They are charging a non sufficient funds fee and telling me that my bank is charging them. That is their level of knowledge. They should know that it is their bank or the software trying to put money into our accounts even for no fault of ours. I had a direct deposit for almost 2 years and when I am tryng to move out they are doing all kinds of software glitches and trying to charge me as much as possible thinking that I cannot do anything. These guys are nasty and the people who work here change every couple of months and they just hire any person of the street to fill the seat and these people think they own the apartment complex. Be careful with them. I would rather rent somewhere else unless every where is as nasty as them and you are helpless.

They were…read moreunquestionably the best place about the move-out process: not only did they honor the few things we noted on the move-in inspection, they even allowed us to move out without repainting since they were going to give it a fresh coat anyway. They were also efficient about sending the security deposit back. It made the moving process totally stress-free. One thing I should mention is that there were some staff changes before we left. Amy moved out of state, and Pam moved over to managing the Crossgates. It's not like it made a huge change, but things just weren't quite as smoothly run as they used to be. Overall though, we had a really good experience living at the Avalon, so I wouldn't let the change in management deter you.

Our fridge didn't work when we moved in so they replaced it with a brand new one. There is an exterminator that comes regularly so the bugs are at a minimum. We did not have a washer/dryer in our unit, but there is a nice laundry room in the complex and a commercial laundromat just across the street. Just a five minute drive from Main Street, it's not too far from all the action but it is far enough away that it is nice and quiet. Very family friendly, no noisy parties or busy traffic and there is a park just down the street. The grounds are well kept and look great. DO NOT let the super low price scare you away, these are great apartments and we'd live here again if we had it to do over. We signed our contract without having seen the apartments and were very nervous. Our plan was to just stay here until we could find something better, but we loved it so much we spent our entire stay in Starkville here in this complex.

They run MaxxSouth 50 Megabits which makes gaming functional. Only thing is that they do not alot enough money for the utilities. The ammount that they have is not really enough to house 4 adults. The only time we didn't have an overage was in the winter months when we were not running the AC or heater. In the summer we had $25 each for overage. The pool is nice, they just got new chairs to go around it. The clubhouse is nice and they haven't messed up any of my mail yet. They offer little things now and then, like free breakfast and free little pick me ups sometimes. Haven't had the luck these other reviews are talking about, possibly new management? If we have something broken they usually fix it. Just takes time. Overall it's good. I've lived in cheaper but had to drive to campus and furnish the place myself. 21 is more or less for younger people without furnishings to live on their own. Move in ready.

Maintenance cant do anything that requires more than a hammer, or a screwdriver. Management typically has no clue whats going on and can be rude. Like ive had no air for three weeks and the first thing the management lady told me to do when I was telling her about it was to "clam down" mind you the heat index has been like 110 the entire time ive been without AC. They also didnt provide window units until I complained THE SECOND TIME about not having air. Also the roommate situations ive lived in have been a nightmare. Moving in people without notice of the opposite gender too despite clearly listed gender preferences (this led to a pretty traumatic personal experience for me). All in all dont come here they will take your money and disregard you otherwise.

Cops will sit in our parking lot and prey & so will Apex Towing and even have fluctuations in their pricing depending on time of the day even if they're out rowing! Tried to sublease to another lady and they messed up all the paperwork on her end. I've been asking to talk to a manager for a week now about it, nothing. And not to mention they do not give clear stories as to why or how they don't update you of such. Predatory from every single angle. Can't get out of a lease unless it is a sublease which will indeed get screwed up anyways.
