Starving we bellied up to the bar grabbed a menu and studied the menu. I decided on a shrimp basket and my friend had fried catfish basket. The staff was friendly and thee food came out quickly. They have an aquarium with small Gators! I love to find the local restaurants in my travels.

After putting our order for 2 drinks an and an appetizer, 20 minutes later, the waitress came to take our entire order. Before our drinks and appetizer? My wife ordered onion rings with her sandwich, they brought fries. Waitress offered draft beer, I accepted, then she brought a bottled beer and said they don't have draft? (brought no glass or mug with bottle). I asked for another 10 wings. The waitress said she had to go check, because they may be out. She confirmed. We asked for water, halfway through, had to ask again when we asked for the check near the end. She had to get us a to go cup. They brought no plates for us to put our wing bones and shrimp tails, I had to use napkins to pile those onto. We ordered a simple meal for two, wings, shrimp and beers. That's hard to mess up so much on a Thursday night.

Word of mouth, if it's good, restaurants can thrive from it. And that's what happened in this case…read morewhen an acquaintance mentioned the Blue Water Bay and how good the shrimp dinners are. Our brunch experience definitely confirmed that, with a tasty twist on Cajun cooking. My husband tried the Earlton Hash. A tasty combination of shrimp, andouille sausage, a creamy hollandaise sauce and done wonderful tiny potatoes all topped with a fried egg. This dish made for a memorable brunch. He topped it off with a bottle of beer to connect the two eating periods. I opted for the French Toast. It was tender and moist. It came with very crispy bacon. The dining room is nicely furnished with stained glass sea life. They also showcase artwork for sale. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the kitchen is a bit slow in service. Side note-the restrooms, while functional, could use work. And for those looking for liquid refreshments there is an attached bar, with seating behind a full wall .

We were a bit disappointed there was nothing in the brisket pan or in the ribs pan until we were about to leave. We were full by that time but would really have liked to try both items. We were there nearly an hour. The service was top notch. Our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We will be back. Back staff needs to be a bit more attentive to the items on the Buffet line.

Disappointed in the "Future" of McDonald's…read more As someone who appreciates innovation, I was hopeful about McDonald's new tech-forward approach--but this experience left me frustrated and disappointed. In today's version of McDonald's, the customer now does everything except cook and clean: touchscreen ordering, retrieving your own drink, grabbing condiments, and sometimes even cleaning your own table. With that level of self-service, the least I expected was for my order to be correct. I ordered two bacon hamburger--and yes, bacon is a key ingredient! It arrived without any. When I pointed it out, the manager was pleasant and offered to either remake it or add bacon to the ones I had. I chose the latter to save time. Still, this shouldn't have been an issue to begin with. Meanwhile, only one drink dispenser was working, the napkin dispenser was empty--we tugged out what may have been the last 8 napkins--and the straws were scattered across the counter with empty dispensers. Not exactly the clean, organized environment the new design seems to promise. And speaking of cleanliness... no greeting, no warmth, and the bathrooms were atrocious. Honestly, I should've turned around right then. If this is what the future of fast food looks like, I'm not impressed. If customers are doing more, staff should be doing better. Focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and basic hospitality. It's not about having fancy screens--it's about having a clean, well-run restaurant and an experience that feels like someone actually cares. District Managers, this reflects on you. You have the tools. Now manage, lead, and steward well. Don't invest in more tech--invest in your people, your service, and your stores. Let's not close by discussing the INFLATED prices for LESS quality and service.
