I have to share how impressed I was with the event from beginning to end. The JROTC or other military program was there volunteering their time to put on this event. When boarding the trains, they asked if I needed assistance with Tristan's wheelchair and getting him on the train. They also asked if we needed a quieter cab because Tristan has Autism. This made us feel extremely welcomed because my son and Godson both have Autism. It was not only inclusive but equitable. There was also plenty of handicap parking when entering. Have your placard up so they know where to direct you. The entrance fee includes a ride with Thomas and is $30.85 per person. If you'd like, you can also ride Percy for an extra $10. Of course we rode both. This event is not super large and it wasn't overly crowded. That could've been due to the rain. They do allow outside food and drinks in which helps with cost. The only suggestions I'd make is to offer more seating areas. Seating seemed to be limited even with the small crowd. Another suggestion would be to have a quiet tent for kiddos to wind down in. They had games, a hay maze, bouncers, dance tent, infant changing tent, access to the museums, opportunities to ride, photo opportunities, the museum guest shop, the Thomas guest shop, and food vendors. If your children love trains, definitely take them. Next week is the last week for Thomas and he won't be back until next year.

The guides were friendly…read morefrom the start and offered to show us a historical documentary movie about the Native Americans that used to occupy the area. Afterwards, one of the guides led us to an area to create a game for the child in our group. She also chimed in about the exhibits and offered her knowledge, which we soaked up like sponges. She was great and answered all of our questions. This is a great place to stop by if you're in the area and wanting to learn about the history of the area.

Upon entering you pay $18 per adult, $10 per child and toddlers are free. They had a scavenger hunt going on for the kids so that was super exciting. You really need several hours to go through everything because it's so interesting and there's so much information to take in. The upstairs area was closed and the events hall was also closed for an event. The employees were so nice and even gave us clues about the scavenger hunt. There's lots of cool places for photos and a coloring section inside the NASA area. We got candies in the 25 cent machines, dropped coins in the donation funnel and bought toys at the gift shop. We turned in our finished scavenger hunt and got slinkies. Outside there's a massive exhibit of different aircrafts used in different wars from all around the world. There's a radio museum outside as well. Overall we had such an amazing time. What a great way to learn. I highly recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful day yesterday at the Motte Museum Big Barn Classic Car Show here in Menifee…read more This was their 12th annual event of which I've attended a few. The Sold Out car show was full of beautiful Classics, Customs, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Trucks and Low-Riders. The parking facility was loaded with eye-candy for every palate. The show was run flawlessly under the leadership of Tommie Brown and the whole team at the Motte Museum. The Big Barn was displayed with a tribute to the Corvette from the families collection. Every generation, but my favorite was the 1963 Split Window "Fuelie" on the turntable which I would have to sell one of my houses to own. From the free coffee and donuts to participants, to the cars, to the polite hard-working staff, the food trucks and awards, this was a Fantastic event. Major kuddos to Tommie and the whole Motte family.

I was fortunate the first time coming to the museum there was an excellent speaker that shared the history of how Lake Perris came to be. It was very informative and I felt like I was taken back to that time just listening to this person speak. Coming back here I didn't get that history info but I had the chance to once again read up on the history of the Native Americans that passed through and also lived here. The reads and pics are very informative. You will find beautiful baskets and such that were weaved by the Natives displayed and protected in glassed enclosures. You will find a few things at the front desk for purchase. I wish they had stickers or postcards. During this visit, we met a volunteer who was friendly and informative. He was happy to engage conversation with those asking questions or willing to listen. This building offers a grand view of the Lake and mountains in the distance. You may also access the outdoor balcony to enjoy the grand view. Maybe call ahead to inquire of guest speakers or any other activities happening within the museum. It's worth the visit. If you are inclined, there is a trail for hiking just outside the museum. You may not want to attempt though during the summer heat.

California Citrus State Historic Park is located in Riverside off of Van Buren Blvd. I have driven…read moreby here many times and this time I got to visit here as there was an event going on. The park preserves citrus groves (lots of acres here) and has historic exhibits displayed that tell stories of how citrus shaped the region's economy and culture. I really liked reading all the posters and learning about the history here ar this historic park. Who knew there was so many info about various citrus and their stages. You also have the option to wander through the orchards which was nice and relaxing and I love the fresh citrus smells! There's ample on-site parking and a designated lot where you pay $5 per vehicle for parking. As this was an event, the entrace fee coverend the parking fee so that was a nice bonus. Admission fee to the park and its visitor center/museum is free. There are also free guided grove tours on weekends to learn even more about citrus history.

I loved all the detailed rooms in this little city with matching toys. My favorite was Trader Joe's! You can dress up in their tropical t shirt, push a cart around and grab all the groceries in Trader Joe's packaging. I did notice staff and volunteers making rounds and organizing toys. I also did notice staff step in to guide a child who was playing with something incorrectly which could potentially hit another child! We visited on a weekday afternoon which was a bit busier than I expected, but I was able to maneuver baby easily if an area was too crowded. Parking options to be near entrance is limited, but there are more spots around the corner. Adults do have to pay an entrance fee but I actually don't mind it. I feel like it minimizes the amount of adults that would enter and take up space for a kids play area. I also appreciate their safety measures stated on their website: adults cannot enter without a child! If an adult is meeting with someone, they will be escorted by staff! Free lockers and stroller parking are at the entrance. I don't know if they're supposed to lock, but I just kept baby's stuff without any valuables.

Restrooms were clean and well maintained which is a big deal for littles with grabby and touchy hands. I can't speak for the women's restroom but the mens did have a child-size potty for toddlers. All in all it was a great experience, the staff did a great job picking up after the children and putting the toys back in their places for other kids, the facility was clean and well maintained.
