Tried the brunch there a few months ago which is available on Fri-Sub 10am to 3pm. Its inside Ellis Island Hotel. Parked by the front and walked going in. I like the open space. I really do enjoy the food at this location as to why I kept going. I will say that having a sick server and a gnat in my drink on the same visit is a major deterrent. This place is 100% a great spot I wanted to lead with that because I think our experience was circumstantial to a themed day. We were in town for an emo festival and this place just happens to throw an emo brunch which is super cool by design. They had a photobooth, signage, a dj with throw back music videos rolling, honestly such a cool vibe! The cocktails I was totally happy with! They had great flavor and just enough strength to feel okay about the price in Vegas, no qualms here! My issue was with the food itself, they had this really sweet idea to make it "emo" and make the foods black "syrups, waffles, etc" unfortunately, the food coloring just dissected the flavor from the food and made it meh to endure. I had steak and eggs and I cannot complain about that, but my wife's chicken and waffles was just not the play. My suggestion to them would be to just go with other options to dress the food up other than just flooding the mixtures with black food coloring But they really did go all out for it which is why I only dropped a star, even the menu was fully named out to follow suit! The Front Yard is part of the Ellis Island Casino. According to the bartender the place got revamped and updated approximately 3 years ago. I'm ecstatic! The ventilation system got a major upgrade and I believe I heard the bartender say no smoking here to another patron...Brilliant! This place used to sooo rundown...I got sick here due to smoke inhalation from extremely bad conditions. I remember opening the front door and a cloud of SMOKE...yeah a CLOUD of CIGARETTE SMOKE coming out... I still went in against my judgment, since my friends said the food was good. I paid the price for my bad judgment. Looks like things have turned around a fair bit. Although you can still smell a decent amount of smoke in the Casino Area. I sat at the bar and just had a flight of beer. I didn't try the food this time, will give that a shot the next time. If you're not starving, I think you can totally share this burger (if you eat by recommended portions). The fries are nicely thick and salty. The burger was juicy and tasty. I got my burger medium. It was so good. I could probably eat it all but then I would really be stuffing myself. I already ate more than I should have. Our server Sonia was great. She checked on us after a good amount of time after we got our food. She came by several times to refill our water as it was hot. He was supposed to have put our orders in over 10 minutes ago by then. I thought it was odd he did not ask me how I wanted my burger cooked. I figured he would make it like most industry standard medium rare. Already completely humiliated by is comment for my credit card. He brought our food and our burger was charred black and dry. I mentioned it to him, and he said I forgot to ask you and I was in a hurry, so I just hit medium well. I explained I was not happy and he acted like it was a problem. We already waited almost an hour from the time he took our drink order and to wait even longer and complain with our clients there is not professional. I am very unhappy with the experience which your place came highly recommended. When he brought us the check he said he took the burger off but we came there with a buy one get one meal free coupon, so nothing was taken off in reality. I didn't ask for a discount I wanted an apology for what he said. Humiliating a guest is irresponsible and the worst customer service one can receive. I questioned the manager in the bar, and she simply stated it's our company policy to get payment before the order is put in. She did not even want to hear what I had to say or give me time to explain why I was humiliated. This is no way to treat your customers. I would suggest more training for both your server and bar manager. I've managed several restaurants in my life and there is a right way to ask for a credit card. This is completely unacceptable. Customer service needs much improvement. Luckily my clients had a good time. PS. If you order a burger make sure to say how you like it made, even if the server does not ask you. Dined there on a late Thursday afternoon with a friend. Not very busy while we were there (4:15-5:45PM). Our waiter was Peter, who was friendly, but at a certain point, stopped checking on us -- I guess it was his signal that he was ready for us to leave. I really want to like this place. I am a local, and love the fact that Ellis Island is locally owned. I'm always looking for new occasional hangouts in Las Vegas. Places that I can take both local and non-local friends to for a good meal, maybe watching some sports event on TV, drinking a few beers, etc., but avoiding the trendy places that are packed and overpriced. The Front Yard at Ellis Island is not at all a contender, due to their obscenely high prices. They seem confused as to their location -- sorry Gary & Ellis family, but you're NOT located on the Las Vegas Strip, in-fact, you're located in a rather seedy area, well away from the Strip. I ordered a burger, with some add-ons. A reasonable person, even one familiar with Vegas area nickle & diming, would have expected that $20 burger to come with fries, Cole slaw or something similar. Nope! For $20, you just get the burger and a plate. So I suppose, at this point I should clarify something -- I did not get the burger I ordered. It did not come with the cheese, onions, etc. customization, it was just a plain burger with ketchup & one pretty feeble looking piece of lettuce that was about 3" x 3". And I suppose it should not be surprising at this point, but I ordered the truffle fries ($7) and instead, was served the regular fries, which may or may not have had garlic salt on them, and cost $6. Either way, for the price, a reasonable person would expect a good sized basket of fries, but of course that's not what the Front Yard at Ellis Island delivered to me. As you'll see from the photograph attached to this review, it was a pretty small quantity of fries. Even with an appetizer that I shared with my friend, after eating this expensive meal at the front yard, I was a little bit hungry again two hours later. Since I was pretty hungry to begin with, I ate both the burger and fries, despite noticing that they were not as I ordered. When Peter came back to check on us about five minutes after giving us our order I did mention it to him, simply so that he was aware of it and could adjust the bill. He immediately blamed the error on the kitchen staff. He did say he would be sure to lower our bill to the proper amount, but it was said as if he was doing it as a courtesy to us, and never offered a free beer or dessert or more fries or anything as any sort of compensation for their error. So this rather boring, normal-sized burger and what any fast food restaurant would consider to be a small order of fries cost $23, plus tax & then gratuity. A Whopper or Big Mac and large order of fries from a fast-food place would have been a much more satisfying meal, at a much more satisfying price. Some people at this point may try to remind me "Ah, but you're also paying for the 'atmosphere!' but there really wasn't any atmosphere -- well, that's not correct, there was an annoying cold breeze constantly blowing on us from there air conditioning system, however, it wasn't a strong enough breeze to keep the flies that apparently live in their vegetation away from our table. The only other 'atmosphere' to the place during the 90 minutes we were there was that they had the NBA Draft airing on several TV screens throughout the place. Now here's the kicker -- we dined there under their "Pardon our Dust!" promo. Yes, there's some remodeling taking-place inside the casino that results in some minor inconvenience, but I think the real reason for the promo is simply marketing to get people in there -- with the promo, food & drinks at the Front Yard & other restaurants are 50% Off (certain days/hours). So YES, my $17 burger & $6 fries as well as the rest of the food & drinks we had were half-off, which was nice, HOWEVER, even at the half-off price, both my friend and I agreed that there was absolutely no way we would dine at the Front Yard at Ellis Island at their normal prices, and even as locals who live within a 20 minute drive of the place, our overall experience does not give us a compelling reason to want to go back there anytime soon, even with a 50% price discount! REALITY CHECK: If you're staying at Ellis Island Casino's hotel, the sole reason you are doing so is to save $. That's great, but don't expect any similar value from The Front Yard, and if you're budgeting $25+ per-person for lunch or dinner, you may as well hit one of the better dining options in the area, that will have some interesting scenery and real ambience to it. After reading this review, please do take a look at the photo of my $17 burger and $6 fries -- a picture really is worth a thousand words. Do I expect The Front Yard to reduce prices? If you love a big screen for sports - this place has it! On one wall is a huge single screen with several hanging tv's throughout the restaurant perimeter. We had a great server tonight, Elena, who was a key reason for the overall experience being awesome. She is attentive and friendly! I tried the Impossible Burger out of curiosity. I'm a carnivore but wanted to see how the taste was. The Impossible Burger patty itself isn't a juicy patty like real meat so that wasn't a surprise. It's dressed with your normal burger items - ketchup, lettuce, tomato. It comes with mustard but I chose to leave it off. The burger is accompanied by a choice of fries or salad, I chose the fries and they were quite unique and I enjoyed them! I would say that the burger was OK, and I'm looking forward to trying another item next time. My guest had the Blackened Chicken Sandwich which is topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado spread, and as requested - the chipotle ranch on the side. The chicken isn't spicy. I wanted to come here because I love breweries, and it did not disappoint! The Front Yard is only a short walk off the strip in the Ellis Island Hotel and Casino. We came for brunch on Saturday and were seated right away. There is plenty of seating, including booths and tables, and an area upstairs. Even though The Front Yard is "open," like you are sitting on a patio, the area is covered and has AC and lots of TVs to watch a game. They even had a live DJ playing, which was kinda fun on a Saturday morning. We sat at a booth, and the temperature was perfect. It was a little early for me to have a beer, but the coffee was good. I had one of the house specials, the Brisket Benedict. It had house-smoked brisket, caramelized onions, BBQ sauce, and poached eggs, all on top of a cheddar biscuit. It was AMAZING! The brisket was tender, and the biscuit was the perfect vessel for the dish. My partner had the Avacado Toast on gluten-free bread with an added poached egg. She said the gluten-free bread was great. They had lots of drink specials, including a mimosa goblet. I would have indulged if we didn't have plans to go to a brewery after. I like coming to Ellis Island, but never liked coming to the restaurants, mainly because they are inside the casino, the smoke and noise always creeps in. I came to the Front Yard shortly after it opened and boy, I love it! While it's connected to the casino, it has a door that closes, plus the roof can be opened (and usually is) to the sky! There is a bar with requisite video poker games, and then a wide open dining area with tables and more TVs than you can imagine. I have sat at both the bar and the tables, I like both, depending on what you want and what you are doing. They have an open kitchen, you can watch them cook and get your order. The beer is great, all coming from the Ellis Island Brewery. I have had many things on the menu, all good. Beer Beer-bined chicken Wings are my favorite, but the Cheeseburger is really tasty as well. Pulled Pork is good, but it should be as they specialize in Barbecue. The CBR Flatbread was okay, just not my favorite flavor combinations. This is also a great place to watch sports, there are TVs EVERYWHERE! I stay next door at the Platinum, so this place is really convenient, but I also like the fact that it is NOT on the strip! Just came in for drinks after food at Village Pub (pretty good service), couldn't find seating at the bar for 3 so we get seated at a table. We walked in at 7pm. Server took a solid ten minutes to acknowledge our presence. The 3 of us order drinks. One drink shows up fairly quickly, a mocktail that was probably on tap and the other two were cocktails that would "be a minute behind" 20 more minutes pass and not so much as a look in our direction from our server. Getting impatient, I walk across the restaurant to kindly remind her we were still waiting on a few more drinks. She says "I'm really busy, it'll be a few more minutes" - no apology, just pretty dismissive. This restaurant is located in Ellis Island Hotel. Its a bit off the strip right behind the Horseshoe Casino . When u walk in it give you an out door feel because it's so big and spacious the ceiling you can see the outside not sure if they open or stay closed . It's was very hot when we were there they had a nice AC going . The food here is amazing they have the best pork belly I have ever had !! This was my second time here since I was back in Vegas I had to make sure to come back that is how good the pork belly is lol. All the food is good that is just my favorite. They have cocktails drinks but they are also a brewery they have a pretty good selection of their own beers . Our waiter was super nice and attentive love the vibes . Came early on a Saturday and we were seated quickly - and didn't realize it was game day. But the hostess was nice and sat us in a decent area. There were tvs everywhere all different sizes. There was also a bar, and a dj that was playing some good music. Really liked the vibe walking in. I was shocked they don't offer French toast...anywho, here's a rundown of the food. Mimosa: 6/10 - nothing too special about this. It wasn't strong and the bowl of came in was cute. We did have to ask the waitress to put the drink in separate glasses because while I love my friends, we don't get down like that. She was very nice about it which we appreciated. Pork belly: 5/10 - I know pork belly is fat, but this was ALL fat and barely any meat. I did enjoy the sriracha like mayo on it though and overall flavor wise it was decent when I was able to get some meat, but I won't get them again. Bananas foster pancakes: 6/10 - these were brought out before the rest of the food which was odd. The pancakes themselves weren't terrible but they could've been a little fluffier and had more flavor. I enjoyed the cinnamon butter a lot and would request that for regular pancakes. Steak and eggs: 8/10 - for $16 you can't beat this. And honestly I didn't even need the pancakes once I saw how much food was on this plate. The potatoes were the star of the show for me. Navigating to get there was a bit of a challenge due to the formula 1 set up going on in Vegas so it took much longer to get there than expected but I can't hold that against them. Once I made it I was able to park in the garage located behind the Ellis Island Hotel & Casino. The garage was free so it's nice that you don't have to pay like most of the casino & resorts on the strip. There was no wait so my group was able to get seated quickly. The waiter brought out some waters and took our drink orders right after we got seated. They do have bottomless mimosas but I needed a bottom to mine on this occasion so I just ordered 1 traditional mimosa. The waiter recommended their chicken and waffles. I chose to get a short stack of strawberry pancakes because I had a craving. I got a side order of the thick cut bacon. They weren't kidding because side two slices were more than enough. I could barely eat 1. They have generous portions here and reasonable prices. A added bonus is they have plenty of TVs with all of the NFL action on for Sundays. As a Vegas local, I thoroughly enjoy this bar/restaurant. I'm willing to travel from southern Highlands just to watch the games here, whether it's hockey, baseball, or football. I love bringing friends and family who are visiting from out of town. My only complaint is that there aren't any vegan options besides the Beyond Patty for the burgers. Popularity for this spot has undoubtedly grown over the last few years. Great for them, bittersweet for us. Amanda is our favorite server and always provides the best experience. Keeps us boozed and hydrated, and knows exactly when "emergency" pancakes are needed. Never had anything we didn't like in the cuisine department. Locals know best and this is definitely a locals spot. Ambiance is so universal, within one meal we caught a random UFC fighter pop in for a quick press stop and then a wedding reception right after.
