This project required all day, he worked hard on it and it was more difficult than he anticipated, somewhat due to his approach. I paid him substantially more than he asked due to the difficulty and his time spent. When he left for the evening, the project was not complete, but we agreed he would return to complete the job.....But, he never did. I called him several times and attempted to schedule a follow-up to complete the work, but he could not find a date that worked for him. He stated he had other jobs to do. I am very disappointed that Joe did not compete the job or follow up with an attempt to complete it. I finally got tired of calling him to schedule. The work that was completed is substandard and I am left with the problem of getting the job done another way.

What I like most about Steve is that he takes the initiative to solve problems instead of just doing the minimum required. For example, when he removed the old toilet, he discovered that the water pipe was surrounded by plant roots. He proactively bought a root killer and treated the area to help prevent future damage. Steve is very responsive, easy to communicate with, and extremely thorough. Since these are my rental properties, I'm often not there in person, but he always keeps me updated with photos and videos throughout the job, giving me complete peace of mind. His pricing is also very reasonable, and the quality of his work is excellent. I highly recommend Steve to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled handyman.

Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. The second was to mount a large flat screen TV on an existing, dated TV cabinet. He designed it first and with approval, built a fine TV mount on new board over the old TV cabinet, taking care to hide all wires and speakers. The last item was (I think) the most difficult, as we wanted to match a handrail on an opposite side wall of the existing handrail in our older house for better stair safety. The handrail profile was very difficult to find, but he persisted and knew that only a matching profile would look nice. He finally found it, and described to me the many decisions he made to have it match the other side (angle, where it started and stopped, how far away from the wall, etc). I had no idea about how painstaking it was, but I can tell you that it looks like it had always been there and I so appreciate what a perfectionist he is. Steve is pleasant to work with and a good communicator. We will use him again, and I highly recommend him. Thanks Steve!
