Located in a fish market Order at the counter on your right and it's ready in about 10 minutes. Seafood counter is separate. A couple of outdoor tables with umbrellas but people also eat in their car since it's a quick bite. Came here upon getting off the commuter rail station at Gloucester. It's a quick walk and looked cute. However the food options are kind of limited. They only have three tables between their front entrance and few parking spots. Most people seem to come here to buy seafood to bring home rather than eat on the spot. We ordered: fish and chips, lobster roll, and clam chowder. Fish and chips is the highlight here. The batter is so airy and light and crunchy. The fish is juicy and soft and flaky. It's not the most flavorful fish but the texture makes up for it. The lobster roll wasn't as exciting. Meat was a bit rough and had shell bits inside. Bread was a bit dry too. read more

Found this via Yelp. It was one of the few locations open for business during lunch. It is a small shop with many options where you order at the counter and grab a seat outdoors. Worth the drive to Gloucester. Vacationing from Northern Virginia and had to venture to Turner's Seafood Market. The fish and chips are the best that I personally have ever come across. Also ordered some oysters. They usually don't shuck them for you, but we paid a $3 fee for the 6 oysters. Worth it. The clam chowder was delicious, great chunks of clams in there. We decided on a whim to check out this joint. As we had a tour the night before about it being haunted and waitresses seeing a ghost We liked the vibe it has inside. It wasn't too crowded. We did not order any special cocktails. They didn't have a huge list to begin with. Only a few beers on draft. The have the 2nd level ropes off ( where the ghost was seen) we saw no one going up there. ( not even staff). We sat at a booth high top style table. It was cool how they had seating at the bar and it's right by the kitchen. Our service was good. Very prompt and polite. Our friends ordered the calamari app and bread. Which the bread does run $4 but so worth it! So fluffy and freshly made. We all ate something seafood related. I definitely thought bigger than my belly. I had the fried fish sandwich with cheddar cheese on brioche bread. Comes with 2 sides: picked the garlic & buttered spinach and a baked potato. The location in Gloucester is really a market with.4 tables outside. Have to order inside and wait for your number to be called. Most people pick up and take home. Chowder was okay, fish & chips were excellent. We went back a second time and the batter for the fish & chips was not as good as the first time. Had a funnel cake smell. He commented that he would have wanted it more stuffed with lobster meat, but to me it was a good ratio of meat to butter toasted roll. We totally thought this lobster roll would've been better. Maybe if we got it cold it would've been better, but it was mostly bread and didn't taste like much. Wow, take out order I picked up. Ordered the fresh fish and chips they said be ready in eight minutes...it was! Fresh tasty fish crunchy fries perfectly seasoned and the tartar sauce was wonderful. As I looked around waiting for my order, the fish case was full of boat fresh fish, haddock,salmon swordfish and so much more. They have prepared baked stuffed clams that looked amazing some of the homemade sauces looked great, I will be back to purchase fresh shrimp and their homemade scampi butter. We're so happy that this year they added several new menu items including a lobster roll and fried fish sandwich served on toasted brioche buns, we've tried them all and they are the BEST around! Everyone at Turner's is always so friendly and helpful. They work so very hard, their above and beyond service is appreciated and it's great that they are also open from 9AM-7PM. Plus, working that fryolator in tight quarters, especially in the summer is not easy. We're so fortunate to have this hidden gem right here in Gloucester. Best fish & chips I have ever had. Everything about their fish & chips is excellent. They change the oil daily. Two of the kids there, especially, take their job seriously and ensure they change the oil. The fish is fresh haddock. The batter, I dont need to know the recipe, but it is so gooOOood. Chips are good. Malt vinegar is good. The homemade coleslaw is AmAzing, definitely up there among some of the best ever coleslaw. The homemade tartar sauce is at a whole other level of tarter sauce. Also have no clue what their signature recipe is and don't need to, just know it's one of the best tartar sauces I've ever had. If you're really hungry, get a few of their cooked, chilled wild Gulf shrimp with cocktail sauce. Perfectly cooked and chilled. So good. Also excellent here, their stuffed clams and their lobster risotto cakes. All of their fresh fish is fresh fresh fresh. I met Mrs. Turner at another place in town one evening. Great lady. This location sells fresh seafood raw. The only cooked thing they sell is fish n chips. Given the Turner reputation and the fact they only make one thing I assumed they must do it well. Ordered 2 fish n chips online around 1150am, it said it would be ready 1201pm. Arrived at noon the staff was completely unprepared- they were saying to each other that no ketsup servings were prepared- and something about the fries, they told me the oil was freshly changed. I'm guessing the oil was also not hot enough. We got our order around 1215 and drove to the waterfront to eat. The fish was saturated in oil- literally dripping everywhere. Fish itself seemed real fresh- but ruined! We ate some because we were hungry and tossed the rest. I had stomach upset all afternoon and evening. I DID message the business via my online receipt where it said "how did we do" never heard back. On a positive note - the staff may have been very disorganized but they were very courteous. read more

I needed a top notch location to place an order for my father's memorial/celebration of life luncheon party this past May 18; needing a lobster and steamers "shore dinner" for 20 people coming from out of state. There was no room for making a mistake in choosing a place. I was recommended to go to Turner's Seafood and it was the best recommendation I've ever received in my life. They not only delivered to our house because my son's vehicle was too small it turned out, when he drove there to pick up the insulated crates holding the lobsters and steamers, but the owner himself actually delivered everything to our house. Not just the lobsters and steamers, but everything that went with it... The lobster, steamers, melted butter, and broth for the steamers, couldn't have been more delicious according to all the guests. I was in tears when the owner himself delivered all the food to my house to make sure it was on time, when my son couldn't take it himself... I couldn't believe a place would do something like that. They were amazing. - and wouldn't let me give them any gratuity for that kindness. I had to leave this Yelp review so that if you ever want the best seafood in the world and from the absolute best people on the planet to deal with...
