I'd say this is above average for ice cream in a vacation town, but not outstanding on its own. They have a ton of flavors posted on their website, but seem to have only a few in stock at a time. That's fine, but it made it hard to decide when you got to the front of the line. There's usually a huge line but the staff do their best to keep it moving without making you feel rushed. Holy tourist trap. Hi welcome to the Funky Twig where portions are none and prices are through the roof. My trip to this ice cream place was a total fail. The ice cream was good and for that they get 4.5 stars but the price to portion was horrible. They have three scams: "half scoop" one scoop, and two scoops. We got a half scoop and a single scoop. The amounts were around the same though, about a half scoop. $6.50 for the "single scoop" and $4.50 for the half scoop. For the photos the half scoop is the cup but it's had a few bites out of it. And the single scoop is the cone, untouched. It had none in the base just a bit on top. Support local businesses except when they charge too much... My advice is go to a Braums and get way more ice cream for way less. read more

This is our family's favorite coffee and ice cream spot whenever we visit! They have the friendliest staff, the service is always excellent, and they're incredibly consistent. We're usually there during busy holiday weekends, and despite the crowds, they're always fast, organized, and welcoming. It's clear they care about every customer, no matter how busy they are. The ice cream was very good but the flavors we had were too soft. The waffle cones had a good flavor too. The real disappointment was selling us a very burnt chocolate chip muffin with paper around it so you couldn't tell it was burnt. The muffin was to go so we didn't know til we got back to the condo. It was not edible at all. The muffin case was also labeled coffee cake muffin which this was not any version of a coffee cake muffin I have ever seen. Our group of eight stopped by last Tuesday. We ordered coffee, iced coffee, and ice cream. It took a while for coffee and iced coffee as they had to make it. The ice cream was good. We love supporting local business. So we were excited to find this spot on our trip to Kimberling City. This cute little coffee and ice cream shop is the place to go for some good coffee. They had several different flavors of coffee (including seasonal). I had the Salted Chocolate latte and my husband had a Mocha latte. They were both very good and a great pick me up. We ran out of time to try the ice cream while there, but it looked delicious. We are definitely going to make a point to try it the next time we are in town. They have 50 rotating flavors that include sorbets, gluten free and dairy free options. The Funky Twig is a unique place in a unique town surrounded by a unique lake and they serve unique and delicious ice cream. The owners are a really genuine young couple that are as nice as can be and have a passion for ice cream. As far as the ice creams go, the texture is incredible. The flavors change in a regular basis, so keep coming in to try something new. (They encourage sampling!) Of the flavors I got to try, the PB&J is crazy good. The chocolate dipped coconut uses Ghirardelli chocolate pieces. The sea salt caramel is smooth and satisfying. I look forward to being back. read more
