I was the perfect guest. I cleaned up behind myself. I was the only occupation in the room. I dont smoke, drink or use drugs. I mind my business and wasn't a nuisance to anyone. The hotel is extremely overpriced and not worth it. Despite the many problems. For one, the internet on the second floor barely works. The cable service was Interupted each and every day. The safe was broken, I couldnt use it and my room phone never made outside calls. My remote also was given a problem although I went to the front desk and the older wekend clerk gave me replacement batteries. There is no microwave in the rooms. The refrigerator I got, wasn't even working at the time. No refund is given for the inconvenience. I paid $166.32 during the week for a single room with a king size bed and $185 Friday and Saturday. The hotel is slowly turning into a trap spot. They are housing people from DSS that are homeless. They have no rules posted to ensure that you have a comfortable stay, whether or not you spend one night or 1 week. I was here for approximately 3 weeks. They put me on the second floor without an elevator. I had to tug with my luggage up the steps. They had a quest They rented a room with that had their entire family staying there. At least 4 people for sure. The kids were constantly running up and down the corridor being disruptive. Guests were allowed to smoke weed on the floor where the rooms were Instead of the parking lot. I kept getting a contact high coming in and going from my room. Guests were talking loud and playing a blue tooth speaker with music outside my door. There is a man that works the night shift that is very rude, dismissive, condicending. Whenever he works he sleeps and you cannot get anyone over the night if you have an emergency. He is quick to threaten to call the police and kick you out if you dear to ask a question or challenge what he says. I used my cash app card to pay for my room. After being disrupted for the entire time I was here and asked to be moved he decided to refund my money to the card knowing it would take sometime to be refunded. Up to 10 days. This man saw me being alone, 55 years old and still he refunded the money and telling me I have to leave. Thank GOD I have a friend I can borrow money from. The maid service are very nice and helpful although they don't speak English. There is a woman that works the day shift and a man that works the weekend shift heavy set. These two are the exception along with the overnight clerk who seem to have a serious problem and don't know how to treat guests. This man didn't care if I had money in my hand to pay for another room. I DO NOT recommend you stay here unless it's for the 4 hour rate that they offer. Also the Mexican restaurant isn't even open. Can we give 0 stars? That's what this place deserves. We stayed because we had a wedding that night and didn't want to travel dressed up. At first glance, the room looks ok. But then you start realizing it's not even close to being acceptable. The bed is extremely high. The bathroom had no vaniety and there was no where to hang up clothes. The one and only mirror had this weird lighting around it which made it dark and difficult to put make-up on. I had to do it in the car. The room looked partly renovated with a mixture of new lamps with plastic on them and old ones with brown stains. Sleeping in our car would have been a better option! Although the rooms have been recently renovated the quality of the renovation was really bad. My room had a broken shelf under the sink, a big rip in the vinyl covering the headboard and a broken handle on the nightstand. The shower leaked under the wall out into the bedroom and there was a gap under my entryway door of about 2 inches. I was there 4 days and they never replenished my coffee. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website. This is NOT some cute little boutique motel. The continental breakfast was in the lobby. Nowhere there to sit and eat. There were some apples and bananas, pop-tarts, a few muffins. Luckily coffee too. There was a lot of activity in the parking lot late into the evening. I suspect there were some deals being made. It also appears that there are some full time residents. On a positive note- one of the best showers in hotel room I've ever had. And my room was well cleaned. read more

Total rip off. Go to Ramada by Wyndham instead. It's a little farther from the beach but waaaaay better, safer, and actually cheaper, too. Here's why: 1. Check-in was delayed by two hours so we had to wait in a different room with our toddler and infant. They said the stove in the room we booked was broken and wouldn't be ready until the evening, but suddenly, 20 minutes later, everything was fine. Hmmm... 2. Dirty and unkempt - Mold growing on the bathroom ceiling; other people's hair clumped on the bathroom ceiling and shower wall; kitchen cupboards full of crumbs; stove knobs and oven were sticky, greasy, and grimy; there was a hole in the bathroom door and a hole in the bedroom wall. Patio furniture was broken, disgusting, and unusable. 3. Broken appliances - Broken bedside lamp, broken safe, plus half the buttons on the remote control didn't work, all of which we reported on our first day. Staff was only able to fix the safe. 4. No amenities - Kitchen was totally empty, not even a sponge, much less anything to cook with. Certain travel sites say there is a pool but there isn't. As I said, patio furniture was broken, disgusting, and unusable. We weren't given a page on the wifi, cable, or local attractions. Literally nothing. Plus, the pics on their website were actually of the expensive restaurant next door, only accessible if you bought something, so there was no way to sit by the marina unless you went to the restaurant. They also played loud music until 11 pm, making it impossible for my kid to fall asleep. 5. Terrible service - Lots of lies from check-in onward. The worst part was that after I complained about the appliances and lack of cleanliness, an employee offered a discount (I didn't ask for this), but when I inquired about it at check out, she said the manager was on vacation and couldn't do anything for a week. When I got angry, suddenly he was in a meeting and would be back in a few hours to call me. Never heard anything. I emailed and called many times after that and received one message via Orbitz saying that the manager would be in touch the following day. Never heard from them again. 6. Bad area - The parking lot was full of drunk men who literally catcalled at me when I got back from the beach with my family. Don't waste your money! read more

Need to watch hotel impossible. The housekeeping thee my magazines and snacks away while I was gone for the day. They should have known I was staying another night?? WTF. Rooms are nothing like the pictures on website. By definition this Motel should not be 3 stars. More like 1 star. It doesn't have any amenities that a 3 star should have, barely a 1 star. Only amenities is a half ass continental breakfast in the tiny lobby. Scary and shady. People up all night. One room had guys in and out all night. Think it was a prostitution room or drug room. Doesn't feel safe. It might be safe but, sure doesn't feel safe. I stayed the 2nd night, although I wanted to leave early, out of curiosity lol. Allthough it seems they are trying to improve, better stay at one of the many nicer places in Rockville center, Lynbrook, or out by the Coliseum. If they would just research a little or charge a higher rate, the shady people will probably leave. Clearly can tell people live here... Omg. All my stuff was taken by the housekeepers. I left for a few hours during the day, I was checked in for 2 nights, all my stuff was taken. Luckily I didn't leave my bag of clothes there. Giving this place one star is generous. DUMP! They have a lot of nerve charging over $100 a night to stay here. Although the rooms were clean (& smelled of a strong cleanser) there is certainly no "ambiance ". One small garbage can (in the bathroom) for the whole room, the door to the vanity & bathroom SCREECHED when opening or closing, the ever-present smell of marijuana each time you stepped out the door ....and someone played basketball in the parking lot until about 11pm, after which someone played loud music for a while. The space under the door was wide enough to let in the constant sound of the street traffic-I finally had to put a pillow down to try and muffle it. It sounded like we were sleeping out on the street. One plus-the shower is nice. Never going there again! read more

The place looked beautiful at first, but we had to switch rooms vey the smoke smell was too strong. After switching to a less smoky smell (not completely gone) We went to wash our hands and the pipe under the sink busted over our feet soaking our shoes and the floor. They came to fix the plumbing while we were still in the room with no mask. I also tried to open a drawer and it fell off while in my hand. Ok, I'll say it, Indians and hotels don't go together. I've stayed at this motel multiple times in the past. It used to be owned by a white family. Back then it was a very nice , clean place. This was about 10 years ago. Maybe 5 years ago, I stayed again,it had changed hands but was still clean enough. Now it's a total dump! It didn't take long for this place to decline. The photos on certain" Booking" websites are totally BS. It's a dump! Smells, dirt, bugs await you. I'm sad that a mid- century gem has been placed in the hands of people that dont give a @$&! . We put one in a cup and showed a woman talking on her cellphone who I thought was a manager. She held the cellphone to her ear while I explained my problem. Then denied they had bed bugs. I told her we just woke up and they were on my girlfriend. She denied they came from the hotel! Said they are checked by the health department. When we asked for certification she didn't acknowledge nor was interested in proving that statement. Just kept denying they had BED BUGS. She even asked if we brought them with us. And asked where we stayed the night before. I was at my house the night before and can tell you 100% i do not have bed bugs at my home. I was offended beyond belief. This woman was VERY unprofessional. No discount or refund was offered to us on the $180 night. I just hope we made all the proper precautions and that we didn't bring the bed bugs home now... I am here for the week for work. To be honest it could be worse but the cons definitely outweighed the pros. I don't recommend you staying here. It was $190 a day for me, way too overpriced for what it was! PROS: -Newly refurbished bathroom -Free fast wifi CONS: -There is NO iron, NO microwave, NO fridge. Two floors with only stairs and NO elevator. -Their bathroom has been newly remodeled and it's quite nice but it's so cramped that it's hard to move around and get in and out of the shower. -They still use keys instead of key cards. There is no available "Do Not Disturb" sign so you'd have to call the front desk to let them know not to come in. -Staff members are a hit or miss. They can either be very accommodating or can brush you off as though you don't matter. -The TV channels vary from day to day. Sometimes I'll have more signal than others so at times a channel will be there and next thing you know it, it's not. I've lost 4 channels since I've been here this week. -Pillows are all different either really flat or barely fluffy. Bed sheets and curtains are worn out and faded. -My entire room was shaking when they were cleaning the room next door! read more

We (my bf and I) stayed here for three nights. We wanted to stay in the Freeport/Jones Beach area. We booked through Travelocity because it was a little less $ than booking through the Inn. It cost us $350 for the three nights. The major turnoffs where that the inn did not have the accommodations that it claimed to online. They say that the room has a flat screen TV, a refrigerator and is modern- none of the above. They are also currently doing renovations in order to make a patio area and i think a bar. So not only was it an eye sore but there were workers and trucks and such. The view outside the Inn would have been beautiful right on the marina but the construction ruined it. Also the checkout time of noon that is on all of the websites and in there info book in your room is not "currently valid"! The real checkout time is currently 11am. The continental breakfast consisted of bagels, butter, OJ and coffee. All set up in a small area. So a line just to toast a bagel. UGH! Cleanliness- 2 out 0f 5 Price- 3 out of 5 Friendliness/helpfullness 3 out of 5 continental breakfast 1 out of 5 false advertising Priceless! oh BTW someone tried to steal our mountain bikes off of the bike rack on my SUV within the first two hours that we were there! Stayed at this hotel because I just need a night away to simply relax. The location was a little hidden / hard to locate . My 1st room was on the second floor next the end and not well lit . As I approached my room I could see that the door was opened . It's 11pm and it was dark . I was reluctant to enter but did and checked to make sure it was empty . I noticed that the secure latch on the door was broken so I went to the desk and requested another room because I felt uneasy in that room . My 2nd room there was no working TV . I notified the front desk and gentleman came to my room to see what the issue was . I explained to him that the connection on the cable box and the TV plug connection/cord were not compatible. I ask to either switch rooms again or to simply bring a cable box from and empty room , to which I got neither , Upon check out I requested at the front desk some type of compensation or discount on the room . I was told that only the manager can assist with my request and that he was not scheduled to come in that morning and they gave me a slip of paper to write down my concerns , request and phone # and stated the manager would give me a call . Well it's been 5 days now and the manager still has not returned my calls , and when I call there it seems I can't reach him , and he still never returns my calls . Disappointed for those reasons . Needles to say my stay wasn't very restful which was all I wanted . An operable TV is a standard amenity. read more

Clean and roomy. Outside entrances if that isn't your thing, turn back now. Gap under the door in room 8 (in case the manager reads these) is probably a 1/4". Exterior entrances aren't the best in the winter anyhow... But I would still fix it. I would come back though, as its a decent price and definitely a decent place to stay for the night. read more

Booked this hotel via hotwire, so I had no idea what I was getting. It's off season, so I didn't expect much from the hotel. I checked in around 9pm. The front desk guy was great. My room was spacious and smelled wonderful. Bed was comfy, although pillows not so much. Newly renovated stall shower was really nice. But make sure you bring toiletries, they give you very little. Place reminds me of a south jersey shore do wop motel (think wildwood). Nice retro feel. Down side, there are like ZERO outlets in the room. And where there are outlets they are nowhere near the bed. Alarm clock on other side of room. Mini fridge, no coffee maker. Overall basic shore motel. I'd come back, but I would probably never pay full price. read more

I have stay here on several occasions. It's kinda the only place to stay in Freeport. The room is kinda small. The only good feature is the updated bathrooms. They have just put refrigerators in their rooms but no microwave. They finally added the flat screen TV but they only have Spanish and Asian channels. The housekeeping staff will just barge in the door without asking and if they do knock they don't understand English and still try to come in. I have had them come in on 2 occasions where I was undressed or laying in the bed. They have vending machines and if you want some ice...take some change cause it's not free. We were just stuck there during the blizzard in December...we were without tv service after our 1st day there and we stayed four days. read more

This hotel is 10 mins away from Jones beach and about 30 mins away from Robert Moses. It was nice, clean and had a pretty good free breakfast (cereal, make your own waffles, etc). The only reason why they didn't receive a higher rating is because there was a broken light bulb in the lamp and my friend almost cut his hand trying to turn it on. We called management and they took care of it right away. The views are pretty good, but i dint think it worth paying extra for a "balcony". Had a really great restaurant attached called the Patio. First of all, what is that smell? Mildew? Ciggs? It's definetly overpriced. The rooms are tiny and don't have the \amenties that are usually in a hotel/motel room (iron/ironboard, coffee maker). The rooms have satelite cable (Direct TV). I recommend not staying during a rainstorm otherwise you won't get a picture on the t.v. Other than the stinch, the room was clean. I had booked 2 rooms months ago and specified that the rooms should be together, but upon check in i was told that they were "full" (lie) and our rooms were separated by 5 or 6 other units. This made getting ready to attend a ready as a group kind of difficult, but fine...whatever. we made do. one room had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke and marijuana and the shower leaked. The second room was not in the slightest bit soundproof and we got to hear the children of the family living below us... yes living... running around bouncing basketballs all night. ITS SO OVERPRICED, plus the renovations were done terribly, so while they are aesthetically pleasing, the beds creaked, the floors creaked and the mirror in the bathroom was useless. We didn't like booking our stay at the Freeport Inn that was going through renovations, was dirty, and probably unhealthy. The first room that we had booked had bugs and flies in the room. We went to the front desk and switch rooms. We wanted/paid for a king sized bed and received 2 full/queen sized beds instead. We were heading to a concert at Jones Beach and had to run because we hit bad Long Island traffic on our way up. So we didn't do a full inspection of the room before leaving. Long story short the ceiling above the shower was rotting away and had a hole in the ceiling. There were paint chips on the floor in the bathroom/shower. This hotel WAS SO SO GROSS. Please DO NOT BOOK! DO NOT BOOK! Not worth it and management was unapologetic. I contacted the Better Business Bureau on them and plan on contact the NY State Inspectors as well. read more

I brought my family up here to stay overnight so that my son could tour Hofstra. Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews. Big mistake. The staff is absolutely HORRIBLE! My wife is a disabled veteran who uses a brace mobility service dog. She has fainting spells and he is trained to support and brace her when she falls. When I went down to the front desk to ask for an extra pillow, not only did the staff member give me a hard time about it, he then proceeded to accuse me of sneaking my "pet" into my room and that he was not allowed on the property. I explained to him that he was a service dog and protected by the ADA. He then proceeded to tell me that he was going to check our room to make sure that there was no damage. He also said we needed to produce paperwork to prove his status as a service dog. That is NOT the law. You can not ask for paperwork or what the dog's training requirements are. As far as the extra pillows; at $130.00 a night I can have as many pillows as I want. What ever happened to taking care of the paying customer? My first and LAST time staying at this dump. The only saving grace of this place is the awesome Mexican restaurant next door. Next time I travel, I'll just stay at the Marriott. read more

I'm giving this place a 1 for location/convenience. Otherwise, it would get a 1/2 star. Front desk guy at check in was extremely incompetent at checking my friends and I into our rooms. Couldn't find my friend's check-in and instead of going through possibilities of giving us a walk-in reservation, dismissed us for the other customers in line. Maid came into our room on the second day there, didn't clean, but took only our garbage and after doing so, locked us out so our key fab wouldn't work. Overheard that we weren't the only ones this happened to. "No smoking" signs posted everywhere, yet our room reeked of cigarettes, along with my friend's. I even found cigarette holes in the comforter. TV feels like I'm watching it from 2002. The shower is beautifully renovated and we were so excited to see it came with jets on the wall, but all of the jets were broken. Other than that, there is a very cute Mexican restaurant right next door that I highly recommend for food and service. My bf and I stayed here over the weekend to experience the nautical mile. I must say this hotel is great ONLY because it is relatively close to everything. It had as strong musty smoke smell when we first walked in along with the fact that the bathtub kept stopping up which was beyond gross to me. The vending machines were not working so that was also a negative. We didn't wake up in time for the continental breakfast so I cannot comment on that. We did ask the lady at the front desk if we could check out at 12:00pm instead of the 11:00am check out and she outright said nope, I need everyone out on time! Firstly, the front desk receptionist was incredibly rude and talked down us. She gave us an attitude and told us that we were awful at grade school math. After rolling her eyes at us a couple times, She gave us room 41. We were told which direction to go in, but not fully explained. Upon finding a desolate looking staircase, we stumbled upon room 41. The second we walked through the door, the pungent odor of kitty litter could not go unnoticed. We came into the room and saw stains everywhere, brown pillowcases. Mildew all over the shower. I felt that just being in that room we needed a shower. It was so unbearable that we couldn't spend the night and went to check out. The guy working the desk at night was not authorized to give us a refund, he was very apologetic about our experience. He told us to call back in the morning. When I called in the morning- the same woman from the day before answered. No apologies, no remorse, not asking what went wrong just being her ignorant rude self that we experienced the day before and told us we needed to call back on Wednesday to speak with the manager and nothing could happen until then. I've stayed at many hotels, and I can truly say this was the worst experience of my life. If Yelp let me, I wouldn't even give it one circle- but I had to in order to submit this review. read more

I grew up in Freeport and came back to visit some friends. The Freeport Motor Inn is better than ever with refurbished rooms and a beautiful patio to watch the boats go by. I was there with my daughter and infant grandson and the staff could not have been more accommodating. I will be looking forward to staying there again this summer. read more

Stayed here recently for a high school reunion. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Location was convenient to the reunion and to the Nautical Mile. Excellent view of the waterfront. Breakfast was included with each night's stay, and free wi-Fi was included. Best place in Freeport, and also convenient to Jones Beach and other local beaches. We got there at 1pm and guy in lobby wanted to charge is extra for checking in early. It was obvious hotel was empty and rooms were ready. Then furniture old and broken in rooms. We ended up going to store to buy disenfective to Clorox whole room. We would have left but no other options nearby. Then stay even got worse. Toilet got clogged since we got there and asked for plunger from same guy at reception area and all he said was housekeeping has left and no one to help. What a joke.
