I ordered the whole belly clams hoping that i could recreate my love of fried clams that i had when I grew up in Boston. What I got cannot even be considered edible clams or even those used to bait a hook. I have made fried clams before when I was able to order them from a company in Ipswich before the pandemic so i know how to do it. But there wasn't even anything to fry there; just little tips of something or other. I tried anyway but ended up throwing them out. I called the company today and spoke to a guy who was not only unhelpful but down right rude; saying that i didn't know how to fry them and that there was nothing he would do about it. I asked if they had a guarantee of satisfaction and he said for what? I said for sending me inferior products. He just hung up on me. I can't wait until I travel to Boston next next month and have some real fried clams at the Clam Box in Ipswich. Ordered whole belly clams for a New England style clam the dinner. The clams were unbelievably good! Not only was the product excellent but also the company's customer service was top notch. The clams shipped from Massachusetts on the way to Scottsdale AZ but FedEx has some troubles with weather and the delivery was delayed. I emailed after hours and the company responded that they were on top of the situation and would get FedEx to deliver on the weekend. I got a call on Saturday that the clams from the company that the clams were on the truck heading to our place. We appreciated that they went to such efforts at night and on the weekend to make our dinner a success. Also FYI the packaging was so good that the clams were still frozen on a day late delivery most of the way across the country. So they really do know how to get their product to you. read more

Terrible Customer service. Ordered some very time sensitve items ten days in advance and was told the day before the product arrived that they weren't going to be able to deliver. I told the man that it's terrible customer service to be calling me the day before it's supposed to arrive that they can't ship. The company rep then tried to flip the script and tell me that I obviously know nothing about how the product is harvested. He went on to say that they had five consecutive days of 95 degree weather (lie) and that the product would die immediately. I argued that he didn't understand the harvesting process (or customer service) because if they had a foreseen problem, they should have called me well in advance to make different arangements. A really bad and stressful experience. Luckily one of their competitors was able to bail me out of the bad situation I was put in due to lack of planning and service on the part of The Fresh Lobster Company. read more

Ordered fresh UNI to be shipped to Illinois for Fathers Day on Tuesday. We got a call and email back that day from "Ted" saying they couldn't ship our order until Thursday due to product not coming in until then. Wednesday we get a message from Ted again saying "no product until next week! Since our card was charged on Tuesday for a delivery for Fathers Day, I called Ted. Ted interrupted me to tell me the same excuse he had emailed and left a message about twice, and when I asked him why charge a card then if you have no product to sell.... he told me I "wasn't listening". I said to charge it back on my card, he said "I'll do it this afternoon" and hung up. No apologies, no attempt to offer another product or solution. So in short.. horrible Customer Service. Rude Ted taking no responsibility for lying to a customer twice, and charging a credit card for product that is not "in hand". Thank you for running us out of time to send our Dad his favorite fish for Fathers Day. ZERO STARS TED!! You guys are the worst! read more

If you plan on ordering online in good weather and do not have to speak to anyone, I can't honestly say that the seafood is good or bad, as my parents Christmas present had to be put out with the trash on arrival. So this is not a review of the product. After a weather delay in the Boston area, a good call by them, they went ahead and shipped product on Monday night (1/6) right into the mouth of a blizzard impacting the entire midwest and east coast, most airports either closed, cancelled flights, or delays. Needless to say, the product then began to sit in various FedEx terminals and or trucks for the next 4 1/2 days. Once the product arrived, the outer box was soaked, inside and out. The littleneck clams were not in their foam wrap, they had spilled all over the container and juice was everywhere. The chowder was now at least 5 days old. So I believe fault lies with not paying attention to the area they are shipping into. I was told it was my fault, that they rely on the common sense of their customers to watch the weather. This blizzard was national news! As was airport closures and cancellations and FedEx/Ups delays. But somehow they denied any responsibility whatsoever in following through with their guarantee of next day fresh seafood. The sales guy in his communication to myself and my parents (recipients of product) was short, arrogant, and belittling. In other words, it's your responsibility to tell them when it's ok to ship, because apparently they don't have TV's , radios, etc. in Gloucester to see major storms and cancellations brewing. If I were their shipping dept mgr, I would simply check each mornings shipment destinations to make sure my product would arrive safely and promptly. I''m out a hundred bucks. And was informed it's my fault, as I should have more common sense.. WOW!! read more

Our first time to order from this company and we are very impressed. My wife and I are from R.I. and know seafood from up north (we live here down south for awhile now). Our box came 8 hrs earlier than had stated yesterday. We ordered rock crabs, steamers and clam chowder. We purchased our lobsters locally. We were impressed at the quality of the crabs and steamers!!! They were beautiful live crabs and no blemishes. The steamers were large, shells looked white and healthy. The clam chowder were still frozen. The way they were wrapped and packaged inside the box was like "a parent lovingly tucking their child in". That's the only way we can describe it. Great job Ted to you and your team! Nice customer service as well when Ted called us to explain and gave us some pointers. Thank you for making our 45th wedding anniversary special!
