This particular location of The Fresh Market is located in Savanah, Georgia a little bit of a way off of Interstate 95. But I wanted to try this barbecue sauce made in Charleston, South Carolina and this Fresh Market had it in stick. Service here was extremely helpful and friendly and they were able to quickly get me in the right aisle. I know a lot of people dismiss The Fresh Market as an expensive market, they often have some great sales. You can get great quality meat at a great price if you look for those particular sales. The Fresh Market is a wonderful grocery/market. The market is always clean, neat, & organized. Their bathrooms are clean too! It is easy for me to find what I need/want. And they have a free coffee station! I love free coffee! The staff are always incredibly friendly. They welcome you into the store. Whenever I am walking around of a staff member sees me they say hello, ask how I am, & if I need any help. One of my favorite deals they offer are the Little Big Meals they have weekly. It is $20 to feed a family of four! Yes, that's right. High quality & delicious food packaged and ready for you to cook for four people. My husband & I love these meals. We'll have dinner and lunch for the next day. They switch the meal once a week on Wednesdays. If you want to know what they have before you go just check your local Fresh Market's website. It is listed for you. But a few examples that we like are: fajitas, jambalaya, & the sheet pan pork & vegetables meals. They give you basically everything you need to feed four people. It is all located in the front cooler with the pre cut vegetables and fruit. There is a sign that says little big meals in the cooler. You pick up the recipe provided, a numbered list of items you'll need(the numbers help to ensure you don't forget anything), and then pick up the items provided which are all generally in the cooler. Once you are home follow the recipe and about 20-30 minutes later dinner is complete! Fresh Market also has rotisserie chicken dinners on Tuesday & Sunday for $12.99. This includes rotisserie chicken of choice, 2 sides(hot or cold), & corn muffins. It is a great deal! This is a quick and easy no cooking required meal. On Tuesdays you'll probably find me eating rotisserie chicken for dinner! Their hot food area has a variety of foods. From ribs, chicken, vegetables, macaroni and cheese the list goes on. Around two o'clock and after the hot area will start to get low on items. They do not refill it multiple times daily. The items that are put out especially vegetables can run out quickly. So if you are particular & want certain items try to get there before the 4-5:30 pm dinner rush. I also like their pre made cold foods area. Lots of variety! Fresh salads, pasta salads, greens etc. My personal favorites are the Mediterranean pasta salad & the rotisserie chicken salad. And if you buy a pound of rotisserie chicken salad(generally about $10) you get a 4 pack of croissants for free! Gotta love free! On Mondays their Bistro meals(1 protein & two sides) from the cold section are discounted to $6! Another quick lunch or dinner option I use frequently. Lastly my favorite day at Fresh Market is Thursday. Because it's $5 day! Multiple items throughout the store are only $5! Now don't get your hopes up for filet mignon to be $5. You'll be disappointed. But their pizzas, pre made foods, and some fresh items are. Basically I love Fresh Market! If all else go in and browse. It's a beautiful store. I didn't know savannah had a fresh market and got super excited when I saw it across the parking lot. I like the fact that they have pre-made food that you can grab and go with for a quick meal or to take home and heat up. They are a little pricey, but they do have great produce and other items. Their desert section had me on my knees. It was the most beautiful dessert section I have ever seen. I have attached pictures, it's really amazing. I don't know how I resisted. This place also has a decent seafood area. The lobster was sitting out, and that was strange to me. I may not know about seafood but seafood sitting out like that seems like it would cause illness. Bought 2 lobster tails ($55 for both by the way) only to open the bag and smell fish. I thought maybe they would be okay so I cooked them.... I really like Fresh Market. They have a lot packed into a small space. Lately we have started to enjoy pickup fully prepared meals. The prices are reasonable, and the food is well prepared. Maybe during the pinnacle of the pandemic curbside service was better, and I am hoping that todays service was an anomaly. But after receiving the notification that our order was ready, I arrived at the curbside pickup area and contacted the store through the provided link. I waited after being informed that the food was on the way. After 10 minutes I contacted them again and was notified that the order was coming. Then 5 minutes later I got a message telling me that no one was available to fill my order---please come inside. This sort of defeated the purpose of curbside pickup, but I went inside and could not find the designated pick up area. Finally I got the assistance of an employee who brought my order to the car. This incident won't stop us from trying again, but it will be remembered. read more

Yelp Challenge 7/100 Fresh Market is an upscale grocery market, a bit over price, but the scenery is nice. It's in a shopping center with many retail department. The parking lot is huge.. They have fresh vegetables and fruits. Many of the items are organic. I discovered a meat and seafood market. They also have a bakery and a muffin stand. If you're really hungry this place also has a cafateria in the center of the market. Here you get to choose a variety of cook food in a to go box. What is wrong with this store? Do they ever check their stock, especially bulk items to replenish or restock containers ? I have shopped here on average once a week and without fail they are either out of stock on standard nut items or they have no supplies to get bulk items, even though at least a sixth of the store real estate is dedicated to these food items. Same for dairy products and a lot of produce. Most recently there was a line of customers at every register yet there was no attempt on the part of management to open an additional register to keep the lines moving. This is not even a regular supermarket. It is a specialty grocery store. Lack of ability to deal efficiently with customers during what would normally be considered non peak times and inventory issues with basic food items is beyond belief. read more

I will say the prices for some things are very high, but so is the quality. I find a vast assortment of all sorts of gourmet and ethnic foods here. I particularly go here for the spices. This store is very much similar to that of Whole Foods. Fresh fruit and veggies, sushi, gourmet cheeses and sauces, beautiful cakes... They have amazing fruit salad bowls, sparkling fruit drinks, gourmet chocolates, and this amazing chocolate ganache cake. The prices are much higher but you're paying for the quality. LOVE The Fresh Market! Went for my first time today. I just moved here and am living in Pooler... so S and I have only been doing our grocery shopping at Walmart... and while its been decent there are always tons of stuff I'm looking for that they don't have at all. I'm huge on produce when I shop and their selection is limited. We tried Piggly Wiggly too but the same results. I was starting to think the only place I might find good stuff was at farmer's markets but if you know me.... you know I'm not awake and out the door early enough to do that! I saw the sign on Abercorn while we were driving around and asked S if we could do our grocery shopping there while he was almost sleeping... oops. hahaha! The good thing was we were both so impressed and so excited to be in such a nice place with so many choices that it may become the only place we shop at. All the produce is displayed beautifully and I don't think I saw anything that was bruised or rotting. The meats, cheeses, and ready-made food all looked delicious... and so we ended up buying quite a lot! It's not Central Market and it's not Whole Foods, not even close... but its the closest you will get in Savannah. We shop here weekly and have only had a few issues- carrots going soft after just a day and moldy greenbeans, which was partially my fault for grabbing a bag without checking. The store is small but has a great selection of produce, meat and bulk items (nuts, snack mixes, grains); a nice deli area, bakery, and a few aisles of canned and boxed items. read more

Deli needs to get it together in terms of customer service. I asked for two chicken club sandwiches/paninis to be made fresh and for one to have no honey mustard. I was told flat out "no" even though there was a sign on the glass case that said **made fresh upon request** Not surprised they were both absolutely gross since they had been sitting in the counter for god knows how long. What's with the attitude? And why don't you want to follow protocol? Never again. Lesson learned. Their bakery items are usually delish, I'm a big fan of the lemon poppy seed muffins, blueberry pound cake, kaiser rolls and banana chocolate chip bread. This past weekend I picked up a peach praline pie and it was so gross I threw the entire thing in the trash after taking one bite. Canned, sour tasting peaches with a soggy crust. Please take my advice and do not waste $10 on this atrocity. Produce is hit or miss. I've seen entire sections of moldy fruit (raspberries most often..) and the avocados are always too ripe (and sometimes as high as $3/each!) They're often out of Jalopenos and green peppers, too.the bulk section is all sweets, coffee, and nuts. They could definitely add some bulk rice and other items. The worst part of shopping here is the bagging process. Cashiers and baggers literally stuff everything in bags as fast as they can and pile heavy items ontop of fragile produce. I've had to throw away Nectarines and peaches because canned goods were piled ontop of them. I've learned to try to strategically place items up for them to bag first and then reorganize everything when I get to my car. Yesterday, I got a muffin for my ride home and it was smashed at the bottom of an overstuffed bag. Sigh.. On a good note, the butcher section is usually very friendly and accommodating. The only reason for 3 stars. I highly suggest getting the bacon from this section- it's bogo on Saturdays and totally worth it. read more

Very calming, relaxing shopping experience at Fresh Market. I would give 5 stars, but the selection is not the best if you're searching for organic foods. They do have some good seafood sometimes, so that is my main reason for coming here. As far as Savannah health food is concerned, you have a pretty limited list of shops to go to for your uncommon ingredients or vegan/ vegetarian meals. While this store isn't your hippie-dippy shop, they offer plenty of products to make your meal-planning easier than a trip to Kroger's. They are a very clean establishment, and there's something fun about walking in and listening to orchestra music playing while you shop for fruits and veggies. They have a pretty excellent bakery/dessert section (mini cheesecakes, yum!)
