Terrible service! Furniture warranty purchased from rooms to go for leather sofa and loveseat. Noticed two small scratches on sofa and they sent someone out to look at it. A week later received a voicemail to call rooms to go for my answer. Well surprise it's not covered even though when we purchased our furniture at rooms to go everything was covered no matter what. Paid almost 2k to protect my purchases, called to have my white leather couch repaired and was denied, I had rooms to go contact them to tell them how frustrated I was and to cancel the contract. The individual I talked was extremely inefficient and was on hold most of the time. I believe they refunded 1k of the 2k. I will be contacting the BBB and the flordia department of agriculture plus any other steps if this isn't corrected. Or possible legal recourse. Fortegra Funriture protection policy is a scam, and this crooked company is doing fraudulent business. We turned in a claim to have a soiled dinning room chair replaced. When we purchased the chairs, it masde sense to protect it from food stains, since we are eating on out dining room chairs. At first they argued that itr wasn't a food stain. Then they argued it was an accumulation of stains, not stemming from one incident (the food had gottenon the chair in more than one place). Then they said, we didn't take the necessary precaution to prevent the staining. We had a Rooms To Go Tech come out and look at it and confrim that it was food stains and that those weren't coming out. He told us that it would have to be replaced. DO NOT purchase this bogus protection plan. As a matter of fact, if Rooms To Go sells such horrible add on products, just skip Room To Go all together. read more

After 6 months the wood finish cracked and peeled on our outdoor sectional sofa and coffee table (despite buying and applying their Teak Protector and Teak Shield products) and by 2 years they were just awful. Bought the Fortegra insurance policy and submitted a claim. Never heard back from them. The phone number on their website goes to an answering machine that directs you back to their website. Claim status says pending for months. Rooms To Go manager doesn't return my call. When I finally get Fortegra on the phone they claim they sent me an email but are unable to produce a copy of it. By this time they say my service agreement has expired, and that there is nothing they or Rooms To Go is willing to do about it. Fraudulent business practices: Beware! read more

Very sad experience. I had an extended warranty on some furniture I purchased last year. The table suffered some surface damage from A scented oil spill. They seemed determined to deny my claim. I was given a different reason each time I refuted the previous one. Lastly, they claimed that it was impossible that the spill could have caused the damage in the pictures I sent them, based on the information they alleged they saw on the air fresher manufacturer website. When I said it depends on the surface in question I was told that Fortegra did not build the table so they know nothing about that. Unfortunately based on other reviews and complaints filed with the BBB my experience is not unique. Note: their contract limits the recourse you have, including waiving the right to be part of a class action lawsuit. This explains a lot considering the number of customers they have betrayed. We've had our couches for over 2 years and have taken good care of them. One of the zippers busted and an armrest broke. They immediately denied our claim as "zippers are not covered" and they completely ignored the armrest. I purchased a couple of sectionals and coffee tables from rooms to go. In addition, we paid for a 3-year warranty that was pushed by the sales team. We have had three issues in a year so far. One couch makes noises when we sit; the other is developing tears in the cushions, and the coffee table has developed some water stains from one of the kids leaving a cup on the table. All these issues are supposed to be covered in this warranty; however, the warranty has tried to find every loophole possible not to cover it, and we have been bounced back and forth from warranty to room to go customer service, pointing fingers at each other. Fortegra, is full of BS! I purchased my daughters bedroom set from Rooms To Go and bout the extended protection. The headboard has fabric and because it needed to be cleaned slightly I took a little cold water and Woolite and wiped it off. However, it stain when it shouldn't have. You can take Woolite and soak you gentle fabrics. The rep who came out to look at it took pictures and said they should replace it or send someone to clean. I called numerous times and got the run around. I finally called again today to hear that they denied it because I used a chemical other than the Rooms to Go , are they serious? Finally got around to calling to have them fixed and was told because we didn't call within 30 days of the "issues", it was not covered but that if it "got worse" to call and it would be covered. My wife and I purchased a couch from rooms to go just over a year ago. We also purchased the 3 year extended warranty through Fortegra. Our year old couch has not worn well at all, the fabric is pilling, cushions don't hold weight and the seams on the seats are tearing. The cushions are built in to the couch, and are an integral part of the structure to the entire couch. The cushions can not be removed to be repaired. I attempted to file a claim today and was denied! So 2 grand out the window. The extended warranty is a scam, don't bother. Attempted to file a claim against my service contract for stains to a sofa caused by dirty handprints. Denied because the contract only covers stains caused "as a result of normal spills from food and beverages, pet biological stains, ball point pen ink, and nail polish." ....but not touching. I'll take partial blame for not reading the multi-page contract in the store and counting on the word of the rooms-to-go salesman who assured me that the contract covers all accidental stains. However, they own the majority of the blame by intentionally writing a contract too limited to use. Fair warning to anyone who may be looking at their other products. If they'll red-tape you out of a $100 sofa cleaning, imagine the probability of them paying a $1M claim from their life insurance. Not a gamble I'd take. The worst company ever! I purchased a sectional from Rooms to Go and it has a hole in it. I bought their overpriced insurance policy because the sectional is fabric. I put a claim in and it was instantly denied. I spoke to a manager and again denied. I reported them to the better business bureau and filed a claim against them. So far nothing. I purchased a dining room table set on 8/9/18 from Rooms to Go (RTG). I was encouraged by the salesperson to buy the "great warranty that covers everything." in case "there is ever an issue over the next five years with either manufacturer defects or accidental damage." The warranty was from Fortegra. In July of 2019, I noticed a section of the table top was warping. I contacted RTG in July 2019, and I did not get a call back. The same thing happened when I contacted them in October 2019. I called back again in December, and I was told a technician would come out to check the damage. The technician (and another contractor) stated that the table design was problematic because there is a decorative cut along the inner edge of the table that can attract moisture or be sensitive to extreme temperature changes. The table is in my small dining room next to a heat/air vent. I did not know about this potential issue until I spoke to the technician. When the side edge of the cut wood (which you can not see from above) is exposed to either moisture or extreme temperature changes, the wood starts to warp and come apart. Once this happens, there is no way to repair the top of the table without replacing the table top. I was told by two wood experts and one RTG technician...that it, "Should be covered." I was also advised to select another style if given that option, "or you will have the same problem." While I was disappointed because I love this table set, I fully expected our warranty from Fortegra to take care of the problem. This was not the case. I contacted Nick Carinale, a claims examiner, and he said, "The warranty does not cover water damage." When I explained the issue, I asked how what happened was not an accident or a manufacturing defect. He said, he understood and did not disagree with me. But, it would not be covered. When I asked him to please connect me with a supervisor, he said he would let them know, and a supervisor would get in contact with me within 24 hours. This did not happen.
