An old favorite in Manila for regular steak place goers, but seemingly unknown to the millennial crowd. For those who spend too much time at relatively newer and trendier places like Bonifacio Global City or Rockwell, visiting The Fireplace at the Hyatt in the heart of Malate should be good changeup. As for the restaurant itself, the ambiance is dim and intimate, perfect for either a date or an informal but serious meeting. I'm a sucker for good iced tea, and The Fireplace's is concoction is definitely worth a try to kick things off. I remember the manager being so hands on with us and all the other diners. More than checking if everything was okay, his genuine and jovial mood for a conversation was really appreciated. Next thing I knew, my medium-rare steak was ready to be devoured!
