I am a long time member of BYAZ. Both BYAZ studios have gone downhill for me. What happened to the HOT challenging Bikram yoga classes? I used to get a "cold" class once in a long while, and now I feel the opposite is true. The fans are blowing the entire class and the humidity is kept at 20%, rather than the advertised 40%. I feel like I'm going to get sick every time I'm there, standing half-naked in a lukewarm humid room with fans blowing cold air on me. Most of the students aren't even sweating. The studios now offer 60 minute "basic" classes with less humidity/heat, which is great for beginners and the like, but for the die hard students who have been practicing a long time, we still want hot and challenging classes! It seems the owners are now focused on their 60 minute classes and making all classes, even the traditional 90 minute Bikram classes, easier, cooler, and more "accessible" to bring in more people. There are plenty of studios in the valley that offer non-heated classes for people who are intimidated by hot yoga. Please bring back the heat!!!! read more

I was a very well practiced yogini once upon a time, and just decided to jump back into it after a long absence. It can be a great class and definitely good for strength, flexibility and endurance. The big downside continues to be that the heat and humidity are not well regulated. There are a couple of teachers like Nikki who are very consistent with moderating the heat and humidity, and a couple of others who seem to adopt a "more is better" mentality and crank it up, and that leads to heat exhaustion and detracts tremendously from the benefits of the workout. It's too bad, because everything else from the dialogue to the postures is very uniform; you would think they'd figure out that being consistent and careful with the temperature would be just good common sense. Wish I could give it 5 stars, and I will revise if they do fix this issue. read more

The root word for yoga is "Yog" which means union. The yoga instructors are only in the yoga game to take your money. Americanized yoga at it's finest, folks. Watered down lessons, greedy people. The head instructor is an East Indian, cheeky tart who is drunk with her own power and won't think twice about putting you down while you're practicing a yoga pose to attempt to make you feel small so she can feel in control and get a giggle from her sheep followers. Add to the arsenal of instructors some man-bun midgets and some tatted up white trash and that's the Foundry, in a nut-shell, folks. What an awesome studio with amazing people and instructors! There's a variety of classes from 90 minute classic to 60 minute basic to hot pilates, handstand classes, high-intensity interval training....so something for everyone! The front desk is especially welcoming, and as well, the instructors are the best! They really take the time to encourage you and explain things. Not to mention, there's the cutest yoga outfits available in the boutique and the facility has a great modern feel and is super clean. I have been doing Bikram yoga on and off for 13 years. My last restart was in 2009. This time I will never let Bikram out of my life again. The proof that it's good is that I kept coming back even after years off. This studio just made it come together for me. The staff is great and the location is close to my work. The 5:30 class time is perfect for me. I can get to work by 7:30. They have many class times to choose from to fit anyone's schedule. No more excuses! read more

I've been attending the Foundry for almost 15 years. It is a great community of people trying to care for their bodies! The instructors are very knowledgeable and bring phenomenal energy to every class. Even the 530am classes which I have attended the most. some people don't like the heat, yet I find it allows my stretches to go deeper. looking for a place to practice yoga or try it for the first time....I recommend the Foundry. I did Bikram yoga for a few months w/ my girl friend. Its such a different work out. I just can't always go because its so long. But, that's got nothing to do w/ the studio, it just is that way. I like this place because its really clean and the staff has a cool vibe. I know the instructions are a script that everyone follows, but I got a lot of good individual attention from these guys. So I like it a lot. I just need more time so I can keep going back! read more

I love Bikram Yoga AZ! You never regret going there. Just making it into the room is such an accomplishment. Bikram Yoga isn't easy by any means, but it's a time to be with yourself, to focus on yourself and become who you want to be through breathing, stretching and healing. I have been practicing at this studio for 5 years and would reccommend it as a great place to practice. The staff is very knowledgeable and makes everyone feel at home. They have recently added some 60 minute classes, pilates, strength training and HIIT classes. They have a wide schedule that makes it easy to find a class. I love the wide range of classes and times available. I am able to find a class i can fit into my schedule every single day. I enjoy them all - Hot Pilates, Hot HIIT, 90 minute Basic Bikram, and 60 minute express yoga. The instructors are very knowlegable, friendly, and helpful. Hooked! Love each time I get to go to the Foundry. The classes are varied from HIIT, to barre, Pilates and to various yoga classes. They offer classes early mornings and into the evening so there are lots of options. When I moved from SF to Phoenix, I found the studio closest to home and hoped for the best. I gotta say that this is a great studio. They've built a great community of teachers and students. The recent trend towards a variety of different classes has been great. It creates some choice, while remaining largely within the routines Bikram created. read more

I've been practicing at The Foundry for seven years and it's one of my favorite places to be. It was remodeled a couple of years ago and looks so fresh and modern!
