Amazing! Here I was, stuck on a Sunday. Fathers Day, no less. Coming home from a music festival in Grass Valley, tired from camping all week, with a full car of camping stuff, when my 2015 Suburu decides to start jumping and coughing and stalling and throwing scary warning signs and engine lights. I was by myself and frantic. I got my car to the Napa auto parts shop in Marysville and the very nice guy there suggested The Fix It Shop. I called them and the owner said he was there and could look at it right away. The tow truck experience was another story (Don't go to C and F), but I finally got my car there and Ajay from the Fix IT Spot calmly checked out the check engine light codes, then tinkered under the hood, found the broken/messed up vacuum hose and fixed it right away. He took it for a quick test drive and I was ready for my trip home - 150 more miles on a hot highway 20 to home! Took my Camry there for an oil pump leak. I purchased the parts myself, including a timing belt kit because it is standard practice to replace this when the car is already torn down for the oil pump seal. 1 day after picking the car up, it started to overheat from coolant loss. When I returned the car to see what the problem was, I found out that they didn't replace the water pump that was included with the timing belt. His reasoning was that it would have been much more expensive to replace the pump. His solution was to charge me an extra $350 to tear it down again and replace the pump. THEN I discovered that they not only didn't replace the pump, they kept it! After I pointed out that this was really wrong, they refunded my original labor payment and told me to kick rocks. This led me to have to pay another mechanic another $800 to get the job finished so I could commute to work. read more

I was referred to this shop from Raul at the O'Reilly's off Lincoln Rd after getting charged an egregious $246 for a diagnostic at C&M automotive and given a $1,071 quote to replace 1 valve cover gasket, 4 ignition coils, and an oil change and that's without replacing the 4 spark plugs I bought to do myself in the parking lot. My Honda civic broke down on the way to Chico due to cylinder misfires and C&M told me it was going to be fixed by tmrw for an astounding total of $1,317. I took my Honda next door to The Fix It spot and was greeted by AJ right away. He took a look at my quote from C&M and said "I can do this for a third of the price." Then he immediately goes to my car and looks under the hood and instantly realizes that I didn't need a new gasket and only needed 2 ignition coils not 4. He asked me if I could get the parts for him as he was clearly busy working on someone else's vehicle when I arrived. When I asked him if my Honda was good to drive to the parts store, he immediately threw me his keys and said "take mine." He installed the new spark plugs and ignition coils within 5 minutes. The cost of labor, 2 ignition coils, and 4 spark plugs was just slightly more than what I paid for the $246 diagnostic at C&M. AJ didn't charge me for a diagnostic and it took him less than a minute to complete one. This was by far the best customer service experience I've ever had. The world needs more people like AJ. This was an eye opening experience as to the difference between auto shops that engage in deceptive practices and those who have integrity and perform the work that's needed. With that, I recognize that the gaskets may need to be replaced in the near future as AJ sealed them up to get me back on the road so that I can get to Chico and go to work the next day. I will be reaching out to him soon to schedule getting those replaced if needed. read more

Do not bring your vehicles here. My husband took my vehicle here and it is now MUCH worse than it was before he touched it. One spark plug replacement has turned into a fuel injector issue and MULTIPLE other issues. Not only has he denied even touching my vehicle, but upon inspecting my vehicle, HE RIPPED UP CARPET in my backseat and clearly went through my vehicle either looking for something or to further damage it. When he was confronted about the issue with the engine, his work, him lying, and the carpet issue, he denies even touching my vehicle. He is also refusing to give me receipts, details of what he did, and a refund on the work he did that further damaged my engine. Also, when speaking to where he ordered the parts, he was told MULTIPLE TIMES by the staff that he was ordering the wrong parts. Ive done further research and he did indeed order and install the INCORRECT PARTS in my vehicle. Due to the fact that he will not peacefully rectify the issue, I am ensuring the public knows, the BBB knows, and am reporting him to the BAR immediately. read more

This place is a joke! I brought my car in April of 2023 and was supposed to get 02 sensor replaced, spark plugs, and valve adjust. My check engine light came back on like a week after leaving thought it was my cat because I know that's bad took it to another mechanic and said still 02 sensor - when I came in here I told them b2s1 they did b1s1 and didn't do valves adjust just replaced throttle body gasket. Called and talked to AJ about it and he said the most they'd do is refund $60 even though I paid $225 for labor plus $300 in parts. Then proceeded to text me after not even wanting to do $60 refund that he mad over half a million last year.... There supposed to help the low income community but they just want to rip you off and don't pay attention to their work trying to collect money. Just to give an update on my first review, I won the court case against The Fix-It Spot. With all of the evidence the judge decided that they were culpable for their actions. I was awarded a settlement. The unfortunate part is that Ajay came up to me after the court hearing and told me that he is going to pay in small increments and he's going to drag it out as long as possible. It's unfortunate that not only did he put my life in danger by his negligence, but now he is wanting to penalize me for him being held responsible for his actions. I took my vehicle to this spot in Yuba City. At first I thought that they were really good people. I wanted to become friends with them. They did work on my front end (inner and outer tie rods, upper and lower control arms, sway bar links), shocks, transmission lines and headlights. After having to go back a couple of times to the Fix-It Spot and going to numerous other shops it was concluded that they forgot to bolt down my shocks, my whole driver side sway bar link was missing, they were supposed to replace the idler arm and pitman arm in order for me to have a successful alignment, but they did not suggest it, and numerous other issues. I was told that the owner AJ has a really bad gambling problem which has caused problems with his company's finances, as well as does not have the knowledge to be working on vehicles, which is evident in the failure to repair my vehicle properly. Even though they are catered to low income people, it is not worth getting your vehicle fixed here because you will end up spending double the money to fix it right. It is also unfathomable that they do not want to take responsibility for their actions. Believe me when I tell you that your life can be put in danger because their inability to be honest, as well as they lack knowledge to properly repair your vehicle. It is also unfortunate that they want to try to say that I removed the part from my vehicle just to get my money back, they also said that I'm doing this in retaliation because one of their employees flaked on me for a date and basically that I'm trying to extort them. None of these accusations are true, they are attempts to make me look bad to discredit my claims. By the way I haven't been able to get my alignment done yet because I'm still working on repairing what they damaged. read more
