We gave this business a try and on the first delivery for a large lunch event with our C-Suite team, they were 50 minutes late. I was very clear in setting expectations for all food to be set-up by 11:45am for a 12:00pm lunch and the driver arrived at at 12:20pm and all was set up by 12:30pm. Then to add more disappointment, they did not bring our $120 fruit platter and when I emailed to notify them and request a refund they refused to respond and left me a voicemail stating that the driver "insisted" he brought it. He indeed did not. Lastly, nothing was labeled, no croutons for the salad, and the presentation was Panera level at best. If you need a caterer you can trust, this may not be the company to use. We ordered here for our Department Holiday Party today 12/16/2022 . BBQ to be individually boxed , to be delivered at 10:30 am , Party to start at 11:00am. We called at 9:00 and was told the order will be ready . At 10:45 no delivery !! Called multiple times but no one would pick up the phone , finally used different phone to call and someone pick up right away , was told on hold and was told again , food should be ready soon. Our management team at work decided they wanted to show us their appreciation for our hard work by catering food from The French Quarter. Free food that's not from the cafeteria usually makes everyone happy. Go management! They decided to cater a build it yourself baked potato bar. The potatoes were all pretty big and surprisingly, they stayed hot for quite some time. It came with all the sides you would expect for a baked potato such as butter, sour cream, cheese, and green onions. We also had BBQ chopped beef or chicken to go in it as well. The BBQ was OK. It was a little more saucy than meaty. We also had a side salad which looked really good, but I didn't want to waste precious space in my belly for salad. The cookies for dessert were halfway good. I want to say one cookie was some sort of coconut and the other was either a sugar cookie or peanut butter. I grabbed the coconut cookie and it was pretty hard and did not taste very fresh. Overall, I feel like The French Corner would be a place I would consider to cater again, just not so much the baked potato bar. read more

My experience with French Kitchen (FC) was overly positive this time around. First I was helped by Amanda who helped me understand which items would work best for my breakfast event. She said my order would be ready at 7AM today, and it was. When I picked up my order at 7 I was warmly greeted by the owner George. I was totally impressed by his customer service and attention to me. It was totally unexpected. We shared thoughts about work and he even offered me a cup of hot and fresh coffee, while I waited for them to warm my order up. I wasn't immediately greeted but when I walked up to the counter, I was greeted and seated. My server was good. I didn't refill my water but it was cool because I was ready to leave and to go back to work. He accidentally charged me for an iced tea but corrected it before he handed me my ticket. Don't get the cookies unless they just came out of the oven. This place use to be housed in my work building and my co-workers are always talking it up. So we stopped in on Friday for lunch and the whole place confuses me. I did the 3 items and got - fried shrimp, house salad and a rice mix. It was all good but slightly overpriced. My second time coming here was great, I noticed something about the vibe of the place as well. After traveling to Europe I realize this place has a European type of vibe, something we're not use to in America. It's a come as you go, ask for something when you need it, if you don't need anything you won't be bothered. I ordered 3 danishes and a coffee, the coffee was good, but the danishes were yet again delightfully appetizing. I stayed here for about an hour and half and got a lot of work done, definitely my go to place for when I want to get out of the house and do some work. I'm not a sandwich person. At all. So when I finish a whole sandwich you know that I'm either starving or that it is really, really well made. It was both in the case of the delicious sandwich provided to our conference from The French Corner. When I saw all the boxes lined up, I was happy to see that they were categorizing them by types of sandwiches and even provided placards for easy perusal. The famous avocado and brie sandwich was gone before I even got to the table, but I heard great things about it. I ended up with a ham and cheese sandwich that sounds boring but was delicious. The bread was nice and soft, without getting mushy. They use Zapps chips, which is great (I'm all about the artisan stuff, even if I was so full that I only had a few out of my entire bag). It seems silly to rave about plain ol' sandwich so much, but conference food tends to be awful and I was excited to have something that didn't taste like cardboard. I used this establishment for catering even after I had heard from several medical center reps that they had underperformed for them before. They did an adequate job. When I called, the woman who answered the phone took my order....3 times.....Then asked for my name. Once given, she asked if I would like the tab to be added to my account or to pay on arrival. I asked the account out of curiosity and yeah,....I have a semi unique last name but the account she wanted to add it to was a mans name.......My voice may be have a slight drawl, but it is not deep. I have had French Corner's boxed lunches a couple times before, which are generally not great, but I thought I would give them a try in restaurant. So, basically their restaurant is really weird. I showed up on the tail end of a Friday lunch (around 1:30 p.m.) and the place was practically empty save for a few of employees eating their lunches in front of the TV and one other couple who was just finishing up. It was very dark inside and there was no real indication of whether this was a bistro style or a sit-down-and-order-with-a-waitress restaurant. Nearly every single table was stacked high with boxed lunches that were being prepped for a later delivery, which meant there were really only two open tables where we could sit. They both happened to be right next to the restrooms and just underneath a large TV. Talk about lack of ambiance. I was with my grandmother so it didn't really matter, but I found it odd nonetheless. I requested an egg salad sandwich which wasn't on the menu despite the fact that in the buffet line there was a huge bowl of egg salad and the menu offered both chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches for sale. Okay, whatever. The manager (I assume he was the manager) was very nice and helpful and offered to make me one right up and told the cashier to charge me for a chicken salad sandwich, as if he was doing me a huge favor. My grandmother ordered a 3-salad plate and selected egg salad, chicken salad & a cucumber/tomato salad. The manager plopped 3 large scoops onto her plate and I watched as all three items started to slide into each other on her plate - yuck. The vinegarette dressing went straight into her eggs, which made the dish really watery. She did not complain but if this was my plate I would be pretty annoyed. Anyway, all of the food was forgettable. My sandwich bread tasted day old and a bit dry, and my egg salad was too runny and lacking seasoning. Granny agreed and we feverishly salted and peppered our dishes. My Zapp's Spicy Cajun Crawtators chips were the highlight of my meal, and they weren't even prepared by French Corner. In general, I was really hoping for something more along the lines of a La Madeline, but unfortunately it did not compare. In all, bland, tasteless food and lack of ambiance, and I don't think I will be returning. read more

For a minute there I thought this place was a box lunch spot with a whirlwind of Tuna Salad, Roast Beef and Ham sandwiches. That was OK though...if it was free it was for me. Funny thing about the catering menu...although this place was called "The French Corner" there was not a section distinctly French/European in name. There was "Traditional American","Central/South American", and a lumped together "Tropical Island, Asian and Mediterranean" which is not a fusion section, promise. It was not until I was in the Medical Center area looking for a place to eat that I saw the place. Figured why not? Perhaps my limited experiences with them made me pleasantly surprised. Apart from the usual sandwiches there was a great "Three Salad Lunch" special with 6 different types of salads to choose from. Moving on there were a number of entrees that are rotated out (Which I recognize as similar to the catering menu). French Corner does put a lot of care into their ingredients. The flavor of the marinates, rubs and other sauces really shows that. Favorite entrees thus far? They include: - Grilled Chicken with Wild Mushroom Sauce - Salmon Pontchartrain - Homemade Meatloaf - Beef Brisket (I do realize there are better places but here its a safe bet) Catering? They are really great. Box lunch sandwiches are really well portioned (though I would ask for extra condiments like mayo to moisten the bread). Sit down restaurant? They are fantastic, pleasant and competitively priced. I went during lunchtime, and the restaurant wasn't terribly busy. There were three people in front of me, and there was also a party of 30 arriving shortly after me. I would suggest going during lunch either on the early or late side of the lunch hour. I ordered an avocado and brie sandwich (on a baguette) with French fries. It was delicious! I think I will attempt to make this at home and add bacon. So far, the restaurant deserves four stars. However, I docked a star for the ordering process. The guy taking orders didn't understand English well. The lady in front of me finally said, "I want a salad with chicken on top!" after he didn't understand the concept of a grilled chicken salad. The same guy yelled out what's ready as he walks around all the tables, which is how you get your order after paying. He kept yelling, "grilled cheese sandwich!" Finally, he came to me and asked, "What was your order?" I replied, "an avocado and brie sandwich." He then put the plate in front of me with a loud thud without explanation or apology. Even my coworker was surprised. My coworker kept saying, "This place is weird," but was unable to explain why. Love coming here after the lunch rush 1 pm. The food is always fresh and never disappointed. The staff is excellent and plenty of parking. My favorite is large shrimp salad but just had the Teriyaki beef and it was excellent. I love how the staff always does their best to take care of you even when they are busy! Review is for catered services. Fruit platter was excellent. Juicy, sweet fruit that makes you wonder "why can't I get this kind of fruit at Kroger?" Breakfast tacos are loaded with tons of stuff like peppers, onions, and cilantro. Their tortillas are pretty weak. Not sure you should be ordering breakfast tacos from a French place. This was a truly negative experience and we never even made it to the eating part. We were seated and then found out they did not have half of the things on their menu. My 11 year old niece could not find anything she wanted and the waiter pretty much shoved the French toast down her throat. Then, we asked about the "special of the day" as instructed on the menu and were given the very smart retort of "the whole menu is the special". The waiter then continued to repeat our order back wrong(he didn't write any of it down). When I informed him we didn't order the Ceaser chicken wrap, but a zesty chicken wrap; he told me they were almost the same thing. Lastly, when I immediately told him not to put in our order because they didn't have half the menu and he could not seem to repeat the order back correctly; he argued with me and did not just want to let me pay for the drinks. A pleasant place, that seems to have multiple ordering formats, a least that's my impression from dining and reading prior reviews. A couple days ago I noticed the place driving through, so I figured why not stop. A colleague and I wanted coffee as it was early, and were seated to order. I then noticed a mini cafeteria set-up that must be used mostly for lunch dinner when there are more customers? The breakfast menu selections were varied and prices ok it seems. I tried a quiche with my coffee, which was tasty yet a little smaller than I'd expected, and not the generous traditional 'slice' of quiche for an entree. The coffee was good btw. Overall, the service was ok considering a small number of patrons at the time, and the interior is comfortable and well kept. I guess I need to come back for lunch and see how they rate. read more

The food is here is always fresh and tasty. I usually get their shrimp salad, that is so good. Their tuna and tortilla soup is also great. The young lady at the register often gets on my nerves due to the food preparers placing items in a large container when you have specified small. The preparers have often told her that they may be out of the small containers, thus they use the larger one. While I understand her point of view from a business standpoint, this is not my issue. She also wants you to open your to go container, which brings my blood pressure to a simmer. Maybe they should write the orders on paper and then have patrons give the written order to the cashier. The decor here is nice, and it definitely reminds me of an old-fashioned american tavern. Honestly, the catered food we got was just alright. It satisfied my hungry stomach and I. Just the other day, after we had finished eating and had left the restaurant, we did some exploring and when we returned, the restaurant was closed. All lights were off, no one there, only George, the owner. He was out front locking up. When I walked up to the door before realizing it was closed, to use the restroom, I quickly turned and walked away, since it was closed... George quickly caught my attention and asked what I needed! He was SO INCREDIBLY KIND! He unlocked the door and allowed me to go use the restroom. He could have easily gone home and not acknowledged my need, but instead he took time away from his time off to kindly help me! He was so friendly and welcoming. Not only is the food at French Corner amazing, but the atmosphere and the friendly and welcoming service is what makes this place so great! The French Corner will ALWAYS have my business!
