I had a difficult time just trying to setup an initial meeting. I sent a message on yelp on Monday. The first response was immediate. They got my phone number and I was told to expect a call back to schedule an appointment. After three days (Thursday) I responded on yelp and asked if anyone was going to call me, they replied that it was a bad number they tried to call me on...but nobody thought contact me on yelp again? Regardless, they had someone call me on Thursday and we setup a face-to-face appointment. I was supposed to receive the address via email/text, but never did. I contacted early on Monday to confirm, they sent me a link for a zoom meeting. When I asked if it was a face to face appointment, they apologized and said it was. This was getting silly. They were unorganized and I was not comfortable having to chase them just to setup an appointment. So I asked to cancel the meeting. Denita called and let me know they had recently got an influx of customers from a seminar and it is not indicative of the quality of work. But I think it is indicative of the customer service I can expect. I don't recommend them. read more

Sometimes, it, unfortunately, takes a major life event to propel us to make the prudent - though, no-brainer - choice to seek the help of a financial advisor. This was the position I found myself in. For the first time in my adult life, I quickly developed a real appreciation for, and felt the strong need to, get my finances in order. I turned to Yelp, as I normally do, to look for someone reputable to help me accomplish the task at hand. This is an unfamiliar territory for me, and I needed someone "worthy" to help me navigate it. Being new to the process, I, of course, felt unsure and distrustful of a complete stranger handling such a crucial matter for me. Nonetheless, I hoped to find the right help. Combing through the list of people/financial institutions on Yelp, I came across The Financial Architects. I was taken aback at first (and not necessarily in a good way), at all the 5-star reviews. I get leery when I see something that is too good to be true, and a perfect, ALL 5-star reviews, to me, is too good to be true. Still, I went ahead and contacted them. I must say that I was pleased with the initial contact that was made. The lady on the other end of the line was very friendly and pleasant. She asked me preliminary questions, then an appointment was set up to get into more details of how this whole thing works. Then, the second contact was made. I must admit, it was not my favorite. I received a phone call outside of the agreed-upon appointment. However, I managed to let that slide. The person on the other end of the line introduced himself as Manny, the owner of The Financial Architect, himself. That was a pleasant surprise. I did not expect for the owner to personally take care of me. Over our numerous conversations, Manny painstakingly explained to me the various investment opportunities that can be tailored based on my financial situation. I had many questions about it, often repeating the same questions over and over again as my brain tried to absorb all the information it was given. Manny remained patient, and maybe, even delighted, for the opportunity to really help me understand; not a single hint of being annoyed was ever detected in his voice. Knowing how important of a decision this was going to be, I took my time to think things over. Days, and then weeks, have passed, and I still was not in a position where I felt comfortable enough to either say yes or no to his proposals. This whole time that I was mulling things over in my head, I was afraid that Manny would pressure me into making a decision (this was nothing more than a pre-conceived notion that anyone of us may or may not have about "sales people," in general. I even entered "Aggressive Salesman" as his contact name on my phone, initially :/ ). THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Manny never pressured me, nor made me feel, in the slightest bit, pressured. He, instead, would just send me gentle nudges, either thru text or email, to let me know that he's still there, patiently waiting for me to make up my mind. I very much appreciated this, so much so that I finally decided that it was time, and appropriately so, to change his contact name from "Aggressive Salesman" to Manny Financial Advisor. :) Bottom line is, Manny was nothing but a pleasure to work with. He remained sensitive to my current life situation, and was always supportive in his ways and manners. I think this is a rarity in an industry such as this.
