I really liked this bar! It's in Endwell, NY. We stopped here for a lunch break before meeting up with relatives. It's a great dive bar! Clean, friendly, great food, great prices. Our waitress was very considerate and helpful. I had a great Speadie that I haven't had in over 20 years. It's was perfect! The beer was a draft brewed in Binghamton. Outstanding!! I frequent this area for work, so it's nice to find a quick spot for good food. Plus I like the laid back atmosphere. I ordered the jerk chicken sandwich with no bun and potato salad. It was a bit pricy for the place, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The iced tea was 'sour', not sure why, but the server happily gave me a soda water instead. The food came out quick enough, though there wasn't anyone else there, so it's hard to compare to busy times. She knew off the bat that we wanted separate checks, so that was very convenient. I've been coming to the Galley for the last 20 years and it never disappoints. They have an extensive menu with a ton of solid choices, and tonight for dinner I ordered the Cajun Chicken sandwich. The Cajun Chicken Sandwich While it's not a huge sandwich, it makes up for its size in flavor. They marinate the chicken breast (at least) 24 hours, and for the local spiedie fans it should remind you of that deep vinegar and spice flavor you get from quality local spiedies. The chicken is coated in cajun seasoning and grilled on their open flame grill, and it came out juicy with some crispy edges. Topped off with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, it's as quality a chicken sandwich as you'll find in town. So many other options to choose from, but this is a good start, but if you're into burgers, all you need to know is that they cook it on an open flame. Great beer selection, great people. Ordered take out and didn't get two sides with our meals. On top of that, the avocado in my wrap was rock solid. I called asking for a credit and they said that's all the avocados they have and they couldn't credit the sides. All they offered was for me drive back there to get the sides!! Didn't offer to credit one of the wraps or offer a free appetizer next time we were in. What kind of business tells their customers to drive back and/or just say sorry were not doing anything to remedy our mistake?! What a joke! read more

Let me say first: this place has above par food. I come here for the wings, with my whole family, everyone I'm in town. However, tonight was the last time. The service is lacking just about every time, usually because it's very busy and one gal has the whole room. Tonight's service was not only lacking, but rude. When you feel afraid to order food or drinks, or ask questions because your server is so short with you and acts like she us doing you a favor, it's time to stop patronizing a business. In addition, the illegible checks at the end make one wonder how the total came to be. You shouldn't have to question why your bill is what it is. As a server myself for 10 years, I'd never, ever, treat a customer as we were treated. Tip: less tables mean more attention to customers, which means higher tips. Tonight is the first time I have left only a 15% tip and hopefully she knows why. read more

I'd recommend somewhere else. Food: Sub-par bar fare. Über salty, unnaturally greasy, I probably went through 4 glasses of water. I had a burger that was easily forgotten. Ive had a pizza from here that was also very easily forgotten. However, the one thing I do remember is the large portions, so if you are looking for lots of food this is your place. Service: The waitress was quite a ditz to be quite honest. It took her at least 4 trips between the waitress station and our table to figure out our two person order. She obviously had been working there for quite a while because other patrons knew her by name. So why she couldn't figure out our order I could not tell you. Atmosphere: Eek. Carpeted floors in a bar/pub more often than not isn't a good idea. Very dark and dirty feeling. I wouldn't come back UNLESS I was really really really hungry. read more

Last time I went to the galley my party had a two hundred dollar tab. A friend of ours paid eighty of it and left. The waitress claimed no one paid eighty dollars, so they basically pocketed the money and didn't credit the tab. We have ended our monthly trips to the galley, so they've lost more than eighty dollars worth of business since deciding to steal from us. read more

I've never been a huge fan of The Galley but we decided to give them a shot for a party of 20 people since it was a central location and able to accommodate. Everything went perfect and the price was reasonable. The staff was great. We set up our food order in advance and everything came out with perfect timing and freshly prepared. Our group was located in a large section in the back of the restaurant so there was plenty of room and we were not disrupting other people or fighting to find space at the bar. The drink selection is pretty good. They don't have the widest variety of beer on tap but most people can find something. When we were there they had Southern Tier Live and Goose IPA in addition to standard selections. I'm sure we will head back for regular meals now that we've had this great experience! read more

A joke. A club sandwich should have 3 slices of toast. This had 2 so to me nothing more than a sandwich. The description of the club sandwich said it was fresh roasted turkey. It was deli meat! Hand full of fries for 2 dollars. Seems like a burger or sandwich would come with fries or some kind of side. Friend had a burger and said it was good but nothing great. Pizza was greasy and burnt on 1 side. Also expensive but we ordered through bing bites and all the restaurant food is jacked up in price. Will post pics later. read more

Always a good time with friends at the galley. A local endwell hangout you're bound to see someone you know. Food is always good and pretty consistent. Drinks are a tad higher priced than I'd like but they are always cold. Waitresses are always awesome and some of the hardest working people I've seen in the restaurant business. read more

It seems some people never post positive reviews of businesses, if you check out their other reviews all but one are one stars. The Galley is a great place to hang out. They have an alright beer selection. They have a vast variety of food, their salads are fantastic. They try to make sure their cooks provide the consistency. I would have asked for the manager if there was something wrong with my bill. Hope this was an off day for them. We went on a Friday for lunch (4 people). The inside is dark wood decoration. It's what you would expect for a bar. I had been craving a speedie and I heard they were good here. We waited 40 minutes after ordering to get our 4 sandwiches. The waitress was friendly but the food was not good. What do you get when you order a BLT? Bacon, lettuce, tomato... What do you get when you get a Galley Burger? Quoting the menu, "With your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion." We frequently order take-out since we live so close. Recently ordered two Galley Burgers, both with Jack cheese. Upon returning home I was astonished to find two Galley Burgers, one with cheese, one without. I called back and whoever answered said we had to specifically say we wanted lettuce, tomato and onion. But it's clearly stated on the menu!!! He elected to argue with me about what we ordered instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes. I'll take my business to Brothers 2, thank you. Couldn't have had a worse experience! Went for lunch with 8 people. Knew we were in trouble right at the start when no one came to seat us. We had to kind of mill around and found seating in the back. Server seemed to forget about us - repeatedly. Forgot to bring drinks, forgot to bring half the food, forgot to check on us, but was quick with the bill. I have some food allergies and was very clear with the server about my order. It came wrong 3 times!!! I finally gave up and ordered a burger which came just about the time everyone else in our group was done. Even the burger was terrible - charred on the outside and virtually raw on the inside. It was literally dripping with blood, despite the fact that I ordered it medium well. The server gave us a lame excuse that she is pretty new and also blamed the kitchen. In the end they offered to do nothing to make it right - nothing off the bill, no free drink or desert, nothing. Me and my friends go to The Galley at least 2-3 times a month. The staff is so nice and accommodating and the wings are great. If you're looking for a bar to hang out with your friends, drink, eat wings, and watch a hockey game, this is the bar for you. Very disappointing. Has consistently been going downhill for years. Used to be one of my favorite spots. Have cut down on portion sizes and raised prices, staff is iffy, cleanliness is very spotty (dirty plates, silverware, etc.), and quality of food isn't what it used to be. Our party of 8 ran up a $200 tab. Two friends of ours paid $80 of it, yet the bartender did not credit the tab the money. So after trying to settle up the tab, we found that we still had $200 to pay. Since the Galley stole $80 from us, we will never do business with them ever again. read more

We ordered 4 dozen wings for take out. They were by far the worst wings I have ever tasted. They were tiny, dry and over cooked. I called them back to tell them about this. In 60 years this is the first time I have ever called back to complain to any restaurant. That's how bad these were. I was told that they were aware that their last shipment of wings was not good so they added a few extra to the order. So rather than deal with their supplier they chose to sell these terrible wings. I said it didn't matter if they included extra wings in the order because they were so lousy. He said "sorry sir " and hung up on me. I was expecting some sort of compensation. I will never go there or order from there again. A good restaurant would never treat a customer like this. One star is way too many. Go to Jonathan's or Blind Tiger and get good food and be treated with respect. read more

We visited the Galley from Myrtle Beach today. Jeremy and his staff were the friendliness people in the area. The food was excellent....best wings and pizza in the area. Highly recommend this bar. We will be back. read more
