We already had lunch but the fish here looked so nice and crispy, so we ordered some to take out and enjoy at the harbour. It was as good as it looked. Crispy, hot and fresh. Tender inside. Real good Fish. We also ordered some fried shrimp on the side which were equally good. A nice little place in a lovely village. Be sure to give it a try when in the area.

Luckily, the view is gorgeous and it felt perfectly safe even at night. When we arrived, Mcleods was filled with locals and everyone was so gosh darn friendly! The wait after ordering was no more than 15 minutes, then they handed us a giant bag and we realized we may have made a mistake....we each got our own order of fish and chips and the servings are gigantic! I mean, I'm not complaining as it was delicious, but we certainly could have shared. We also got a battered pizza (yeah, that's right, fried pizza!). Even after the walk back to our lodging, everything was still nice and hot. There is no seating inside so this is strictly a take-out joint, and the only parking available is on the street, though the restaurant was quite busy on our visit and the street was not too crowded. Prices are incredible and if we had had a longer stay, I am sure we would have frequented Mcleods more than once. If I lived in Inverness it would be a go to spot for sure!

The purpose of this review is to inform folks as to the manner in which the "shortfall " was handled. In no way is this a complaint, on the contrary. I spoke to a young lady, who more than addressed the situation by providing a credit which I could go for. I could not go then so I went this week. On a day the lady I mentioned was working. I can only say, i was treated with excellent accord and Haas went above and beyond to rectify, what was a small oversight. I know where my fish and chip shop is from now on. Thanks so much. We should have pointed you towards MacGregor's as having the most delicious sticky toffee pudding, now verified after having several others that did not perfectly balance sweet with salt as that of the sticky toffee pudding at MacGregor's. If the pub is full, please find your way to the end of the bar and the small door to the left that takes you to the cosy table service room where Jess and other wait staff, including little Nala, will take the best care of you. We also highly recommend the steak & ale pie and fish & chips, should you require something a bit more than the sticky toffee pudding.
