Great wine bar in D4. Went there on a cold night and it was a bit chilly in there. A fireplace would make this place perfect for me :-) Great ambience, nice selection of wine, a really nice menu and good service. I loved browsing the shop to pick our wine that we drank on the night. Would happily come back here any day. My only criticism was the lack of a full wine list and a smaller selection of older wines.

Honest, elegant and beautiful, The French Paradox has become a chief delight among les gourmands au Ballsbridge. Come by around 12 for their lunch menu -think buttery quiches served hot with leaves and accompanied by a coffee - which leaves one satisfied and with just enough time to hit the post office before heading back to work. Arrive on a chilly autumn afternoon and your waiter will furnish a cozy lap blanket to keep you warm as you sip and chat and watch the people go by. Of course, what keeps feet pointed to The French Paradox's front door after the luncher leave are those incredible wines -racks upon racks (and stacks on the floor) of expertly chosen vintages, which patroness Tanya will expound on in loving detail at the many wine tastings and workshops offered in their tasting room. Make the effort, no.. make the pilgrimage. And then tell everyone you know about that great French place you found.

There is One of my favorite place! Stuffs is very gently, foods is delicious, and of course wine is good :) Friday is busy, so I think you should make a reservation.

    Charcuterie with anchovies and tapenade!

HIGH CLASS! Great service with a waiter who works with you to fine the best wine for your budget. We went with a group of 7, and ordered a few bottles of wine and shared plates of foie gras, pate, charcuterie, Camembert fondue and more. It was so delicious - this is coming from someone who doesn't love duck/pate/foie gras. The bar space is so cozy and would be great for a date night. It's casual yet has an air of fancy! I'd highly recommend! Tip: the marmalade that comes on the duck plate is perfect with the Camembert and baguette!

There's a fireplace and big comfy chairs for you to enjoy while you sip some amazing wine. The outdoor seating area is nice too, even in winter, they have lots of heaters and blankets. I think one of the best parts is being able to choose your wine upstairs, and bring it with your downstairs to the Cavern. Sometimes a wine list with nothing but the vineyard name and country isn't enough to help you choose, so having the entire shop upstairs at your disposal is the absolute best. Take your time browsing, then head downstairs for a cozy seat and some tasty food. If you know what's good for you, you'll have the bacon jam and goats cheese bread board! It's our go-to when we're having a bottle of red wine, and it's just incredible. Staff are very nice and attentive, service is quick even when the place is busy. Always very happy with everything we have here, and are always anxious to come back. Perfect for a chill night out with friends, or a date night. Any weekend that includes the Cavern is sure it be a great one!

Oh god, it's just great!…read more As another reviewer put it, I want so dearly to keep this place a secret and keep it all to myself but I just can't. This spot is a true gem to have popped up on Baggot Street and boy am I glad I just moved into the area, in fact 1 min walk (whoop). Firmly my favourite place to go for a drink on Baggot Street, this place has a great vibe to it making it a super cool and comfy place to hang out with the hubby and/or even round up the mates for an evening of wine and chit-chat! They sell wines, teas and coffees only but they offer a great BYO from Baggot Street Wines above, just hold onto your receipt and pop on down, grab a seat and with corkage for €5 per bottle of wine or beers at €1, you get fresh glasses, wine coolers as needed and nibbles on your table. Great value... Plus if past 10pm and the off license is closed, you are welcome to order from their menu with a great selection of wines by the glass and the bottles being great value too! The food menu offers very casual dining with cheese and meat plates being most popular , there are other options, e.g. oysters plus they run daily specials so they are also worth a look :-) Had the mixed cheese and meat board last night and it was fantastic, served with breads to the side which was unexpected! Everything on the plate was really top notch and super filling, at €20 it was a steal! I had their sweet treat which was called Delish Melish Trio, they had me at the name... And I firmly fell in love on tasting it! Great work guys, really love this place and it will feature with me regularly. They have live music on Fri/Sat evenings but even without, their playlists are really fitting for this place, nice chilled out relaxing, mellow music... Shazam'd a few to get onto my playlists at home ;-) There is indoor seating, mixture of tables or sofa's to pick from and outdoors, the same... A selection of tables plus some cosy sofa's plus with cushions and throws on offer, you can really get as cosy as in this little beaut.

Way more chill than anything in the Temple Bar area. Food is served late so this is a great spot close to Trinity College. The atmosphere is laid back, the location is spacious, and the interior is super trendy - full of art and good vibes. They have a pool room and TVs to catch the latest game. The portions are large and reasonably priced - we shared everything. I'm super picky when it comes to fish so its not in my nature to order it, but since he wanted to try it, I gave in... turns out the seafood chowder was one of my faves. So much flavor!!! The goat cheese salad was the perfect accompaniment, and we couldn't leave without trying the curry fries. Now on to the cocktails...they have a great happy hour and the mixologist definitely knows how to shake up the perfect drink. I love when you can tell a bartender your favorite flavors and they mix you a custom libation! The entire staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this spot and will gladly return next time I'm in Dublin.

We made reservations online at the bistro--they have three areas a the bistro is laid back and bustling. The wine bar and terrace also have food and seem very low vibe and chill, a little more relaxed than the bistro if you want something cozy. The main restaurant, the bistro, was bustling and busy, with waitstaff constantly circulating to take orders and deliver food and drinks; if we needed something we didn't have to wait for our particular server to order or request anything. The atmosphere ranged from casual to business casual, so we didn't feel like we were underdressed. The menu is varied so there really is something for everybody! Roasted chicken, fish, steak, fire roasted vegetable dish, in addition to either a set course option or à la carte. I went with the 3 course set, which gave me a lot of options for the starter, main, and dessert. We both ordered the Irish Hereford steaks, which were cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious, and excellent ambience. Definitely a good plan to reserve a spot, it was super busy! Great way to end our day! Visiting in the height of lunch crowds, I was amazed they could squeeze me in without a reservation, and I ended up packed tightly among the locals. As I've been on a food-fest since touching down in this fair land, I determined to "go light" in preparation for much indulging later. This state of affairs eventually led me to the wonderful Caesar, with chicken added. It was lovely and tasty, etc. I was of course full of order envy seeing all the delightful choices around me: lots of shrimp, today's roast rib special, and myriad sandwiches. Lunch dessert is real, and it thrives here. Add that to reasons why my timing was off in this visit, should I intend not to gain pounds and pounds with gelato, cakes, etc. So I'll enjoy my Americano, made decadent with the added milk, and dream of calories. I'll return for another lunch and perhaps if I'm lucky, dinner.
