While the staff can't control the weather, it seemed as though they could've done more so that the animals would be more comfortable in the heat! The day ended up being miserably uncomfortable for us, as well as the animals. Some were impatiently pacing in their cages. Some were just lying around in the dirt. Two were recovering from surgeries. All of the animals looked well cared for and some were enjoying some snacks while we were there. Our "walking tour" included a walk around the facility to each animal's habitat and the guide discussing multiple facts about the animals lives and journey to the Reserve. Start to finish, it took about an hour and included a bottled water. I'd recommend strollers for your kids. It's an unsafe place to allow young children to wander around. The "public" restroom is a port-o-let outside the gated entrance to the reserve. It was just as clean as the ones at a football game/concert! There is no gift shop but they do ask for donations and give you a t-shirt in return. In movie terms, the reserve is the equivalent of a low-budget film. It's saving grace is the effort to keep these animals alive, but as they all grow, I feel like this "low-budget film will not be able to keep up with the demand! Too few employees for so many demanding large animals.

Huge bathroom with incredible shower.There is ac but we spent most of the time with the screen door and bathroom window open & it felt great. Included inside:mini fridge, toaster, coffee/tea (included),microwave and a small heater. Plenty of plugs to charge & a full length mirror. We love that there was no tv because we got to watch highland cows instead !! We also got to sleep to rain and it was so peaceful especially waking up every morning to new friends like pigs and sheep! We also saw: 4 highland cows!! , 2 different types of pigs, a family of sheep (+Anya the sassiest girl), cats, dogs, goats, turkeys (that like hugs but scared meee), guinea fowls, chickens and hens, mini horses and a peacock that sounds like Kevin from UP in the nighttime !! All the staff were super friendly including miss Elaine! Truly an incredible place to visit and get to feed pigs all day.

I know shame on me.so here's how I really feel about the farm, and the owner (Kirk) I love that place, I am constantly thinking about them. I worked there for 3 years. And in those years, I learned so much about the horses I love so much. It's been a place for me to heal after the passing of my husband and father. Very majestic, calming. Now the website says business hours and. Blah, blah blah,But Kirk is amazing and will do his very best to acomadate u and your family in what ever it is your heart desires. As long as it is legal, and not going to harm the animals. That being said, please forgive me for my uglyness and give it a shot, I promise you will have a great time, and you will return to become a part the family.

My teen mentioned wanting to try…read morearchery so I purchased a Two-Hour Explore Archery Class for Two Groupon for her and the hubby. The hubby didn't care to go so I took both my girls. This place is out in the middle of nowhere. I guess it kinda needs to be as their website states the facility has four acres of land and an eight acre lake. The only thing that identified that we were at the right place was a small sign on the gate. I parked and was warmly greeted by Dawson. He advised us where to go and to check in with our vouchers. Prior to coming here I had reserved the spots as instructed on the Groupon. This is a family owned business operated by a mother (Lureen) and son (Dawson) team. Both are instructors but Dawson was the one that lead the session that day. They started by telling us about the bow types (they used Olympic quality bow), proper handling and the safety aspects. The first hour was to get familiar with the stance and bows. The session had 14 people so Dawson would take up 3 - 4 at a time and coach them on the proper techniques. He was very encouraging and patient. By the 2nd hour, most everyone was more comfortable with shooting they started a challenge to determine the winner. While people were waiting their turns, they were entertained by the free range animals there. The pigs were both really cute and friendly, there was a rescue duck, two rescue horses, 11 goats (they were roaming somewhere so no one saw them) and probably a bunch of other animals we didn't see. Dawson was even surprised when he saw the duck and asked when his mom had gotten her. Lol. Right now it's hot everywhere and I wasn't sure how they would conduct the class outside in the heat. There's a shade canopy for people to sit under and it had a nice breeze but if you sweat easily, maybe wait until it gets cooler for a more comfortable experience. I'm not sure but they might have evening sessions as well. Besides archery, gardening & fishing classes are offered as well as kayak rentals. Both Lureen and Dawson were very personable and they did an great job in educating everyone about the sport and made sure they had fun while doing it. Come and check them out!

Starting with the early communication with Melissa which was easy over a couple of days, mostly via text was was easy for me because I was between work and home. I was planning a surprise party for my boyfriend with a mix of adults & children attending at our home. Jesse & their son Jonah came the day of the party with a great variety of animals. The animals were all friendly & clearly had been socialized to be comfortable around groups of people including the children. They arrived early & set up quickly. Everyone had a great time! Guests were allowed to feed carrots to the animals which was fun. Clean up was quick & efficient! I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering something unique! It is located on a residential street, and I…read morealmost missed it because the entrance isn't obvious and I needed to call for help, but they were super friendly and appreciated the 8lbs of apples we brought to feed the animals. The animals were all very sweet and hungry around dinner time! We could easily feed them through the wire fence, and everyone stayed safe that way. We didn't get there on a day with other activities but we would definitely try those next time. We were there around closing time but they graciously let us go in to feed everyone, and were super thankful. For feeding, this will take as long as the food you have to feed lasts, but again, other activities will make it more of a destination stop. We had a fun time watching and feeding as a short stop on our way to return our rental car and head to the airport.
