Fantastic experience. Last week I decided to pursue replacing the head unit in my 2015 Mazda6 Touring because the stock unit is outdated and incompatible with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, but otherwise I love the car. Lauren was extremely responsive and transparent, and just several days later I now have a beautifully redone stereo (Pioneer DMH-1500NEX) that also sounds much, much better than before. The technician, Mike, walked me through how the unit works and described the installation process; there was one slight issue he found when testing the unit the day before, and thankfully they got a new module to make sure everything worked perfectly before releasing the car back to me. The new unit looks clean (see my attached photo), and I walked away with the sense that both Lauren and the staff have high attention to detail and stand by their work. The replacement was not cheap, but the quote was comparable to another place in the area and now I feel like I have a brand new car. Will definitely recommend this place and go back if I need similar work done in the future. read more

It took me a long time to come around to posting this review. I had a complex experience with this place, and I think in no small part it's because they've changed their technician. My issue is not with the quality of their work. My issue is with customer attention. Nonexistent. So my girlfriend got her remote start done here last year, and it worked great, car was done in a day, and she was happy. That's all I needed to know to try getting my radio done (speaker and receiver upgrades). I brought my car in, came back to pick it up at 4. Note that they didn't call me to confirm the appointment or that the car was done. It was generally ready, but there was a part they didn't get from the supplier. Sync didn't work with my Ford. Okay, I'll have to come back for the Sync module. They didn't charge me for the part and said they'd make the supplier bring it free. That's good customer service, I thought! Brought the car back. Again, they never called me. I had to call them repeatedly to find out when they'd have the part in and when I could bring the car in. Starting to get annoyed, but the appointment was available. Brought my car in in the morning, said I'd be back at 4. I had a ballgame to catch in South Jersey. I came back at 4. I waited there with my friend OVER TWO HOURS for the car to be done. Gee, did you work on it? Best part: the Sync still didn't work. It worked with his phone but not mine. Apparently it's very finicky with installation and he'd have to call someone to walk him through it. So, I thought... why didn't you call them all day? What were you doing all day? Why wasn't my car ready at 4? Why did I miss the entire first game of my doubleheader? More questions. Everything except Sync still worked. I had to call - again - they NEVER CALLED ME ONCE - and scheduled an appointment for Friday. Final try. They get my car, work on it all day uninterrupted, I get it back and it works. They never worked on it. All day. Never worked on it. James the technician never told the owner that I was dropping off my car, so she scheduled right over me. No communication at all, whatsoever from James. The owner was both apologetic and defending her employee, which I understand, but I'm naming him because I blame him for a complete failure and lack of communication the entire time. Third strike, you're out. I got my refund and he uninstalled everything. Oh, the best part? I still didn't get my car until 6:00. That's an entire day of nothing and two hours wasted sitting around. Just the best. Don't go here. If you've gone here or already have an appointment, your work will be quality. But heaven help you if the part itself is defective, or if you have to be somewhere with your car. I think the best way for this business to move forward is to hire someone with a customer ethic, similar to the person they had before James, because right now this total lack of internal and external communication is a sinking ship. read more

I've been to the Finishing Touch several times. Lauren and her techs have always been polite and friendly, knowledgeable and fair. When I was hit by another driver and my car was totaled, I was having issues with transferring my interlock device- they went above and beyond to call the company and get them to work with me. They even drove out to the lot where my totaled car was to remove the device and put it into a new car the same day. I went back to get speakers put into in my replacement car and they look and sound great! Took no time at all to install them. I'm definitely going back to have them put in a new head unit as soon as I have the funds. Overall, 5/5 would recommend going to the Finishing Touch. read more

This is a solid place to use for car audio installations. I looked into a few local places on the Internet, and ended up choosing this one after speaking with a few people there, and seeing how helpful they were and that their prices were quite fair. Spoke with Steve several times, and he was excellent. Really knew his stuff. I brought them a rather custom car audio device to install, and they did a great job with it. Clean installation, and they walked me through the operation of the device. I had some ideas of ways I wanted it installed, and their suggestions were better than what I originally came up with. They installed it in the amount of time they said they would, and they guarantee their work should anything go wrong later on that was installation related. Excellent place for car accessories and clean installation of car electronic parts. These guys are professionals and know their way around the car to install after market car parts. I own a Subaru legacy and was looking for a place for headlight bulbs conversion from halogen to HID/LED bulbs. I had purchased the bulbs from a third party seller and since I don't have a driveway, I couldn't install it myself. Their rates are reasonable and they did a great job installing the HID bulbs for Low Beams and LED bulbs for High Beams. I brought my BMW Z4 in for an audio upgrade (speakers). I wanted everything in the car to work like OEM/factory, I just wanted better sound as the stock sound in the Z4 is pretty crappy. Now this is a hard car to find replacement speakers for and eventually I had found a company that made replacement speakers, and an upgrade amplifier, and some sound dampening material for installation in the doors. Chris the technician did all the work and it was a very clean install, including speakers, new amplifier, and bass knob. They were very fair in their charges, not making a profit on the equipment, so really they just charged me labor. When I picked up the car Chris told me that it was a complicated install and he was concerned about the quality of the sound, but that I should decide myself. I took possession of the car and brought it back to them after a few days with some issues (1) the sound was "tinny" at low volumes (sounded GREAT when blasting) and (2) the sound dropped out intermittently. They made some changes to correct the delivery of power to the new amplifier and Chris made some changes to the amp settings and let me know the car was ready. I drove the car a few more days and the sound drop out was fixed, the bass knob delivered awesome bass, but the door speakers still sounded Tinny. I spoke to Lauren and she was very concerned and we brought the car back in again....Chris added some additional sound dampener in the speaker housing the now the system sounds AWESOME. They charged me an extra hour of labor which I think is reasonable. Overall, I'm quite happy, Chris was great to work with, called me every day with an update at the end of the day and was very concerned to make sure things were done right. Lauren is honest, did not mark up the equipment and only charged me labor. I dinged them one star as it took 3 visits, but this was not your typical installation. I have a 2001 Toyota Solara that the antenna finally quit. It killed my battery because it kept trying to go up and down even with the car off. They replaced it with an OEM and it's great! they do a great job - it only took an hour and I had trouble getting up from their super comfy reclining movie seats - didn't want to get up! HA!! HA!! I highly recommend them for anything having to do with your stereo system. read more

Good lord, a child knows not to wipe off a dirty car without a car wash and no, waterless wash isn't the same. My hood & fender look like a record and they wouldn't even admit blame. Angers me beyond belief, because I am so meticulous with my cars. It was so obvious because the entire rest of the car doesn't look like that. It was later when I brought the car to be detailed that I found out about the tree sap. Your lack of knowledge in the business is despicable - you shouldn't be in this line of work. PERIOD! They did not tell me that the car had to be detailed prior to bringing it in. I stated that they should have told me because the car is brand new and completely untreated and they previously stated they "Prep the Paint" prior to installation. What does that mean exactly? Not wet the car and wipe it down, for sure. They should have told me that the car had to be detailed prior to bringing it in. The owner Lauren's EXACT WORDS, "HOW WOULD I KNOW" when I asked how would I know that the car needed to be fully detailed prior to bringing it in when you state you do "Paint Prep" prior to install. Well, isn't that your business to know? But no, you didn't. Why? LACK OF EXPERIENCE AND RUDENESS! Your customer service skills are seriously lacking. Could have saved a lot of wasted time & pain because now the car needs more care to take out the damage they have caused. After all of this, the work couldn't be done, because the clear coat now has to be professionally detailed to remove the hardened tree sap & swirl marks. They tried to say the car needed MAJOR PAINT CORRECTION! Laughable! If they really believe that, they are extremely under experienced & don't know what they are doing & charge way too much for the skill set. My family has been professionally detailing cars for over 30 years, I would know. It's just a shame that it has to be done now, when a week ago it didn't. Not to mention, cost me to fix their blunders. You knew about this complaint. I purposely took a half day from work to discuss this with you in person (cost me even more money) & you knew I was upset about the damage you caused - not because the film wasn't applied. Thank god for the hired installers professional work ethics. It was his professionalism that was the reason why the installation didn't happen, not yours. I have no doubt from how you lie to your customers, that you would have slapped it on, like you stated. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! read more

It's unfortunate that I had to find The Finishing Touch as a result of a competitors poor install however, I'm glad I did and I'm now a customer for life. I purchased a vehicle for my daughter and had a very nice sound system installed but it didn't sound good at all. Steering wheel volume control didn't work, stereo would shut off when turning the steering wheel and a faint buzz in rear driver side door speaker. Called TFT and spoke with Chris who is very knowledgeable and suggested I bring the car in. Chris took his time to understand all the issues and started digging in. He troubleshooted, replaced a faulty controller, put everything back together. Not only did they fix the stereo, they (Lauren and Chris) made us happy. Lauren, the owner is truly focused on customer satisfaction and makes sure that her staff shares in her objectives. Awesome place and incredible service! I needed a Bluetooth installation on a 2007 car and The Finishing Touch was highly recommended to me by my car mechanic who has never given me bad advice and sees all kinds of installations - good and bad. I had a really tight time frame to work with and an equally tight work schedule, but both Lauren and her tech specialist, Chris, worked with me on everything and got me exactly what I needed in the short time that I had. Unfortunately, during the installation Chris discovered that the microphone was bad but Lauren had a new part shipped overnight at no charge to make sure that my job was completed on time. The installation was flawless and Chris spent a lot of time helping me learn all the features and showing me how to connect all my devices. I can't say enough about this place and I will be back to have them do a few other upgrades in the coming months. I'm glad I trusted my mechanic and went to The Finishing Touch instead of some of the other shops and big box stores. The customer service and quality work just can't be beat. My experience with Finishing Touch rates a rare 5-stars. A year ago we wanted to give our 2 sons some audio improvements for their used cars. Working with Lauren, we found just what we were looking for, and the gifts were presented on Christmas morning in the form of 2 separate, personalized gift certificates from The Finishing Touch. The installations of both the new radio for one son and a removable sub-woofer for our other son went perfectly, They both have been very pleased, and I would recommend Finishing Touch based on that experience, alone. However, just recently the radio in the one car stopped working, Because my son had a limited time before he had to return to college, Lauren had to squeeze him in without much notice and she promised to investigate and either repair or replace the faulty radio. What a pleasure it was: they took the car in immediately at the appointment time and because they couldn't identify the problem they replaced the entire radio at no cost! Instead, the installer decides to go to lunch and the job didnt get done within the time promised. She had every right to get angry with them. It's a good thing I wasn't there. Customer service does not communicate and I have been getting the run around for several months to honor a gift certificate. They recently changed owners, so be cautious about any previous warranties, they will blame it on the past and not honor the present. I would keep moving and deal with another installation service. THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS PLACE! Both the owner, Lauren, and her one worker, James, have the biggest attitudes of anyone I've ever dealt with. When I came in the first time they were sweet as could be (clearly just to get the business) but when I came back with my car to actually have the stereo put in and asked a few questions I was treated extremely rudely and was told they knew what they were doing. I was also TOLD it would take 1 1/2 hours (AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR A SPECIFIC TIME). I came back almost two hours later and the car WAS NOT DONE! Then I asked how much longer and once again got a rude, surly attitude. "James" was taking lunch and on top of that had not started when I dropped the car off. I had to get back to work and had to go so they uninstalled everything and wasted my time. BEWARE! I cannot emphasize this enough! If you've seen the "Three Guys Mover" ad on TV where they tell the girl her moving job will take 90 minutes and then say "oh no lady, that was just an 'estimate' - this job will take 3 days."
