I came to walk around this plaza yesterday. To my surprise, there were many businesses that had closed as there were some retail spaces available. I went to visit Chai Shai and got a mango lassi and Nutella bun. Then I went to Ross to check out some shoes. After that, drove to Hallmark front entrance as the back entrance of the store was closed. The Fremont Hub definitely has changed quite a bit since the last time that I had came. This plaza is more like running errands, with decent restaurants to eat at. Trader Joe's, Safeway, and Target are lifesavers for groceries. PetSmart for pet supplies. Aura Wellness Studio for pilates and meditation sessions. Old Navy, Marshalls, Lane Bryant, and Ross for clothing on a budget. Walgreens for pharmacy. Daiso and Staples for school and office supplies. The food here isn't good, so I'd rather cook at home or eat somewhere else. The backside of Target remains empty since they took out Party City, and it's kind of a shady area. There are lots of parking spaces near Walgreens, UPS, and Marshalls. read more

Fremont Hub is known for having great shopping selections especially for Fremont locals. I usually come here to go to Half Price Books, Target, and GameStop. Parking is very big and there are plentiful of parking spaces if you were to park further. They also have eateries, but based on what the shopping center has, it's mainly for shopping things. read more

It's a decent place that hosts most of your basic retail stores and what you need to survive such as Target, Safeway, Staples, Daiso, Ross, and etc. There are a ton of restaurants around here too but not much to do. It's nice though because you can find hidden gems on places to eat around here, but if you're hanging out with friends you're most likely going to want to go someplace else for some activities to do. I don't mind though and enjoy the area as I like to just window-shop in general at Daiso or go to Target. Goodwill is also nearby which is a plus for me. Definitely a place that is suited for a more chill and laidback hangout. Most of the time, people keep to themselves but there are moments where you still need to be cautious. Especially at night. I was headed to a restaurant one night at the hub and when I got out of my car, I briefly noticed across the parking lot was a woman in her car with a man. They had their light turned on and was just sitting in their car with their doors open. They had parked all the way by themselves from the other cars and the woman apparently didn't like my brief eye contact and started yelling at me that she was going to hit me. Luckily nothing escalated and I just kept walking to my destination unbothered. But do keep cautious as you should in any public setting. Can never be too comfortable. Most of the security at the hub I notice is by Target. So I can't say for sure how safe the hub really is at night. Other than that, the hub is visually decent. Nothing strikes it out of the ordinary. Just your typical spot to get your goods and then head home. read more

The biggest shopping destination in Fremont. So many shopping and eatery options. Target, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS, Ross, Safeway, Michaels, Trader Joe's, PetSmart, Party City to name a few business around. There are some really good dine in options and bakeries as well. Great place to hang out with family and friends. It's a very vast shopping hub. It's not a mall unlike the other shopping centers. Shops are located in 6-7 different buildings. You can walk around or drive from one place to another, if not near by. Plenty of parking all the time. But do not keep your valuables in the car while shopping here. I have been here a few times and it is always understocked and understaffed. A lot of bare space and items on the floor. I know they might be in need of more support, but maybe if they were a little more attentive and offering to assist customers it would make it a bit more pleasant. There is no greeting as your come in, no thank you, and come again as you leave. It is sad because there are fewer places to go for party supplies and it does not make us want to come back here. read more

The hub pretty much houses all of the basic retail stores you'll need to survive: Target, Safeway, Trader Joe's. Then there's Petco For your beloved pooch (or cat). Then, the other shops that I personally can't live without like Ross, Marshalls and Bed Bath & Beyond and Half-priced Books (to quench the thirst for literary entertainment). I've lived in Fremont since I was 10 years old. This place has gone through so many changes, owners and stores. It's still a good pit stop for something you need, but no great stores the little ones need to move out and more boxed stores need to come in and stay. Ulta is a trashed location, Target is ok, and Trader Joe's it's okay. The location just needs an overhaul with modern changes. I work right across Fremont Hub so I come here about twice a week usually for lunch. There is Viet Bistro House, Popeye Chicken, Tata TeaHouse, Chili's and King Noodle. There is also a Target, Party City, and Trader Joe's. Parking is always plentiful except around Trader Joe's on the weekends. On weekdays, this place is not very busy at all. Many business spaces are empty and awaiting a new tenant like the Elephant Bar which has been closed for quite some time now. There are a number of homeless people hanging around here but they are not aggressive. On the south side across Walnut, although not part of Fremont Hub, there are more places to eat like Taj-e-Chaat, Eric's Deli, Panda Express, Peacock Indian, Mountain Mike's, and Classic 50's Diner. read more

I only go to this plaza for he following stores: sometimes Target, Marshalls, Trader Joes, Half Price Book Store, Party City and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Other than that this plaza is OK. Although I have heard that there has been alot of happenings here such as robbery and also that one incident in Party City sometime last year I think. Plenty of places to shop and eat. Fremont Hub is a pretty famous spot in Fremont and overall it pretty much meets most of my shopping needs. There are plenty of shops, but it's not a mall per say. You have to drive around to get to locations, but there are a variety of shops. Food, , clothing shops, the works. Gosh..what happened to Fremont Hub? I do like the fact that you get a Ross, Marshalls, Target and a Trader Joes all in one place. But it's so deserted now and sad like many of the malls in the area. I really love the new changes and remodeling that The Hub has underwent over the years. The Hub is really becoming one of the many "outdoor shopping centers" that are super popular throughout the Bay. Here you will stores like (a huge) Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Ross and Ulta. I've never had an issue with parking, so that's another reason I keep coming here to shop. read more

Pretty good spot because of the variety of stores! There's a Ross, Marshalls, Daiso, Target, Ulta, and more! There's plenty of parking around the Hub. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't as busy as I was expecting it to be. The only downside is that a lot of the shops only have entrances to the store on the outskirts of the hub rather than from both the outside and the middle of the hub. I used to love the Hub as I call it. When it had Home Express, Marie Callender's, that Chinese Buffet place, GCC Hub 8, Montgomery Ward's, Borders, Zany Brainy, Tower Records, Hunan Palace, Macfarlane's and I go on and on. It has lost the charm that it once had in the late 80's, 90's and early 2000's. Some of it is still vacant. The GCC Hub 8 has been torn down. Tower Records, Borders, Montgomery Ward's, Home Express, and Zany Brainy went bankrupt. Marie Callender's was shut down by the county for being too dirty. Hunan Palace lost business due to the recession and closed. So did Macfarlane's. And Book Mark, which I left out in the paragraph above. I will say that there is a Target, Trader's Joe, Half Price Books, and Safeway. And with the new Capitol Ave extension from Paseo Padre to the center opening up next month. Can't wait for that to open up as it is necessary as both Mowry and Walnut avenues can easily be filled with cars going into either shopping centers or lesser known streets. read more

So many options and so much variety in one place!! Always a fun atmosphere with a bit of shopping adventure.

I'm just not that into this place. It definitely has the potential to be a nice, quaint town center type plaza, but it doesn't measure up. Everything is too separated, and there's empty shops around. The stores seem a bit random and disunited, I rarely see anyone walking around. There was actually a sustainability project focused for this area, with solutions to improve it and make it more people/family/being able to hang out with friends here friendly. That being said, this space of land is in a good location (with another little plaza nearby and a bank across the street), so it just needs to be renovated. Maybe it would help if they put a theatre in here, or an ever popular frozen yogurt store, but the only place I really go to is Borders. Even that Borders is one story and not as popular, since the first time I moved here no one knew one existed in Fremont, people went to the one in Union City instead. The place has potential, it just needs some TLC to get it going. read more

I remember Fremont Hub being more of a destination shopping spot on the weekend when I was a child. There was a Border's here, and a Barnes and Noble (now Sprout's)across the street. Trader Joe,, Target, and Safeway are good stores. Capitol Ave. is open to Fremont Hub from Paseo Padre. The street was dedicated on Oct. 16, 2015 by the Mayor and City Council. It seems painfully congested in portions of the driveways in the Fremont Hub; consequently I would often prefer to park along Capitol Avenue and walk to Fremont Hub and other nearby businesses. Exquisite artistic mosaics all along the sidewalk wall on the north side of Capitol Ave. leading to the Fremont Hub will I predict become a visitor attraction. Click below on all photos to sample those mosaics.. Trees have been planted and there are park benches. A very scenic view all the way to Niles Canyon occurs during late afternoon. During the dedication of the street on Oct. 16, the Mayor said there will be EV chargers along Capitol Avenue by the end of the year. A second phase of street renovation is taking place between State St. and Paseo Padre for announced completion by summer 2016. There was a grant of at least $5.6 million from Alameda Co. Transportation. That sounds like a lot of money, but they had to tear down a 3-story building. It will help the surrounding businesses, improve traffic flow, and will upgrade the Fremont downtown area. On State St. there is a sign stating that apartments and retail will be built into the long ago Nob Hill site on the south side of this new Capitol Avenue. read more

This past year, I've fallen in love with Fremont and all the stores and shops included. I'm more of a Milpitas/San Jose native, so discovering a new city map and layout is always tricky during the beginning. What I will say, is if I had to choose between the Hub and Pacific Commons, I'd definitely focus on food with Pacific Commons, and the Hub for a leisure day out. The Fremont Hub is a large shopping center consisting mostly of clothes, little Knick knack shops, staples, a target , and even a Nothing Bundt Cakes! The vibe the hub gives off is very care free and aimless since everything feels less like an errand in this parking lot, and more like a day out or date. Walking along the pathway, there's easily something to do or find to do, while Pacific Commons is a myriad of parking lots to navigate. I will say, Pacific Commons has the Hub beat for food options. My favorite gem in the Hub is Half priced Books which brings out my inner bookworm, especially since everything is so reasonably priced! You're welcome to sell books, music , and video games and receive cash for them at this location too! It's an amazing form of recycling and gives us a chance to make better use of good books that are gently to moderately used. The Nothing Bundt Cakes is also my second weakness, but if you've been there, I bet you couldn't blame me! read more

The good ol' beloved Fremont Hub. While it seems to have been replaced by the new cool hang-out spot Sno-Crave, the hub still serves its purpose of being accessible and for me personally, takes me back to my childhood. It has been around for a long time, and it has very cute stores, and I love just getting ColdStone and walking around the stores on a warm day. If I want to look at furniture, hello Pier 1 Imports, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, etc. If I want to look at clothes, hello Styles 4 Less, Target, Ross, Marshalls. If I want to get art supplies, hello Michaels!! If I need food, hello Subway, Tacobell, Trader Joes', Safeway, Ohana, etc. So this is just a great chill spot without as much of a crowd as Pacific Commons! read more

I remember when the Hub was THE place to be. When you would walk from Montgomery Ward down to the other side, stopping by McFarlane's for some ice cream. Back when they had a ton of shops on the inside that people actually walked through to see. Back when they would have those mildly creepy Christmas boxes with mobile Elves and fake snow. The new Hub has bigger name shops on the outside and a few smaller ones as well. It has a huge variety and has turned into a one stop shop. Its a great place to go to for all of your needs, whether it be Micheal's, Marshall's, Target or Borders. Aside from the shops they have tons of places to eat.
