Not gonna lie, I was a bit underwhelmed by this place. When I picture a lobster shack, I'm usually thinking of a little place by the water, not along a busy road. There wasn't really anywhere to sit outside either, which was disappointing. Major minus points on the vibe. In terms of the lobster, the quality was decent, but the roll was pretty small. I don't think I'd bother coming back, given all the other seafood options in the area.

I've had lobster rolls all up and down New England and this is one of my favorites. It's a simple place with just a few parking spots, but the price is right and the people have always been nice. The lobster roll isn't super large or overflowing with lobster, but it's enough and it's also 20-30% cheaper than most places, allowing you to try something else! Really enjoyed my hot, buttered lobster roll and the hat trick box that we got (clams, shrimp, and scallops). On another occasion, we got another box with fried fish that was great as well (in addition to the lobster rolls, of course).

Everything was fresh off the boat Joe's on a roll is a takeout only. But the food is amazing lobster roll is packed with fresh lobster the haddock sandwich was the bomb best I ever had came with French fries or Tata tots everything is fresh like I said . The ladies who run the place are amazing cheerful and helpful second to none. Joe's on a Roll the best. The ambiance is very good too but they have no seating takeout.

The service was excellent. The lobster rolls were good., no really big chunks of lobster. Otherwise, they would've been great.. We got oysters and they chucked them for us.. Also, the onion rings were really good. No seating in very little parking. Great prices, I will definitely be back..

A family run business that makes you feel like a part of their family! Thank you, Nicki for honoring my dad by caring for us every time we come! Joe's On A Roll lobster combo - lobster roll, chips & Diet Coke - make everything feel better!!

Wow! I could just leave my review at that... what an amazing find! I had the lobster bisque, which was loaded with tons of delicious lobster! My wife had the chowder, which was equally as impressive. Which one I will get the next time is anybody's guess; they are both at the top of my list! Now let's talk about their lobster roll. Totally loaded with font of mouth watering, delicious tail meat! Absolutely one of the best lobster rolls out there! To make a good thing even better, their prices are truly affordable! I will most definitely be back here again the next time I am in the area. So delicious!!!

So happy we found this place while enjoying our weekend on the North Shore! I had the Deluxe Lobster Roll Combo that included a Lobster Roll, choice of Chowder, Lobster Bisque, or Corn Chowder, Chips and a Drink for $23.50!!! Wow! What a deal! The Lobster Roll was AMAZING! One of the best I've had and I eat them from everywhere! The chowder was THICK and yummmy!!! Will DEFINITELY be coming back!!!

It is okay but the lobster was a bit tough, the flavor was fine. I should also have asked for the butter on the side not put on the bun.

I used to go to Turner's Seafood in Melrose but, now that they have a place in Salem, I go there. I have never been disappointed. The ambiance is nice, particularly in Salem.

I made reservations for my birthday dinner in July all the way back in December, so it was…read moredisappointing to arrive and be told that my reservation had somehow been canceled. After waiting about 20 minutes, we were finally seated. Despite that rocky start, the food was so outstanding that we ended up coming back every single day during our stay in Salem. The biggest inconsistency was the service. Out of the four days we visited, only one day stood out as having exceptional service. Most of the time we had to flag someone down for drink refills, order more oysters, ask for Parmesan cheese, or even leave our credit card hanging off the edge of the table before someone would notice we were ready to pay. Now, onto the food because that's what kept bringing us back. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were the true stars of the menu. These are the kinds of soups you'll still be thinking about long after your vacation is over. The lobster bisque was unbelievably rich, creamy, and packed with generous pieces of lobster. The clam chowder had the perfect consistency and, unlike so many others, was loaded with tender clams instead of mostly potatoes. The one-and-a-half-pound lobster was sweet, tender, and practically melted in my mouth. I wasn't in love with my pasta dish. The scallops, however, completely stole the show. They tasted as though they had been pulled from the ocean just moments before being cooked perfectly fresh, sweet, and delicate. Unfortunately, the pasta itself was undercooked and lacked flavor, even after the Parmesan cheese finally arrived. The strawberry shortcake was the perfect dessert on a hot Fourth of July afternoon. It was light, fresh, and exactly what we wanted to finish the meal. And the oysters? Absolutely phenomenal. Every single day. They were consistently fresh, delicious, and one of the main reasons we kept coming back. While the service has plenty of room for improvement, the kitchen is doing something truly special. The quality of the seafood alone was enough to make us return day after day, and that's about the highest compliment I can give a restaurant.

"It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality" - i picked it because of this quote on the menu, and i forgot how much i used to love p!atd. i thought to myself, "i've heard this before somewhere..." i loved the bread & roasted garlic butter, however on a little cutting board it was difficult not to make a mess. i guess that's part of what makes it "kitchen table." it is the perfect, round sourdough loaf with the most delicious butter. the roasted chicken was prepared flawlessly. juicy and tender inside, and a perfect crispy skin, just wow. i absolutely loved the selection of spring vegetables, along with the sherry sauce; sautéed spinach, carrots, mushrooms, and onions. the mashed potatoes were perfect once i added extra salt, extra pepper & whipped it up with more of that garlic butter to my liking, however it was prepared great. i requested it without bacon butter, how it typically comes prepared, and the garlic butter is a great substitute. everything was impeccable. i travel to boston often just for food, because i find that the food in beverly, as a whole, is just not up to par, even with all of the marketing. kitchen table is different than any other restaurant in beverly, and now i don't have to travel so far to get the most delicious meals! i am honestly blown away by how amazing my meal was, and i highly recommend kitchen table to anyone in the north shore, and i'd even say it's completely worth going out of your way for. whether solo, a romantic or friend date, or with a small or large group, kitchen table is here to serve (one of the best meals you've had in a long time). there were some other ladies at the bar that were extremely hospitable and helpful as well, i didn't catch their names this time. i wanted to take some pictures at the end of my meal, at closing time when it had emptied out, and molly encouraged me to take all the pictures i needed. just fantastic service by all of the staff. i couldn't be happier with my first experience at kitchen table. here's to many more! ambiance: 4.9/5 food: 5/5 drinks: 5/5 service: 5/5 kitchen table: 5/5

Great water view that is most likely even better in summer. Staff was very nice and attentive. Appetizers came out decently quick in which we had the buffalo cauliflower bites and crab cake. The cauliflower was cooked well but the buffalo sauce was very strong. It could have used a nice blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping. The crab cake was the highlight of the night. The one crab cake sat on a bed of pepper relish with the mango habanero aioli on top was a surprisingly good combo. My wife ordered the filet and ask for it medium. Looked good coming out the we find out the potatoes and spinach the steak were laying on were very cold and the steak was very rare. At a price of $48 you expect the meal to be at least warm and cooked properly. And now the churassco, I had zero idea what this was gonna come out as but it was just kind of a hodgepodge of stuff thrown on a plate. Yucca frites were very dry and stale tasting so it took a lot to chew. I didn't know the carrot was going to be shredded carrots cause unless it's in a salad I prefer actual carrot slices. Steak and plantains were cooked very well and were tasty. It came out on a skillet but there was zero sizzle. I don't really understand why they put onion rings on the rice it just made it harder to eat. I do hope the food got more consistent throughout the night cause the beginning was kind of a mixed bag.
