Great course! Some really nice holes overlooking marsh and some unique par 3 holes. Course was in good shape - played Thursday 11am. Tee boxes were good, greens very good couple fairway were bare but not a complaint. Very nice practice facility - driving range, chipping area and a putting green. #18 par 5 was a nice final hole across water. Friendly staff, check-in was easy and there was a beverage cart on the course. read more

Great event last weekend, the place is very nice for small or large events. I took part in a small event the food was great as was the service. I can only complain about the AC it was cooler outside than inside so many of the older people seemed a bit hot. It truly was a blessing that it was actually so very cool outside. This event took place on 6/26/2022 the yard area was very impressive as you can see why so many pictures were taken. The staff was very attentive and the food was very good the skirt steak as the vegetable and grouper were all very well prepared. read more

This is a lovely little town with very interesting people living here. I love all of the amenities that this place has to offer. The pool area is nice, not deep enough but still very spacious. The check in clerk at the pool should be more friendly though, I feel like he's constantly shouting while checking my family. The kiddy pool is getting a transformation into a mini water splash and should be completed by the end of the July. I'm excited for my kids to try it out and enjoy the rest of the summer there. read more

We were so happy with everything, from the planning process to the rehearsal and day of preparation. We started off working with Lexi, then we were switched to Misty, who worked with Crystal on the planning of the ceremony, rehearsal, cocktail hour, and reception. Misty was easy to communicate with, kept us on the timeline of what needed to be done, offered decorations and props that were already at Palencia so that we could save money, and she offered tips and ideas to make our day perfect. We had to make a quick adjustment to the wedding, as it was supposed to be outdoors for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and it was rainy on the day before and day of the wedding, so we had to quickly move it indoors. But, everything worked out, and we had a perfect day. Misty made sure that everything was packed up by the end of the night, and we did not have to worry about bringing anything with us in the getaway car. We had plenty of leftovers from Chef Kevin, who made our dinner amazing and delicious! We loved working with everyone one, the staff was great, and it was the perfect day for us. read more

We had our beautiful wedding at the Palencia Club, May 2024. After looking at what we believe was almost every possible venue in and around Jacksonville, we stumbled upon the Club and we were initially impressed with the beautiful outdoor space that overlooked the entire golf course. We had originally wanted a beach-style wedding, but could not find affordable options in the area and felt that the Palencia Club still offered a beautiful and almost-beach style vibe as it overlooks a massive lake, complete with lots of beautiful flower gardens, palm trees and fountains. The upstairs room that we used for our dinner was welcoming and unstuffy as it has lots of windows allowing for sweeping views of the entire golf course, sunsets and also has connected outdoor decks that overlook the outdoor space where our ceremony took place. It did not feel like a traditional ballroom which was also important to us. The Palencia Club is really is a one-stop shop venue which helped take a lot of leg work out of the planning process for us. They have all tables and chairs onsite, an Arch for your ceremony if you want to rent it and linens which you can also upgrade if you feel necessary. Misty Beasley was our day-of coordinator and offered a lot of great recommendations to us throughout the planning process. We highly recommend hiring her to manage everything behind the scenes because she knows the facility front to back - she can even build you beautiful bouquets and decorate for you - also recommend!!! Misty did an excellent job coordinating all day-of logistics on our big day. We found her to be very knowledgeable, personable and professional, direct and extremely organized. Any special requests we had, she found a way to make them happen and helped ensure that any outside vendors we used were organized and on the same page for the big day! Compared to most venues where food is prepared onsite, the food at the Palencia Club is AMAZING. We chose to serve our guests buffet style so that people could eat as much as they wanted to and offered salmon, skirt steak and pasta primavera as our main dishes. The salmon was our personal favorite, but all options were very well prepared and stayed hot and fresh for guests for the entire dinner service. We received a lot of great feedback on the food. Chef and Misty were willing to customize the menu however we wanted and they offer a variety of packages to suit any budget. We cannot say enough great things about the Palencia Club and Misty Beasley! Our day was beyond perfect, we wish we could do it all over again. I had my wedding here 5/28/17. Unfortunately, we would not have our wedding at Palencia if we could do it all over again. The A/C went out and many of our guests left due to the heat. I had to tell the staff to bring in fans, so guests would not be so uncomfortable. Management blamed our band for "blowing a fuse". After speaking with other Palencia club members I found out this wasn't the first time the A/C quit. Following the wedding, their management (Tom Underwood) did nothing to communicate their apologies to us. The only way we could get their attention was to stop payment on our final check. Management staff were consistently rude, and their legal staff (Kamli) threatened to take legal action for "defamation" if we posted a negative review on social media. Hello! That's what reviews are for-- to share our experiences with the public! Legal also told us that the A/C failure was "not within their control and was not a breach of contract", so that meant that they "do not owe us any compensation." My photos of the night portray a different story. Everyone is covered in sweat and half of the guests either left the club or paid for drinks out of pocket in the downstairs bar. We have given them plenty of opportunities to reconcile but they consistently shrug us off. With a price tag of nearly $15,000 for just the room rental, food, and drinks, I would have expected better customer service. I'll note the positives about this venue, although they were overshadowed by the overall experience and A/C debacle. The food and catering staff were great. Sara Martinson, the event coordinator, was good too; but she was not able to offer anything to reconcile the issues. I do wish their management and Corporate would take a cue from their staff and work on improving their customer service skills... especially for someone's wedding! The air conditioning should not be an issue at an establishment like this. It's too bad that we will always remember our wedding day with the stigma of an overheated, muggy reception and a nasty management team. BEWARE of this establishment! read more

Just had our wedding reception there. Misty and the team were FANTASTIC and we absolutely loved our reception. Misty helped me a lot along the way in planning the reception, and they were able to make quite a few last minute requests happen for us. Misty also gave a bunch of great recommendations for vendors. The Reinosa Ballroom was a beautiful setting and a had a nice patio with a great view that we used for photos and our guests hung out on it. Price was honestly pretty reasonable for such a nice venue that had a bar and catering service and pretty view. They were very dedicated. Misty even offered to take my dirty tissue from me the night of our reception (didn't give it to her but I was impressed). Highly recommend. read more

Played here today. Very nice golf course. However, it's a private club and you need to be a member or be with one in order to play here. The GPS does not take you to the clubhouse. So, be prepared to look for signs. If you do get the chance to play here, try to come early. They have a pretty nice practice facility, complete with chipping and putting greens. Also, the driving range comes with free range balls. Each golf cart also comes with a towel and a few tees. If it's not enough you'll find more tees in a wooden box next the 1st tee box.
