderson recently did the demo and construction on a new fence at my home, and I couldn't have had a better experience. Jimmie is experienced and he does commercial and residential, so he's equipped to tackle big jobs. I had trees that needed to be removed on the fenceline and Jimmie was able to take them out (the only one who could do the demo himself), fill the holes with dirt and construct a brand new cedar fence and 2 gates. The fence is crisp and clean, straight as an arrow and he uses quality materials, not the typical stuff from HD and Lowes. Here's what makes Jimmie a professional: his quotes are competitive and they don't change last minute; he goes over and above to work with all neighbors to minimize disruptions to people I have to live next to after the project is over; regular daily contact so you know what's happening; solid construction (he welds the frames for the gates himself, very heavy duty and durable) with quality materials; he and his crew are respectful to clients, neighbors and their property; and he's just a heck of a good guy, local and knows what he's doing. If you want a short-term, cheap fence with holes dug about a foot in the ground, don't call Jimmie. Highly recommended, no complaints whatsoever. read more
