    2nd row Balcony

A charming and fun experience that's super convenient for folks in, and around, Franklin. Compared to other venues, even the balcony affords a greater view and an intimate experience. There is an array of dining options nearby for the pre-event repast. Parking at the public deck by the county courthouse on 4th St is free and a three-minute walk away. What more could you need for a fun evening out?

I came here for a meeting with the Visit Franklin people and the Downtown Franklin Association. The meeting was great, but it was hard to focus because of how beautiful this theater looks. It's over 80-years old and was renovated 10-years ago? I love the retro look of the lobby and all of the pictures on walls highlighting the venues history. They have officially opened the theatre back up for live concerts and will be starting their holiday movie nights once the season starts. When in Franklin, you must visit the theatre!

Loved seeing a comedy show here. My only complaint was there was only one person working the bar side. There was quite a long wait. Oh, and the bartender added water to our old fashioneds (I don't know why). But loved the venue and the experience.

We visited for the awesome show of Lee Roy Parnell and Friends - including the beautiful Ms. Lisa Stewart and the incredible guitarists Seth James and Anson Funderburgh. These guys put on a helluva show. Lots of historic charm as Franklin theater was originally built in the 1930's, fell into disrepair in the 00's and eventually went through a big-budget renovation and restoration. Incredible sound and lighting system, comfortable seats and an overall great feel to the place. Loved the easy bar and concessions service. A great place to see a live show.

The Franklin Theatre opened in 1937 and closed in 2007. Thankfully theFranklin and Williamson County Heritage Foundation raised eight million dollars to preserve and reopen the beautiful Franklin theatre. The 2021 calendar is filled with live performances of all kinds. (Music, movies, live theatre, dance and more) Tickets are available on their website along with an opportunity to donate for a great cause.

    Pre show!

The walk up to the theater is just as enchanting as the theater itself. Families eating ice cream on park benches whilst petting the family pooch. Couples strolling hand in hand after a quaint dinner. (Insert small town charm cliche here- you will see it) The theater is modern yet it retains all the old world charm of yesteryear. It s the perfect theater to be located on Main Street USA. The music and movie selections are varied and interesting... but never in poor taste. The bar has ample offerings. The seats are comfortable. The views are great from every seat. Boom. Boom. And boom. That checks all the boxes for me. 5 stars without hesitation.

Movies and Music and More (aka) Mm Mm Good! I could probably list 1937 reasons to visit this historic venue on Main Street in downtown Franklin....but that would be an understatement. And if "these walls could talk," we all would be mesmerized by the rich history, star-studded performances, and intimate charm of this venerable theater. Opened in 1937, the theater has run the gamut of glory, bumps, restoration, and revival. It has hosted live performances from A to Z featuring a rainbow of stars like Amy Grant, Blind Boys of Alabama, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Four Freshmen (a little nostalgia here), Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras (more nostalgia from my most recent visit), Jars of Clay, Los Lobos, Lynda Carter, Macy Gray, Percy Sledge (am I showing my age with these favorites?), Riders in the Sky, Second City, Sheryl Crow (another local), Don McLean (how about a slice of "American Pie, Vincent"? ... (sorry, a much too out-of-line pun), Vince Gil, Wynonna, Zinghoppers. OK....that's a tease from A-Z but really just a peek of the full list - which, of course, grows with each season. But wait! There's more ... including live theater like "The Lion King," "Smokey Joe's Cafe," "Peter Pan." Need I say more? Well, I think I will...let's say, "movies." If you'd like to see a Golden Globes and Academy Award nominated musical, "The Greatest Showman" or maybe an animated feature, "Ferdinand" this would be the place. Or perhaps you'd like something a bit more personally interactive like a screening of the award-winning, faith-based musical film, "Broken & Beautiful.," a film that features popular Contemporary Christian Music and... members of both the cast and crew who will be present for a Q&A following the film. Folks, these are everyday kinds of things at this incredible theatre. But wait! There's even more. Food, glorious food. This isn't just the old box of popcorn, folks. Concessions at the Franklin Theatre include the aforementioned fresh popcorn, candy, various soft drinks, beer and wine. They even have a full bar that is open during select events. And one more thing ... wait for it ... they also serve an exclusive, locally produced chocolate bar called "Showtime!" with dark chocolate, almonds, caramel, and sea salt. Did I mention free parking close by in downtown Franklin? Yep, on the street or just around the corner in the 4th Street garage. Well, after all that one might say, "Elvis has left the building," but that would be erroneous. Seven of the "Nashville Elvis Festival" events will be held in March 2018 at the Franklin Theatre. Wise men say, only fools don't go here...or something like that. And with that....it's a wrap ... uh, thank yu....thank ya vurry much.

Enjoyed the SistersFirst book tour at the Franklin Theatre. Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush were fantastic. The theatre is quite small and the balcony only has 4 rows. It is a very nice venue. Their is a bar area and the restrooms are nice

The franklin theatre. Downtown franklin. Full of charm and even a time capsule to be opened in 75 years!

Wow. I love this place. Full of charm, thrill, culture, and fun! I saw a theatrical performance of 'A Christmas Carol' last night by Studio Tenn. What a wonderful and festive night at the theatre! I sipped on hot tea throughout the show, and felt like I went back in time! The Franklin Theater embodies a taste of history, culture and community. Beer, wine, coffee, tea... The whole bit!

From the moment I sank into those ultra-comfortable, spacious reclining chairs, I knew this was going to be something special. The seats are ridiculously plush--plenty of room to stretch out, perfect recline, and enough space that even my tall frame didn't feel cramped. It felt more like lounging in my living room than sitting in a theater, but with a massive screen and incredible sound. As for the movie itself, "A Great Awakening" is an absolute masterpiece. It's powerful, thought-provoking, and emotionally gripping from start to finish. The storytelling is masterful, the performances are outstanding, and the cinematography is breathtaking. I was completely immersed the entire time. It left me inspired, moved, and genuinely uplifted--exactly what a great film should do. The theater in Franklin gets everything right: clean facilities, friendly staff, and those heavenly recliners that make the whole experience feel luxurious. I can't recommend this combination enough. If you're anywhere near Franklin, do yourself a favor and see "A Great Awakening" here. You won't just watch a great movie--you'll enjoy it in total comfort.

While this theater isn't perfect, it definitely feels like a step above others in Middle TN. There is plenty of free parking on-site. We purchased our tickets online in advance, and heeded the warning about the movie starting 20 minutes or so after the initial time listed. The staff working concessions was quick and friendly - and they seemed appropriately staffed for a busy night at the movies. Popcorn prices are pretty standard to other theaters, and they do have several other food options if you're interested in more of a meal. Our movie was showing in the Dolby Theater (6), and I feel like this made our experience even better. The seats vibrate and are synced with the action and music throughout the movie, making it a truly immersive event. The recliners are comfortable, if a bit dated. Honestly though, there are still theaters in Nashville that don't have any recliners at all, so an older recliner is still a win in my book. Thankfully, the bathrooms were pretty clean as well.

Our story: Drove an hour to see a specific film, only to be told it was sold out--even though there was no mention on the website. When we asked if there was any flexibility (since there were clearly open spots and the film had already started), the staff was rude and unsympathetic. We also asked to switch sides for the second film and were told we'd have to pay another $30 for the whole group. I get having policies, but there's a better way to communicate them with kindness. We'd had a tough day already, but the cold reception made it worse. For future reference, please update your website when a movie sells out--it saves everyone frustration. Also, why does it matter which film we watch if we're paying for two? If switching films is against policy, just explain it kindly. We even tried parking in the back to watch the other movie, only to be rudely told to move. How were we supposed to know where to park when there's no clear signage? If I were running this, I'd handle it with empathy. Something like, 'I'm sorry, we're sold out, but here's an alternative option.' Basic kindness goes a long way, especially when people come to your venue to escape tough days. Finally, the concession line is consistently a mess. We waited an hour for popcorn last time and still missed part of our movie. This time, it took the entire intermission, plus 5 minutes of the film to get fries. Hire more staff or figure out a better system. They also charge to bring your own food and then interrupt the credits to spend several minutes advertising concessions, yet the lines are still slow even during intermission. The long radio reminder to buy snacks felt excessive. Please let us enjoy the credit scenes without interruption! We will buy food if the lines aren't so long. One idea for faster food service : at my hometown drive-in theater in Cali, they used a quick, self-serve setup--grab your nachos, hot dogs and started adding the condiments, while you wait in line to pay and ask for any popcorn, or drinks. You can start grabbing pre-ready snacks as you got through the line. It took 2 min or up to 10, on busy days. It's great to offer unique items like funnel cake, but they slow down service. Consider speeding up basics like popcorn and hot dogs, or at least let customers know certain items, like funnel cake, take longer while popcorn is ready right away. Please do better. You're one of the last drive-ins left--people count on you for a good experience.
